IT'S TIME TO BE A THINKING AGAIN

IT'S TIME TO BE A THINKING AGAIN

I hear on the news that Stewart has made a pubic announcement he is buying into Haas Racing. I certainly hope he really checks out the accounting records on that team. Seems to me there were other teams just ripe for a major take over at a fraction of the cost of Haas racing. Kinda reminds me of A.J. Foyt when he started his own INDY car team. Nothing but disappointments for Foyt.

I hear DEI is trying to get investors to buy into their racing operation.  NO wait they are wanting to sell. No they are courting investors. Quite frankly who in their right mind would want an operation that has a warehouse  full of bagged sugar.

The ante has been upped with silliness this season.  Mark Martin the ever prepetual retiree is comming back to race 2 full time seasons with HMS. Just in case he might win a championship with HMS power. Well the odds of that happening is as great as Mikey Waltrip winning a race doing 55 MPH. Where are the beer cans comming from?

Brad K. and Joey L. are the latest hot NW drivers but where do they fit in on the silly season as far as getting a CUP ride next year?

UMM. Let me see. Stewart has 2 cars open for drivers if he stays out of one of the cars. At his age, it is time to pull a Rick Hendrick and run the team. I see success in that set up but failure other wise. OK. Quit throwing the beer cans!

Kyle Busch.  This year he is the golden boy of NASCAR. Next year watch out for Joey L. and Brad K. or any other hot young gun comming up from the NW ranks. Sorry Kyle, your days are numbered. NASCAR has announced you have to race with  a V6 engine to equalize the HP ratings. What. No Beer cans? Do I hear cheers?

Dale Jr. Boy is sheep dip going to hit the fan on this one. HMS has given Jr. the best set ups and the fastest cars the first half of the season. Sadly he has not won many races but has finished in the top 5 a few times. Sadly Jeff and Jimmie is about fed up with the favoritism and are demanding the better cars the rest of the season. They also want him to play like he was a team member and help them try to win rather than hang them out to dry. Ouch! The beer cans are flying now.

Thats enough for now. Ya'all come back now ya heah!

IS NASCAR REALLY THE WWE ON WHEELS?
Jul 08, 2008 | 7:27PM | report this

IS NASCAR REALLY THE W.W.E. ON WHEELS?

That question is in the same league as Charlie Browns "Is there really the Great Pumpkin on Halloween."

I have decided to put this question to the test and once and for all, reveal the facts.

Ok. We all know there has been commercials over the last few years with WWE wrestlers appearing in ads with the drivers. The Big show ( a 7ft goliath with a slow mind) and John Cena ( the crowd favorite that gets beat up all the time).

Under the guise of commercials were these "pro" wrestlers really in NASCAR circles to teach the NASCAR drivers how to act and carry on a rigged fight for crowd excitement? As it appears considering NASCAR letting up on the drivers emotions lately, that could appear to be a fact.

For many moons the fans have said NASCAR is fixing the races to favor a particular driver or bunch up the race to alter the last few laps . The always  mystery caution with 2 laps to go or less really seems to help that particular driver  that NASCAR wants to win. Looks that way. Doesn't it?

Well the fans got wise to that fact so they had to be more creative. In comes the WWE wrestling training. You know these guys really take hits that would normally half kill us if we took a hit like that. Now it seems at the last couple laps there is one driver that seems to take a spin with no one around him or he will slam into another driver to create a big wreck blocking the  other drivers making a last lap charge to the front.  Wonder if they use scrambled radios to convey the order? You can almost predict  the out come. Looks fishy doesn't it? Yes it does.

So what are we watching? A NASCAR race or the WWE on wheels? You be the judge?

Ok let me get to my extensive research on this topic. I have watched many tapes and scanned many radio frequencies to look for possible evidence that would disclose these allegations.

Numerous interviews with the drivers in undisclosed places away from the track were done to get to the truth. No tip was un turned to get the facts. Many thousands of hours was spent on this investigation to bring out the truth and now it is ready to be revealed.

It is my conclusion that these allegations are false. No evidence was ever turned up to reveal any WWE involvement in NASCAR and no evidence was ever disclosed that NASCAR alters the races. Sadly since the intrusion of the open wheeled drivers, there has been more sensless wrecks caused by their lack of driving experience with the cars. The other so called incidents were attributed to the drivers failure to be focused or not knowing how to avoid crashes.

I would like to thank the race officials for their generous accomodations at the Las Vegas Hilton as well as the complimnet of grid gals to help in this investigation. With out their help and accomodations, this investigation would not have been possible.

KYLE BUSCH WINS AT DAYTONA BY A NARROW MARGIN
Jul 05, 2008 | 9:25PM | report this

                   KYLE BUSCH WINS AT DAYTONA

The last 50 laps of this race was quite exciting with leader changes lap by lap. As usual cautions bred cautions and this was no different this time at Daytona. As the laps were winding down we saw a behive of wrecks and spins taking out some notable drivers such as Johnson, Burton, Newman, and Gordon with 3 laps to go who had led over 40 plus laps.

