I mean when the "best" team in the ACC loses to a "middle of the road" SEC team by 24, and really the score makes it sound closer because Clemson's only touchdown was a CJ Spiller kick return, thats bad. You add in the fact that the "second best" team lost to ECU, no offense to ECU they have a solid football team, but Virginia Tech should beat them every time. Heres how the rest of ACC ( Absolute #### Conference) faired.
North Carolina State loses by 34 to South Carolina- two middle of the road teams from each conference and looked what happened
Wake Forest beats Baylor by 28- Congrats you played Baylor
Miami beats Charelston Southern by 45- too bad your gonna lose by 45 when you play Florida next week
Georgia Tech beats Jacksonville State by 27- you better win this game
Virginia loses by 45 to USC- obviously your not supposed to win this one but you could of kept it under 28 points... oh just kidding
Maryland beats Deleware by 7... way too close against Deleware
North Carolina beats McNeese State by 8... way too close against McNeese
Duke beats James Madison by 24- conference champions anyone... just kidding
Boston College beats Kent State by 21- wow shocker (sarcasm)
In my opinion the MWC is probably as good as the ACC, maybe even C-USA. What happened to the ACC?
The other day I was curious as to who everones least favorite team(s) and player(s) are in sports so I decided to ask. Everyone who do you hate the most and why?
For me in the NFL its the Cowboys and Patriots. I hate the Cowboys mainly because I'm an Eagles fan. I hate the Patriots because they win all the time, get every call in every game, beat the Eagles in the Super Bowl, and beat the Eagles this past season which pretty much ended any chance at the Eagles making the playoffs. My two least favorite players in the NFL are Tony Romo and Terrell Owens for obvious reasons.
In Baseball, as a Red Sox fan I obviously hate the Yankees the most by far. My least favorite player by far is Alex Rodriguez because well he is a huge tool and he is a Yankee.
In the NBA I cannot stand the Detriot Pistons. I don't really have a reason for hating the Pistons, they did beat my Sixers but that was very expected and I hated them long before that. But there is something about them that I can't stand. I don't really have a least favorite NBA player, but for some reason Kevin Garnett and Manu Ginobili have always been disliked by me.
In NCAA sports my least favorite college is Florida State. That comes from me being a Gator. It's hard to have a least favorite college player because they are all just kids and most are only stars for a year or two so I am going to pass on this one.
I don't care enough to talk about the NHL or any other sport, but if you want to feel free to say who you hate in any sport including NASCAR, golf, Tennis, or anything else I am leaving off this list.
Every year there are games that define the college football season. They decide who plays for National Championships and who doesn't. These are my top 5, most important games in 2008.
5. Alabama @ Clemson- 8/30/08
Many people have Clemson in their top 10 and Alabama, well, not so much. Clemson's easy schedule allows them to have a chance at a National Championship game this season. Alabama hopes to show off their #1 recruiting class. This might be Clemson's only real chance at losing. Once they get rolling it will be hard for any ACC team to beat them. So Alabama will try and catch them off guard week 1 and ruin their National Chamionsip dreams. If not, it might be a long year for the Crimson Tide.
4. Missouri @ Texas- 10/18/08
Two top 10 teams in many peoples preseason top 25. This is a huge Big 12 match-up between teams dreaming big right now. Despite being on different sides of the Big 12 this game will provide a costly loss to one of the teams involved for a conference championship. The winner will likely be sitting pretty for a conference championship game bid, and maybe a National Championship game.
3. Texas @ Oklahoma- 10/11/08
You have to feel bad for Texas as they play two of the most important games of the year. Not only does this game have huge Conference and National Championship dreams on the line, it also has bragging rights in one of college football's best rivalries. Two top ten teams will be dueling out in, in my opinion, the most competetive conference in college football next season.
2. Ohio State @ Southern Cal- 9/13/08
One of the most anticipated non-conference games ever. Two top 5 teams will be playing for, most likely, the #1 ranking in college football. Ohio State looks to take an early edge over the field to return to the National Championship for the third straight season. While USC is trying to prove that they can get back for the first time since falling to Texas.
1. Florida vs. Georgia- 11/01/08
The reason this game gets the edge over OSU @ USC is because it's a conference game. And because Florida and Georgia are both in the SEC East means that only one of them can be in the Confernce Championship game, and most likely it will be the winner of this game. Not to mention it is one of the best rivalries in college football. And the battle between Heisman hopefuls Tim Tebow and Knowshon Moreno.
I was born in Florida and went to college at UF. I used to live in Boston and Philly. I now reside in Houston, TX.
