Complaining about the ball?
Dec 02, 2006 | 8:08AM | report this

Everyone already knows NBA players are the most overpaid bunch of babies in all of sports, but complaining about the "new" basketball?  PAH-LEASE!!  It`s nice to have that fallback excuse for bad shooting, turnovers and all around ugly play. Anyone else remember playing pick up games as a kid and having to choose the best ball?  I say let these rich brats bring their own ball to each game, or pay for one that suits their taste. It`s an absolute joke catching quotes from the likes of Shaq who still this many years later CAN`T SHOOT A FREE THROW. Lebron uses "the texture" excuse after an 7 for 20 something night....sure King we`ll bring you the finest slaughtered animal hide in all the land to watch you as long as you promise to play keep away from those other four stiffs on the floor with you. I really don`t give a rats #### if you have a gold coated, diamond encrusted ball how about playing a better brand of basketball no matter what ball you use?  I`m sure kids at the playground would gladly take any of the new "defective" balls from the NBA babies.

Nice to see all world A-Rod back on track.  I still think he`s just trying to become the pitch man for the OV Glove.  C`mon dude...take off those damn panda paw batting gloves and get your hands dirty like a real man Alexis!

Someone please get Joe Paterno some new glasses!
Aug 27, 2006 | 7:51PM | report this

All joking aside, Joe Pa can and will stay on the Penn State sideline until he crokes but for the love of god can someone, anyone get the old war horse a pair of new pair of spectacles already!!  It`s ok to wear the same khakis and old school cleats to stand on the sidelines, but those magnifying glasses are thirty years past time. You can`t tell me the old man can see a darn thing out there at all. This has nothing to do with getting him out or that the game has passed him by, I just think he should be brought into this decade and be able to see one of the games.

Invinceable?

Most people today can`t imagine the pre 1980`s NFL. One that had an open try out in Philly by the coach the Mtv generation only knows by him crying at everything from Kurt Warner to Kansas City`s running game. I`ll see the movie eventually, and really like the fact that a blue collar hero really did exist.  The way things are today we are saddled with Koren Robinson the now ex-Viking, Mo Clarett & Adam "pac man" Jones.  The NFL will never be like it was, and the spoiled brats of today can thank those who really gave everything they had just to wear the uniform.

Silly Phillies
Aug 27, 2006 | 10:12AM | report this

This all started back in 1998 when JD Drew refused to come play in that "hellhole." The Phils drafted the mighty Pat "the bat" Burrell golden spikes winner from the U of Miami. He was legend on and off the field...more on that later. So to make sure he`d sign, the Phils took his best bud and drinking pal Jason Michaels in round 4. Add to that mix over the years Jeremy Giambi and you have a trio very interested in the MLB nightlife. Burrell`s career in Philly has been all over the place, from showing world class power like new star Ryan Howard to hitting .200 and now being a ten million dollar platoon player. C`mon Phils you clearly traded the wrong outfielder and have to eventually clean up the play pen of drinking and chasing female groupies...err fans that is Pat Burrell!  Rest assured Stand Pat Gillick won`t get it done and Charlie Manuel isn`t gonna last long.  But hey...Pat may be mediocre on the field, but he is a hall of famer chasing tail off it. If only his stories of conquests could help the Phils or get him in the hall of fame.  Don`t stop chasin em Pat!!!

A-Rod is Fudgems!
Aug 26, 2006 | 8:41AM | report this

I`m really tired of all the A-Rod excuses for his pathetic play. After taking the lousy Seattle series off with a soar throat, the mighty Rod returned to be humiliated in LA with a big fat O-fer 5 & 4K`s! Well done Mr best player in the game/highest paid designated windmill. Look A-Rod you are NO Tiger Woods and the Yankees can`t afford to keep playing your caddie Nick Green at third while you figure out the next lame #### excuse for a wild throw. It is time to man up stop whiffing all the time and get ready for a legit playoff run. Being dominated by the Angels is so completely frustrating. I can`t wait till yet another west coast losing steak is over. I think of A-Rod now like the new Domino`s pizza add with Fudgems. Oh...you haven`t seen that comedy yet?   He`s a giant walking #### that shows up with pizza delivery guy and leaves a big duck butter skid on a kid who hugs it.  Go meet Fudgems, see him dance  or make errors at www.fudgems.com!! Ooohh Fudgems!!!

Where`s the former gold glove SS, now thirdbaseman????

When it`s time to bench your son Part II
Feb 20, 2006 | 6:31PM | report this

West Virginia and head coach John Beilein are falling apart at the worst time, and a big reason is he`s giving too many minutes & far too many long three point attempts to his son Patrick. I realize this is not an easy topic to tackle, but that`s why they pay me the big bucks. Patrick Beilein who is a decent contributor and shooter off the WVA  bench was ice cold Saturday at home vs. top ranked UConn and cost them a chance at a huge win. Sure Patrick Beilein had a nice first half tonight against the Cuse with 15...all on 3 pointers of course.(That`s all WVA has) Don`t get me wrong I like WVA and root for them against anyone but the Cuse, but the point here is not going to the proven WVA playmakers Gansey(Who leads the Big East in shooting %) & Pittsnogel has cost WVA two huge Big East games and any chance at a conference title. John Beilein wanted everything on this homecoming back in Western NY, he had the better team & the ranked team vs. Jim Boeheim`s stumbling Orange. His son Patrick was the showcase shooter launching several three`s early and making five in that first half. Unfortunately with the game on the line he let that get the best of him and didn`t go to Gansey or Pittsnogle when they needed it most. With that win SU has a good chance of getting into the dance, while WVA will have to regroup to try for another miracle run like last year. I for one hope they can do it. It`s my opinion that John Beilein should have limited his son`s minutes and certainly shots, after all he is the sixth man on that squad. If he had they would have beaten UConn & possibly SU tonight.
