Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin were up to their usual on Track and Pit Lane tirades in Charlotte Memorial Day Weekend and Who got into trouble? Tony Eury Sr. Crew Chief of the #88 Nationwide JR Motorsports Chevy and a couple of his crew members for their part in the pit lane fight between Denny Hamlin and the # 20 Nationwide JGR Toyota Crew.
Denny did not like the fact that Brad Kesolowski and Dale Jr. were racing him hard for position in the final laps of the Carquest 300. WHAT DO YOU EXPECT YOU WHINER. It does not matter if Brad is just a Nationwide regular and you and Junior only do the Nationwide Series part time. YOU HAVE TO EARN THE POSITIONS YOU GET and RACE HARD to get them. That is why Dale Jr. has TWO NATIONWIDE (FORMERLY BUSCH) Championships and is CURRENTLY AHEAD OF DENNY IN THE CUP SERIES POINTS. Junior and Brad do not go and WHINE when the other 42 drivers they are against race them hard because that is the reason for the RACE. That is why Brad bumped Denny is Brad did not like the fact that Denny was trying to take him out before Denny knocked the left front in on Brad's car. Then Denny found out the hard way YOU DO NOT #### OFF JUNIOR. And then Denny and his crew had the gall to go after Brad's crew and NASCAR just punished Brad's crew WRONG. NASCAR NEEDS TO PUNISH DENNY and the #20 JGR CREW for their actions on the TRACK and on PIT LANE as well. If it is any one who will be throwing concrete blocks and not rocks I think that it will be Junior during the Cup races against Denny and Kyle B, and Brad during the Nationwide races against Denny.
Kyle Busch confronted Jeff Gordon on Pit Lane after the Coca-Cola 600 because Kyle did not like his former Hendrick Teammate racing him for third at the end of the 600. AGAIN WHINER what does Kyle B. expect all the other 42 drivers to get out of his way and when are theses PUNKS going to learn HAVE TO EARN THE POSITIONS AND RACE HARD TO GET AND KEEP THEM. YOU DO NOT #### OFF A 4-TIME CUP CHAMPION in that manner who knows that racing hard is part of the game. Neither Kyle B. or Jeff have gotten into trouble with NASCAR for this altercation because on punches were thrown.
What NASCAR needs to do with Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin is do what they did with Jimmy Spencer, Kevin Harvick and Ted Musgrave. Suspend them from racing in any NASCAR Series not just for one race but until the start of the Chase and maybe Kyle B. and Denny may learn that what they have been doing on the track and in Pit Lane is not safe but STUPID.
Great Blog sdstrasser but, you have to remember, Toyota is getting a free pass this year on everything and, it is not just the Gibbs boys. Michael Waltrip rammed Casey Mears and was pushing him around the track. The only punishment that Waltrip got was being parked. No fines and no suspension. And people are wondering why some of these teams can't get or, keep sponsors.
sds - I agree with a lot of what you said but also echo what noahspop said. Jr. did ram Hamlin so don't be too quick to park everyone.
Having said that I believe your assessment of Denny Hamlin is perfect. He is a whiner but gets over shadowed by others so it isn't as apparent. Remember last year it was always the crews fault?
If Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch don't like the way they are getting raced in the Busch series they can choose not to, plain & simple! Kyle Busch should be parked anyway, IMO, for threatening to wreck Steven Wallace "how ever many cars it takes" after a previous Busch race.
I'm not a Dale Jr. fan but not a basher either. I find it ammusing when people say he's overrated. You don't win 17 races at this level when you're overrated. Overhyped I will agree but not overrated. Not a Kyle Busch fan either but he can sure drive. Good blog...bluejay
Denny Hamlin is nothing but a whiner. If he can't handle a little hard nosed racing action, he should get the hell off the damn track. Kyle is turning out to be like his brother did in 2003, when Kurt was winning races. Perhaps Kyle Busch needs to be punched in the face to be taught some respect.

NASCAR doesn't punish drivers for whining. The three drivers you mention that NASCAR parked committed dangerous on track actions, or struck another driver with their hands.
I'm no Hamlin fan, but I am unbiased. Why should Denny get punished for his ON track actions? Shouldn't Brad get punished, as he hit Denny first, under caution? Jr should have been punished for sticking his nose into a disagreement between two other drivers, when he hit Denny under caution. Apparently, Jr has to fight Brad's fights for him. How sweet.
