I`m really tired of all the A-Rod excuses for his pathetic play. After taking the lousy Seattle series off with a soar throat, the mighty Rod returned to be humiliated in LA with a big fat O-fer 5 & 4K`s! Well done Mr best player in the game/highest paid designated windmill. Look A-Rod you are NO Tiger Woods and the Yankees can`t afford to keep playing your caddie Nick Green at third while you figure out the next lame #### excuse for a wild throw. It is time to man up stop whiffing all the time and get ready for a legit playoff run. Being dominated by the Angels is so completely frustrating. I can`t wait till yet another west coast losing steak is over. I think of A-Rod now like the new Domino`s pizza add with Fudgems. Oh...you haven`t seen that comedy yet? He`s a giant walking #### that shows up with pizza delivery guy and leaves a big duck butter skid on a kid who hugs it. Go meet Fudgems, see him dance or make errors at www.fudgems.com!! Ooohh Fudgems!!!
Where`s the former gold glove SS, now thirdbaseman????
Sure we`re all sick of hearing about the status or lack there of on Sammy Sosa attempting to take up space on the Nats roster or retire. Before you think I`m just gonna pile on, is it that wrong for a guy who batted .221 and battled more injuries to walk away? Yes it`s obvious his batting average and power numbers tumbled after 2001`s .327 64HR/160RBI-(How crazy are those #`s!) Basically Sammy was respectable until his attitude forced him outta Chicago and to the lowly Baltimore O`s where they collect old washed up DH types. It`s really a shame Sammy left the Chicago Cubs on such terrible terms. If anyone shoulda retired as a Cub since 1975 it was Sammy Sosa.(Sandberg retired twice-doesn`t count!) Unfortunately he has no one to blame but himself. Can`t even pin that one solely on Dusty Baker. Now the debate on if the know it all writers will grant him membership to Cooperstown after the cork incident and an obvious stretch of juiced up years.(66HR`s/63/50/64/49)-from 1998 until 2002. He helped save the game of MLB chasing and admiring another home run legend the embattled Mark McGwire. But the focus and strikes against will always be on the strong su####ion Sammy sosa was juiced outta his mind. To that I say he is in the exact same boat as another aging slugger who was once a fast, skinny OF for the Pittsburgh Pirates. McGwire started his career as a HR threat 49 his first full season, before adding on super human muscle mass. As for Sosa I applaud him for hangin em up rather than put on those silly Nats uni`s and fail. The best thing he can do to repent is give back to his native land and help youngsters play the game the right way. He deserves his spot in the HOF, it`s just gonna take several years of voting to be forgiven.
A recent Sporting News article showed sour ####, poor sport, cry baby Jeff Weaver suppousedly excercising(Laughing, right Jeff ) as part of the Scott Borass master plan for his clients. It was one of the funniest things I`ve seen since Marlins ownership promised to stay commited to the city of Florida. Jeff Weaver is blessed with a resiliant and durable right arm, no heart or intelligence to want to learn or get better. Looking back, he was the one time lowly Detroit Tigers "ace" Then he washed out so bad as a NY Yankee including a game winning W.S. blast that may not have landed yet he was banished to the NL. Being in the NL worked, b/c it still favors pitching or at least lets other starters avoid big innings and pitch counts by making them try to hit. Pitching in the best pitchers park around Ol Dodger Stadium Weaver was around .500, but very durable 200+ IP`s and many quality starts(What kinda dork stat is that?) Thanks, I`ll stick to W`s & L`s evaluating starters. Jeff Weaver just doesn`t get it and he`ll never be anything but a skinny, wild hair side armin bum who is now faced with no team left willing to throw huge money at him. Not even pitching poor Texas or Baltimore would fall for that. As for the pictures in that article. A frown on Weavers ugly #### with a long sleave sweater on and brand new, un-broken in black sneakers tells the story. He hasn`t worked hard, never will and is as familiar with the inside o####ym as a winning record. Sorry Dream Weaver no soup for you!
