Yes all you Cowboy fans I said dominate. So go ahead and talk all the
trash you want, but when Monday rolls around and we go in your house
and trash you like a high-school cafeteria your going to wish you
didn't.
Here are my five reasons.
5. Jim Johnson- Yes the Eagles Defensive Coordinator. Against the
Browns Romo had all day to throw. I mean he could have taken the snap,
ordered a coffee from Starbucks, drinkin the coffee, had a conversation
with Jessica about how tuna isn't really chicken, peed his coffee out,
and then thrown the ball. You know with the Eagles young, athletic,
talented front seven and Ol' Jim's blitzing schemes and tendencies that
won't be the case. Romo will be pressured and be forced to throw before
he wants which leds to my next reason.
4. The Eagles Secondary- As I said Romo will be forced to throw before
he wants and when you throw before you want into a secondary full of
playmakers bad things tend to happen. Or good things if you look at it
from my standpoint. Asante Samuel, Lito Sheppard, Sheldon Brown, and
Brian Dawkins will all be looking to make big plays when Romo tosses
the ball without looking for fear of having his head ripped of by Trent
Cole.
3. LJ Smith- You might think third on this list is a little high for LJ
but Donovan showed me last week that now LJ is healty, he is by far his
favorite red zone target. After struggling mightily in the red zone
last year the Eagles looked solid against the Rams. LJ caught one touchdown pass and was targeted several other times inside the 20. The red zone offense may very well determine the game and no one is more important to that than LJ Smith.
2. Desean Jackson- After watching him all preseason and in Week 1 I am ready to call him a bonified playmaker with game breaking ability. He had 106 receiving and 95 punt return yards against the Rams. Two of those punts were almost taken to the house. One he was litterally tripped from the side with no one in front of him and if it wasn't for that shoe string tackle he would have taken it the distance. The other he was pushed out of bounds around the 7 yard line after a solid 60 yard return. Not to mention his fantastic 40 yard reception on the second play of the game. One huge play from Desean, on offense or special teams, and that might be all she wrote for Dallas.
1. Donovan McNabb- A few seasons ago he was hands down a top 3 QB in the league. Three injury plagued years and now he's nothing? No, I don't think so. Two years removed from a torn ACL and he has looked like the Donovan of old times. A fantastic preseason followed by a fantastic opening game. I think he will be extra motivated this season to prove everyone out there who is doubting him wrong. I expect another huge week from #5.
Pacman Jones was partially reinstated in the NFL today. He will be allowed to participate in everything except for regular season games. A final decision will be made on Pacman on September 1st. As long as he doesn't get into any leagl trouble he should be able to be participate in regular season games. But does it matter.....no. Does anyone really care.... no.
About five minutes after hearing the Pacman news I heard that Travis Henry was released because of "commitment issues." Sounds like someone the Cowboys would like to sign. Considering they got locker room cancer Terrell Owens and criminal Pacman Jones. Why not pothead/lack of commitment Travis Henry. He's a perfect fit.
