DWill/Booze Leaders? OK then, Time to Lead!
Jan 17, 2008 | 8:57PM | report this
There was one thing from the Denver beatdown that bothered me most. More than making Linas Klieza look like an all-star. More than the 11th loss in their last 12 road games. More than Jason Hart's ineptitude. More than Carlos Boozer's infatuation with his jumpshot. More than Paul Millsap continuing to get zero respect from the referees. More than the "it's not the team, it's their schedule" excuses.

It occured in the 3rd Quarter when Kleiza had a fastbreak layup looking for 2 of his eventual 41 points, and Kover fouled him while clearly going for the ball. Clean play? Yes. Hard foul? You betchya. Kleiza took exception to this and blatanlty kneed Kover in the back while Korver was trying to get up, and stood over Kyle as if to punk him. This occured right in front of Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams and no one did anything.

This is the problem with this team. No toughness. If you're doing the radio shows, if you're talking about being the future of this team, you gotta get in Kleiza's face. Do you think Michael Jordan or Karl Malone would have stood there and did nothing? Heck, Raja Bell would be suspended by now.

I don't care if Boozer's making $64 million or DWill's going to get max money. Like the school yard bully, Linas Klieza just took their milk money and the Jazz did nothing to stop him.

The Blazers are the youngest, most inexperienced team and they've beaten Utah 3 times and Denver twice. Utah and Denver are overrated teams.

Hell, even my wife as we were watching the game on TV freaked out when he did that to Korver! Why the hell did he get away with that! Booz and DWill needed to do something! The damn refs acted like nothing happened too! The TV announcers didn't say anything either!!! Somebody other than myself better give a damn!

great blog....funny and realistic. The most surprising thing is that Jerry Slaon was known as A HARD NOSED TAKE NO #### PLAYER and is the same type of coach. I respect him alot!!! I can't believe he wouldn't have someone's ####in the time out. I am a Laker fan and have been for almost 30 years, and you are right about Boozer and DWILL,Kobe would never allowed that either. He relishes being the leader and has the stong personality to take charge and back it up. Sloan should see if Laimbeer will come out of retirement if for nothing else just to be an enforcer when things like that happen. Fighting should never be a part of sports but there is a way to let the other team know that things of that nature WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!!! You have to go to bat for your teammates and let other teams know that they can't intimidate or disrespect you or you will get ran over!!!!

Someone noticed! I flipped when Kleiza had his knee on Korver! What is that? Ya Boozer and Williams didn't do anything but where were the refs? Why was that okay? I can understand if Booze or Williams was hesitant because the refs seemed like they would take Denver's side first but that just bugged me so much. You still need to maintain respect. What was Kleiza's problem, Kyle didn't make it a hard foul on purpose(Nice hustle back to the other end by the way after that three-point try). Even the announcers didn't think it was a big deal. Good for Korver for being a good sport and staying calm. I know I would've flipped at someone.

Thats Jazz Basketball for you, any time you stand up for yourself or your team mates you get #### by the referees.
Why do you think that Malone had a reputation for being such a dirty player?
Business as usual.

PE, you are quite wrong. utah and denver are underrated teams. utah was underrated last year, and even at the beginning of the season last year after making it to the western conference finals. utah and denver have always been underrated teams

The Jazz are the most underated team of all time, had it not been for MJ the Jazz woulda won quite a few. And last year making it to the West Finals and not getting swept by the Spurs is pretty amazing and still people say they aren't good.

It probably is tough playing for a team that gets absolutley no recognition.

JazzVikings - is that Vikings as in the NFL team

You are exactly right boozer is so soft I can't believe he didn't just start crying watching Kleiza being the bully of the court. He should have have stepped up and punched that fatty in the face. But wait he can't even defend him and makes him look like an allstar if boozer doesn't grow any Jazz will never step their game up. And refs in the NBA are lies, cheaters, and the worst in all of the major league sports.

First off, I liked the write. Second, Booz and DWILL have needed to step up the intensity all season, its like they are trying to ride off of last years success and think that teams will continue to be afraid of them, they were at first but the rest of the league has figured out that the jazz are easily stoppable. Come on Jazz your almost as bad to watch as the 49ers