Then the "big One " with 1 lap to go took out more drivers thus leaving Kyle Busch and Carl Edwards to battle it out before the caution came out ending the race. In the scoring loop at that instance it was Kyle Busch edging out Edwards by a fender.

Dale Jr. although leading over 45 laps was shuffled back to a 10th place by lap 9. Did not see the results but I consider he lost the draft with the leaders. Currently NASCAR shows him finishing in 8th.

Back to Kyle Busch. I cannot believe he is still hated by some of the fans and wonder why they cannot see the facts.  Kyle did not wreck any one in this race, he fell back due to steering problems but was able to make his way back up front, and was content for some time to stay behind Dale Jr. and Jeff Gordon before making his bid for the front. Certainly a clean text book case of racing in my view. So what are the Kyle haters excuses this time?

To cap this race off is the difficulty NASCAR is having placing the finishing positions for the drivers. Jr has went from third to 8th and Mark Martin is jumping back and fourth from 2nd to third. they have Kenseth as far back as 17th. Sounds like to me there is a problem with the scoring loops on the track. Kenseth did finish in the top 5 in my view of the race. Who would have thought technology can be so ineffective.

REPORTING FROM THE TWILITE ZONE
Jul 03, 2008 | 9:51PM | report this

              REPORTING FROM THE TWILITE ZONE

Having a difficult time tearing myself away from the gals here but I felt compelled to write again on some thoughts.

I had first thought the zone was a wierd place but that has changed since all the news and rumors flying around the NASCAR garage has surfaced.

There are more rumors going on than Carter's got liver pills. The hot topic of the season . Where is Tony going? I don't have a clue but I bet he makes a fortune out of it. I even heard that the Pillsbury Dough Boy Company wants to sponsor Tony wherever he goes. I was thinking more on the lines of Genny Craig Weight Loss Centers.

Mark Martin is to announce that he will take over the #5 car with HMS on a full time schedule. Doesn't this guy ever stay retired permanently? If he hasn't won a championship by now he may never win one.

Mikey Waltrip finally came in second last week on a rain shortened race and his team is pumped up to win at Daytona.  I do believe in miracles but the only way Mikey will win at Daytona is if the 42 other drivers are in a "Big One" or if it rains and that "ain't gonna happen".

While we are on Mikey, rumor has it the sponsors are leaving MWR save one and he is in deep debt. Sounds like a buy buy deal to me for someone wanting to get into racing on the cheap.

It is rumored that Truex and Menard 's contract is up next year and they are leaving DEI. That leaves them with only Almirola  as their possible only driver.  With Menard leaving with all his money and Truex possibly taking the Bass Pro Shop sponsor possibly, what is DEI going to do for a sponsor? I get it, DEI will have a sugar manufacturer  for a sponsor considering all the sugar she used to buy when Jr. was with DEI. That sounds like a sweet deal.

Jamie Mc Murray is out at Roush Racing according to rumors. Ok where does he go?  With his current history, does any one care?

Gordon and Johnson with HMS. They got to get cars as good as Dale Jr. to be in the top rankings again. Seems like to me, Letart can't make a good call lately on Gordons car set ups. Knaus is sand bagging till the Chase then Katie bar the doors. Sounds like a logical strategy and cost effective.

Kyle Busch the wonder boy. You either love him or hate him. It has been  along time ( about a year) since we have had a driver that can win a race repeatedly and doesn't cause a bunch of wrecks.

Which brings up my next driver.

Juan Pablo  Montoya. Some times he shows a bit of promise but mostly he wrecks himself or some one else accidentaly or intentionaly.

Open wheelers in NASCAR. By By boys. Don't let the door hit you in your butt as you leave. So far I am not impressed with any of their results. Mostly field fillers.

GGW Racing Team. Funny that this team has so many cars in different series and appears to be well funded when other teams are sinking. Looking into this matter I have found the team has its hands in many money pots from banana import exclusitivity, to alternative fuel resources ( mostly high octane moon shine) as well as the ability to operate on a literal banana peel budget.

Not to mention they have become quite clever at getting the cars through inspection with out being caught. Could it be that NASCAR doesn't think a bunch of people dressed up as a bunch of wacky Gori*llas can be taken seriously and wave them through while laughing their heads off only to regret it later?

Their curent self financed tours in major cities local tracks is an indication this group is serious on dominating racing circles. Perhaps some one should wake this group up and let them know they are not in fantasy land and to wake up and smell the banana peels.

The only problem with that is their fantasy races are more exciting than the real thing so I guess they do serve a purpose.  Hard to determine what purpose but they are a hit in NASCAR blogs.

Thats enough for me. Back to the gals.

SCOTT KALITTA KILLED TODAY DURING FINAL ROUND OF QUALIFYING.
Jun 21, 2008 | 5:28PM | report this

Scott Kalitta age 46. A well known Top Fuel Funny Car drag racer was killed today while in the final round of qualifying at English Town, N.J. for the NHRA race. Scott is survived by two sons and his wife. His father the famed Connie Kalitta was at the track when the accident happened.