Denny and his crew never left their pit stall. Brad and Jr's boys left their's to assault the 20 crew.
Kyle confronted Jeff after the race? Oh, my. Call the cops. It's OK for Jr to use his car as a battering ram when he gets pissed off? But Kyle can't talk face to face, like a man, when he gets pissed off?
Well to me it looks like all three drivers got a pass for their on track offenses. None of the three drivers, Brad, Denny or JR were penalized for what happened on the track. Hmm? I don't think Denny's crew went after Brad's crew. But the JMS crew members were penalized for leaving their pit area to confront Hamlin/crew, not following the directive of a NASCAR official and improper contact with a NASCAR official. I guess you thought Denny should be penalized but not Brad or Jr. If they handed out point penalties for whining, if they did there would be a few of the top 35 who would be GOGH and a couple past chamions who would not have their titles. RW for one.
I could not agree with you more. NASCAR needs to handle the ego problems of Hamlin and Busch. Its fine when they push people but they cry when people push back. It's called racing. So drive your car and shut your mouth, because no one agrees with you anyway.

I'm not a big Kevin Harvick fan but I don't believe he punched anyone. He got parked for a Cup race for a shoving match after the race in the TRUCK series. My personal opinion was NASCAR was sending a message to a rookie in the Cup series but they will never admit to it. 12-4-A is what they called it but again it was in the TRUCK series and he sat in the Cup series the following race. How was that fair to RCR and the 29 team?...bluejay
Well your suggestion to suspend Kyle Busch and Hamlin is STUPID. Kurt Busch purposely almost ran over a member of Tony Stewart's pit crew last year at Dover and did not get suspended for using his car as a weapon. So because drivers and crews have confrontations on pit road that means they should sit out races?
Your bio says your 39 years old but how much NASCAR racing have you watched in your lifetime? This stuff happens every 3 races. Oh...I see...your a Dale Jr. fan....never mind...card-carrying member of Jr. Nation where only other drivers and their crews can do wrong. Did you ever see how his father race?
Bluejay39 - Harvick purposely punted Coy Gibbs, which took him out of the race. NASCAR decided to park him and he drove his truck straight to the NASCAR hauler and parked it. He was suspended because of his petulance toward the governing body. That is a little more than whining.
For everyone WHINING about drivers WHINING. Why would NASCAR suspend someone for doing that to anyone but to question their own authority? Is that any different than "trash talk" in the stick and ball sports? Please get some perspective about competition, people. Have those who've complained EVER played an organized sport? If you had, you would realize that it is a common occurence, Jeez.
I have WATCH NASCAR all my life MIND YOU and this is not the first time I have thought this about drivers who get away with using their cars as WEAPONS on the Track, in the Garage, and on Pit Lane then go after the other drivers and crews on Pit Lane and the garage area after they get out of their cars. Davey Allison used to do this all the time, so did Kyle Petty in he younger days and Ernie Irvan was notorious for doing it until NASCAR sat him down and told him that if he did not stop his TIRADES he would permantly lose his credentials.
Kyle Busch has so far taken out two drivers this year and not so much as a WARNING. Kyle wrecked Johnny Benson battling for the lead of the Truck Race at Atlanta (by the way Johnny is driving Toyotas) and of course Kyle B. took out Junior in the Cup Race at Richmond while they battled for the lead. Kyle DOES NOT CARE if he has to take another driver out to win but if another Driver races him just as hard Kyle B. WHINES.
What happened during the Nationwide race at Lowe's is the fact Junior and Brad DID NOT DO DAMAGE to Denny's car all they were doing was showing Denny their displeasure. I have a feeling that Denny was doing to Junior as he was doing to Brad, trying to take both of them out because Denny DID NOT LIKE the fact that Junior and Brad were racing him fair, and HARD. Denny has done this a few times eariler this year at Daytona, Talladega, and Vegas as well and WAS NOT GIVEN A WARNING.
Junior, Brad and even Jeff Gordon were given WARNINGS about their driving at Talladega and at Atlanta. Yes I think that any d
Yeah, as far as the Kyle-Dale Jr. contact at Richmond - refer to my comment above. See nothing through the Jr. c*o*l*o*r*e*d glasses?
