A-Rod is Fudgems!
Aug 26, 2006 | 8:41AM | report this

I`m really tired of all the A-Rod excuses for his pathetic play. After taking the lousy Seattle series off with a soar throat, the mighty Rod returned to be humiliated in LA with a big fat O-fer 5 & 4K`s! Well done Mr best player in the game/highest paid designated windmill. Look A-Rod you are NO Tiger Woods and the Yankees can`t afford to keep playing your caddie Nick Green at third while you figure out the next lame #### excuse for a wild throw. It is time to man up stop whiffing all the time and get ready for a legit playoff run. Being dominated by the Angels is so completely frustrating. I can`t wait till yet another west coast losing steak is over. I think of A-Rod now like the new Domino`s pizza add with Fudgems. Oh...you haven`t seen that comedy yet?   He`s a giant walking #### that shows up with pizza delivery guy and leaves a big duck butter skid on a kid who hugs it.  Go meet Fudgems, see him dance  or make errors at www.fudgems.com!! Ooohh Fudgems!!!

Where`s the former gold glove SS, now thirdbaseman????

.283, 26 HR, 93 RBI, 11 SB, and a .385 OBP are pretty crummy statistics, aren't they?

Well, yeah, when you compare them to his MVP numbers last year at .321, 48 HR, 130 RBI, 21 SB, and a .421 OBP.

But how many third basemen would you take over A-Rod? I wouldn't take anyone. You could make weak cases for Scott Rolen, Miguel Cabrera, and David Wright, but A-Rod is unequivocally the best third baseman in baseball, and will probably retire as one of the best to ever play baseball, with the likes of Ruth and Mantle and Gehrig.

slammin6 You've got to give it to A-Rod as he's taking so much abuse at the moment. But it can be said that he's fairing far better than Drew Henson whose basically stolen money from two organizations over the years.

Give the man his props !

tophatal- The Drew Henson topic is one of my favs to debate, but it has nothing to do with stealing money. If you wanna talk about robberies then it`s Carl Pavano who has spent more time sunning in Tampa than any retired senior citizen. I still think Henson if left to concentrate on baseball only and had been moved from third base to RF...he does have a great throwing arm right? Hey, all I`m sayin is it coulda worked. It`s a damn shame one of the greatest talents ever couldn`t settle on one sport.

UltraMegaOK- Yes the stats are great, so is A-Rod`s perfect hair and bank account. My point is he is melting under the preasure of Yankee Pinstripes to deliver a Championship. Third base is a pretty decent position right now in MLB and it goes far beyong Wright, Cabrera & Rolen. (See Atkins,Zimmerman,Ed.Encarnacion,Bla
lock,Chevez-not hitting since May and now even Teahen) How A-Rod surrounded in that crazy lineup--Damon/Jeter/Abreau...A-Rod/
Giambi/Posada has fallen apart is unbelievable! He should drive in 125 runs easy. Clearly after yesterdays humiliation A-Rod has lost his mind & all confidence. It is unacceptable to bat him second ever. It`s time to step up or beg outta NY for A-Fraud.

The Yankees are stuck with A-Rod and his large contract, unless Cashman wants to pay for about 80% of what's left. And for that to happen, Cashman would have to expect at least two top prospects in return, and I don't think any organization would do that for a declining third baseman.

Want A-Rod to perform better? Stop booing him.

slammin6 I don't exactly remember Pavano putting a gun to Cashamn's or Steinbrenner's head when he signed that contract. Better still Cashman had far better options at the time but he chose to take a chance on Pavano who even when he was with the Marlins was more known for his childish petulance and less of a work ethic than for his ptiching talent. That's why we got rid of him and the Yanks go 'bill of goods'.

tophatal- That`s all true on Pavano who is an absolute joke. I don`t think Cashman wanted him, and he certainly didn`t want to pay another bad pitching bandit in Jaret Wright. You can see that since Cashman has control over player moves and a small stake in ownership the Yankees are SO much better for it. Stienbrener paid Pavano just so the Red Sox didn`t have a shot at him. Guarantee those two bums are out as Cashman builds the dynasty back.

slammin6 A Rods' problem at the moment is trying to look the part of a legitimate MLB player whether it be on film or just for a print ad. Now that he finally has his chance I hope he takes it with an open arms.
