Vick's Lawyer Lied: Did Anyone Catch it?
Jul 27, 2007 | 3:07PM | report this
Guess what! The trial has not even begun, and Michael Vick’s lied! Can you believe it? Vick’s lawyer said that Mike prepared a brief statement, and in it he supposedly apologizes to his team mates for not attending “Spring Training.” Hahahahahahaha. Vick did not write that his lawyer did, and do you know why? There is no such thing as “Spring Training” in football. Unless Michael Vick has the IQ of a sponge he would know that his profession does not include anything called “Spring Training.” The lawyer did not misread the letter, rather he wrote the letter with incorrect facts. You have to love the stupidity of Michael Vick and his lawyer. The lawyer for spending three years in law school (and a year studying for the bar) to make a stupid mistake like lying and getting caught, and Michael Vick for hiring a stupid lawyer that gets caught lying. Oh yeah . . . and for dog fighting.

Goodell is a Hypocrite!
Jul 19, 2007 | 6:38PM | report this

I really liked his tough no nonsense attitude this off-season, in fact many thought he was a little too quick to make such harsh decisions. Well it turns out that this commissioner whom I thought was worthy of praise has become a coward and a hypocrite. He slapped Adam Jones with a ten game suspension before any indictment, he handed down an eight game suspension to Tank Johnson, and quickly suspended Chris Henry.

Michael Vick has not been found guilty for anything, but he has been indicted. When the Federal Investigators press charges they do not falter, and they get their man, it is not like a local detective that found a little evidence and wants to press charges, these investigators do not bring charges to court without merit and much certainty.

Goodell said he would handle each player on a case by case manner, yet he did not do so with Adam Jones, rather he looked at his brushes with the law in a cumulative manner, and then suspended him. I do not mind that, but there must be parity when distributing punishment, and such has not been demonstrated by Goodell. Now he claims that he wants to wait. He did not wait for the previous players that were set before him to be punished, but now that Michael Vick is place before him to be judged and he suddenly wants to proceed with caution. This is ridiculous!

Jones has been suspended before he has been found guilty of anything. What about punishing Michael Vick? I think the true colors of Goodell are showing now, and I am very disappointed with what I see.

Goodell is a lion with no teeth, for he is quick to jump and attack the little guys, but when dealing with superstars he hides like the cowardly lion. At this point players that were suspended should be outrage by this double standard.

Great Guys: Green and Simmons Vs. Portis and Vick
May 22, 2007 | 4:21PM | report this

Negativity receives a lot of attention, but what about those that contribute good to society?

I recently posted a blog that has 240+ (and still growing) hits. I was dealing with Portis and his ignorant comments that dismissed Mike Vick's appalling act of dog fighting (not to mention the other illegal activities that he is involved with). While we have fools like Portis and Vick in the NFL (and many seemed to be condoning their behavior) there are those that actually do good in the NFL, but they seem to fall under the radar.

Jason Simmons, a somewhat mediocre DB on the Houston Texans, was recently asked by Ahman Green for his number thirty. This is not the first time its happened in Pro Sports. Sometimes this request to change a number can cost as little as a few beers, and as much as tens of thousands of dollars.

Simmons asked Green to help a poor family buy a home. NOW THAT IS A STAND UP GUY!

Sadly Simmons and players like him receive little or no accolades. Perhaps people think that doing a good deed should go without saying (and perhaps they are right), but with people questioning the integrity of the NFL and other pro sports, examples like Jason Simmons and Ahman Green should be brought to light.

Portis is a Fool and needs to be Reprimanded
May 21, 2007 | 7:36PM | report this

I had always respected Clinton Portis, but after viewing his brief interview on Mike Vick's involvement with dog fighting I can no longer say he is a man worthy of respect. There are many things that humans do that are worse than dog fighting, but to trivialize the crime is offensive and the sign of unintelligence. A crime is a crime! Unlike the crimes that are committed against humans, which are often avoidable, for people often cause their own injury, dogs are totally dependent on the charity of people.

Just as any employee that make a fool of the company where he is employed, Portis needs to be reprimanded, for he has made the NFL and its players look like uneducated ignoramuses. If Goodell cares anything about the NFL's image then he needs to take appropriate action.

It is very sad that the right of a citizen's freedom of speech has been abused. If citizen's (that is if Portis is a citizen) act as impudently as Portis than he does not have a right to speak freely, for only those that appreciate the freedoms (they however limited they may be) have possess the right to utilize them. If Mike Vick is convicted he should be banned from the NFL, if he is not than there is no reason for him not to play. However, he needs to watch the company he keeps otherwise problems such as these will continue to surface.

The problem with Mike Vick is that he gives his fans no reason to doubt the recent accusations.