You didn't mention Dale Sr. Were you a fan? Ask Richard Petty, Bobby Allison and Cale Yarborough about old Ironhead.
It is revisionist history to say that drivers that have incidents on the track or in the pits, NOW have to be suspended - That is why I slammed your suggestion. Plus it goes against what the media and NASCAR want - showcase the drama and the stars.
sds...You may have WATCH NASCAR all your life, but you haven't picked up much. You think Kyle Petty used his car as a weapon? He may have, but not intentionally. He just can't drive. NASCAR never sat Irvan down over TIRADES. Don't remember him ever having a TIRADE. Risky driving, yes. TIRADES, no. You do know the defininition of TIRADE, don't you?
Amazing that you see no problem with cars being used as weapons on the track---as long as it's Jr and Brad---, but your granny panties are in a big knot over some percieved whining.
What was Brad doing pulling up beside Denny under caution? He had already hit Denny once. Denny wasn't going to let him get another free one.
I am a true Dale Jr fan, You say in your post Dale bump another driver, and say how the others should get slaped/fine for what they did. WRONG!
Mosbey and Hanahan might not be Dale Jr fans but they are right on comments, I say the cup drivers don't belong in Nationwide because some of them do think they should get it easy sometimes from the regulers. This only causes problems when push comes to shove. Its great to stand up for your driver as long as you look both ways and not one.
Forensic2 - I like Dale Jr. Think he is a good young man and a very good, but not great driver. I also have no problem with 99% of his fans. The ones that can see logically about how he stacks up vs. the rest of NASCAR. But that 1% really have started to grate on me lately.
I got very angry when Dale Sr. wrecked Terry Labonte at Bristol in 1999 (just like 1995)and then made the comment about "not wanting to wreck him, just rattle his cage." Terry never tried to wreck anyone in his entire racing career, but I still would not have wanted Dale to get suspended for a race. The sport is about passion and we can't let them take it away.
Ok, tirades? How about Jimmy Spencer complaining about what's his face at Dega in 2001. Know what NASCAR did about it? Gave us the "no passing under the yellow line" rule at Dega and Daytona.
Please don't give us more rules or penalties for showing emotions.
Beyond that, if you read the penalties, et al., I believe the crews that were fined was more for their actions against the NASCAR officials (not obeying them or whatever) and not for their actions against the other crew. Just my two cents.
Hanahan The reason why I brought this up is that BRIAN FRANCE DOES NOT HAVE THE BALLS to do what his father did to Dale Earnhardt and Geoffery Bodine in the late 80's and early 90's and to Ernie Irvan a few years later. Bill Jr. sat down all three drivers and told them if they DID NOT STOP their TIRADES on and off the Track (IE Purposely wrecking other drivers and each other) Bill would make sure that Dale Sr., Geoffery, and Ermie would NO LONGER BE ABLE TO WORK IN ANY RACE SACTIONING SERIES. I remember quite well that Bill had Dale Sr. and Geoffery with Chidress and Hendrick in Daytona one year befor the 500 to tell Dale and Geoffery the news.
Brian needs to do this with Kyle Busch and Denny Hamlin so NO DRIVERS, CREW MEMBERS, MEDIA, or OFFICALS are hurt or killed because Kyle and Denny think that they are the only ones who can race hard and that they feel they have to wreck other drivers no matter if they are on the track, the Pit Lane or Garage.
I do agree if a driver retaliates on the track that driver NO MATTER WHO IT IS SHOULD BE PARKED AS WELL.
In other words I DO KNOW WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT. I a daugther of a retired WEST COAST Super Modifed Driver who is if he want to race again STILL Licenced by NASCAR to race.

HAnahan you the MAN here, the only one with the BALLS to say whats really correct here...
People stop crying first of all Brad K was in the wrong he hit Denny under caution,Denny retaliatied
neither was inthe right, but first lets think about this....WHO WAS THE ADULT HERE AND IN THE WRONG?
JUNIOR,HE SHOULD OF NOT RAN UP THERE AND HIT DENNY,HE SHOULD BE THE ONE SETTING A GOOD EXAMPLE FOR THE YOUNG BRAD K.....COME ON DON'T TELL ME THERE'S NO ONE OUT HERE THAT DON'T AGREE WITH ME, IF THIS IS ALL I CAN SAY IS YOU WILL GET OVER IT!!!!
