Who was the worst coach fired today?
Jan 02, 2006 | 1:20PM | report this
Talk about cleaning house for the new year. NFL doormats everywhere unloaded their failed head coaches today just like we took down decorations. With all these coaches on the way out, who was the worst coach of the lot?  Was it Dumb Capers who didn`t do much for the expoansion Texans except nearly get David Carr killed. This is a high profile job, and the lure of Reggie Bush could draw some big names. I have to laugh at #### Jim Haslett, who definitely won`t be getting that 5 year extension or complete control of football operations. As bad a coach as he is, I think he`ll get another shot.(Beware Buffalo!) What else can I say about Mike Tice? His departure is like losing Wayne Fontes or Seinfeld...his comedy will be hard to replace. Green Bay clipping Mike Sherman is very interesting because of Favre`s comments on how he would come back if Sherman remained. Guess we know what the Pack wants Favre to do huh? Then there is "offensive genius" Mike Martz who it seemed would win at least one Super Bowl. Instead he leaves a complete failure and best remembered as the guy who started the Patriots run of dominance. Thanks Mike, try an offensive co-ordinator opening.  My vote for the worst coach of this bunch in a tough vote goes to Martz, who in a weak division managed to make the Rams losers by insisting to throw the ball way too much no matter who was at QB. Hopefully he won`t get another chance in the NFL. Best bet for the next firing could be the Buffalo Bills.

When winning is not a good thing
Jan 01, 2006 | 1:50PM | report this

It`s tough to look at the wins by the Packers and Jets without saying they were bad for the franchise. Sure it might be Favre`s last home game, and beating Holmgren is always nice but the chance at the top draft pick is now gone. As for the J-E-T-S, they beat a di####able Bills team that has all kinds of holes mainly at QB. Lost in all of this is how the lousy New Orleans Saints lost-as expected to playoff bound Tampa Bay. I would really hate to see them get the #1 pick and watch Reggie Bush banished to the hell that is Saints football. The mission is now clear Houston, fire Dumb Capers make sure your players know they have nothing to play for and lose to San Francisco for the #1 pick!

Extreme Homeless Makeover Edition: Saints
Dec 31, 2005 | 7:50AM | report this

I`m tired of hearing how tough a season it`s been for goofball Jim Haslett and the worst franchise in the NFL those laughable Saints. I do feel bad for the hardworking people of New Orleans who were caught in the devistation and gave what I could to help. Hearing Joe Horn go on about his selfish needs and Haslett demand a five year extension with total control...now that`s too much. If things are ever gonna change as far as on the field results and respect the first step without question is to get rid of those nasty 1970`s disco inspired uniforms and fast. Why keep a tradition rich in losing & failure easily identified with the hideous uni`s?  It`s long overdue, and the only way to move forward there is a complete change.

Time to contract the Saints
Dec 25, 2005 | 7:24AM | report this
How could anyone lose to the putrid Detroit Lions? What will the morons that run the Saints awful franchise do with yet another high draft pick? How good will it feel for Aaron Brooks to get off the titanic? How has Jim Haslett not been fired yet?  These are just some of the questions surrounding the worst franchise in the NFL. Sure you can defend them based on what happened in New Orleans. I think a real team would have rallied and fought to earn new fans(in this case any fans), instead Hasslett makes his ridiculous demands, Joe Horn is too full of himself to care, Duece McCallister is hurt & probably ready to leave just like Aaron Brooks. It`s one thing to always be a losing franchise like Detroit & Arizona, but both those crummy teams have lavish new stadiums to pollute with losing. It`s time to contract the lousy saints franchise and clear the way for a real owner and expansion city to form a new, proud idenity. Shame on you Saints, all field goals vs. the Lions...unwatchable garbage! Sure they didn`t mess up and win like the 49ers(Ha-ha!), but they`ll screw up the draft just like always. The solution is clear-Contract the Saints franchise and banish Tom Benson from the NFL!