Mr Red Sox Ol Pete Gammons sure sounds like Kevin Bacon at the end of Animal House shouting "All is Well!" as complete chaos erupts around him. Sure the Sox got over big on the Fish fire sale of 05 landing Josh Beckett, Mike Lowell & even demanding reliever Guillermo Mota as a "throw in." Yes they also have several starting pitchers, but those big holes at shortstop & center field aren`t going to be magically resolved in a deal with the Devil Dogs. Tampa Bay might be the most unreasonable team to try and trade with ever. Well, unless your the Mets...Scott Kazmir for that junk?! Preston Wilson went to Houston, and all that`s left is Corey Patterson and Dusty killed his confidence. Face it Pete, the idiots are all but gone and don`t think Schilling, Wells & Beckett will last the season without a DL visit. Enjoy that one title Pete, we took your cave man cleaned his #### up and now he`s walking upright and ready to score 120+ runs as a Yankee. How bout them marbles Gammons!! The death mobile rides again & it`s got a big NY on the side!
Why in the hell did the the St Louis Cardinals actually sign big fat Sidney Ponson??? His claim to fame or infamy is the DWI`s & fights he gets into to. So this 6-1 253lbs(Right...try 275) junkballer from the O`s is gonna help get the Cardinals further than the last two years. Please, Dave Duncan could be a magician but he won`t stop Ol Sid from drinkin, stayin fat & being a losing pitcher. Why any team, let alone the respectable Cardinals would hand over millions to this slob is beyond me. The Cards have a solid front four in Carpenter, Mulder, Marquis & Suppan. Why not use that money to retain Matt Morris? Hell, buy as much Budweiser possible for $8 million dollars and it`s better spent than having a big fat loser like Ponson polute your clubhouse. Enjoy Tony LaRussa & Co. the chances of big Sid staying sober in St Louis are about the same as your team winning it all...no chance!!!!! You owe an apology to the greatest fans in the game for bringing in that fat tub of ERA, shame on you St Louis.
It`s no wonder Miguel Tejada is so frustrated with the sorry Orioles front office. How many 36 year old DH types does one team need? Sure Burnitz will hit his homers, but he`s just a swing from his heels human windmill who is better off elsewhere. Giving him $10-$12 million for two years instead of adding pitching is just another in the long line of failure from Peter Angelos and his sorry management. Maybe he thought it was critical to have Burnitz, the man who replaced Sosa in Chicago last year in Baltimore to do the same. Looking at the current junk list...err roster I see Jeff Conine-age 39 another over the hill DH. Signing Ramon Hernandez at Catcher is ok, but why with Javy Lopez already on board? Or is Javy the DH? Sure he`ll like that. Some things never change and for the once proud Oriole franchise losing is now the norm. Sure hope they can hold off the D-rays for 4th place in the AL East in 2006.
Twas the night before Christmas and all through the red sox front office not a creature was stirring...Uncle Larry falls fast asleep dreaming of total control and adulation, only to awaken by the bickering of his dual GM brats. Loud arguing fueled by Sam Adams Ale...Ben(GM1): Great deal you assjacker young Andy Marte for third base, what the hell do we do at short stop or with Mike Lowell?!!? Jeddy(GM2): Uh-Huh-huh-like I got Mark Loretta for some backup backstop. Ben(GM1) You fool, now we have NO one who can catch Wake`s knuckler....we are DOOMED!! Jeddy(GM2) Jonathan Papelbon!...burp...Jonathan Papelbon!...Danforth & Pape! Ben(GM1) Damn it Jeddy Manny`s on line 1 again...we still have Gabe Crapler for CF right? Jeddy(Drunk) I knew I shoulda kept that Theo guys master plan disk...damn e-bay & happy hour! Ben(GM1) Sure Manny, everything is under control...hanging up fast. Um--Uncle Larry, can you read us another story?
As a Yankee fan who hated Damon with the Sox, him joining the Yanks absolutey rips the heart of the Red Sox lineup. He is a solid leadoff hitter, with some pop who will score 100+ runs again. So his arm in CF is as bad as Ol Bernies....no matter, he`s a proven CF who can track it down and that`s far better than the thought of Jason Michaels or Bubba Crosby. Looks like the two headed GM monster better call Florida...oh wait, Juan Pierre`s already a Cub. At least Gabe Crapler`s back in Bean Town right? I can hear Pete Gammons cryin now....