Scott grew up around the sport and was a natural to follow in his father's foot steps who won championships in drag racing.

Scott won his round of quaifying for 13th place when just before the finish line the car errupted in a fireball of flames doing over 300 MPH. The intense flames burned off the safety chutes and the car continued down the  too short slow down lanes at full speed crashing into the wall at the end of the track thus exploding again.

Sadly there was nothing the emergency crews could do for Scott and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The track immediately closed down all activity in respect for Scott. Many fans gathered around the pit area near Scotts hauler to pay their respects. Many drivers were shocked at his demise and gathered in small groups to offer support for each other and mourn the loss of Scott Kalitta. A driver that was well loved and respected by all the drivers as well as the fans.

He will be surely missed by all.

I'M A THINKING AGAIN
Jun 20, 2008 | 2:13PM | report this

I'M A THINKING AGAIN. WHY DO I DO THIS ?

It appears the the NASCAR ( bobbing) heads had a top secret meeting for the owners and drivers. Tony Stewart aluded to the content of the meeting last week in a press interview. It was a first for Tony. He was almost politically correct in his statement. Guess he didn't get the prepared statements put out by NASCAR on the COT yet.

Tony. "What I wasn't supposed to say that?"

Despite the meeting, many drivers are complaining about the heat the COT seems to produce. As much as 140 degrees in most cases and the drivers are hot. I can understand that. There is an alternatve. Install air conditioning in the car or drivers suit. I have used it for years in my street car. Oh. I get it. That would slow down the car. Well you can't have your cake and eat it too.  Go fast or stay cool. What do they want to do?

Mikey Waltrip is doing better. Led a couple laps last week and nearly finished 17th till he made contact with Truex Jr. ( Not sure on the driver). At this rate he might win a race by 2020. I just hope he remembers to turn left and right this weekend.

Turn left then right. No it is turn right then left. My car # is not the speed limit. So much to remember. So much to do on road courses.

Dale Jr. won a points race finally on fuel mileage. That is good. At least he is doing his part to reduce the dependence on foriegn oil. I think all the drivers should try that during the race in unison. Can you imagine the scenario on that action?

It is time to consider alternate fuel resources for NASCAR. I'm thinking electric powered cars with a bank ( say about 50) of 1 million Mica farad  flux capacitors in line with batteries. Then have two  or three 180 amp alternators to provide the juice to the motor. You got speed with out the noise. Ok electric motors whinning at a about 10,000 RPM might be a bit ear peircing but it will be cooler in the car.

I hear Petty enterprises has an investor to pump new life into the operation. Now Richard you need to put that money in the cars, not the bank to go faster. How ever I think the investor company has grander ideas like liquidation.

Burton Smith has ideas on his new ultra wide drag strip of running 4 cars at a time instead of the normal 2. That is a neat concept. Can you imagine 4 Top fuel dragsters going down the track at the same time? Katie bar the doors if some one looses it at 300 MPH. While we are at it lets put corners on the track too and they can race like the NASCAR boys.

I'M A THINKING BIG TIME
Jun 06, 2008 | 3:26PM | report this

I'M A THINKING BIG TIME POLITICS

                      PHOTOGR FOR PRESIDENT

Considering the choices we have for presidential candidates, I have decided to put my UH "hat" in the ring for President of the USA.  I am also introducing a new political party  as my affiliation. It will be called the Silver Backs. Now we have the donkeys and the elephants. We all know how stubborn a Donkey can be and we know how fat an elephant is.

Having a silver back as a party symbol made good sense. I thought is was time for a candidate with a thinking mind and no pockets to stuff bribe money in. Of course, bananas will get my attention as always.

You are probably wondering what my platform will be. Sit down and hear what my campaign covers.

Agenda:

NASCAR racing. It needs to stop the price gouging that has been going on for some time. I propose as my first legislation. I will mandate that NASCAR races will be affordable for all fans. No tickets over $25.00 cost. No more mystery cautions, no more rule infractions, and No more Brian France. I will assign Klvalus as the new head of NASCAR to handle the business and TEZ as the replacement for Helton. Noahspop will be in charge of rules and regulations.

Foreign policy. An area that is handled poorly now. I propose we will provide military and financial assistance to the countries that do not spit on us, try to kill us, insult us, threaten us and over charge us for oil.  Those countries will immediately be put on our dodo list. Those countries will also have to pay their own U.N. fees or be kicked out of the UN. I might also consider Kicking the UN out of the USA. That would save a bundle. I will appoint Hoosier as the foreign diplomat  for those  unfriendly countries mentioned above.

I propose we round up all the gangs in this country and send them to Iraq and Afganistan since they like to fight and shoot guns. This will reduce the need for our military forces to fight every ones war and give us more military support for our borders and our friends as well as provide top notch security. I will appoint Forensic as the Forign policy advisor and Hot foot  as the Secretary of state.

Economics, NAFTA, and the Free Trade agreement. I will balance the ratio of trade to foreign countries. We will only buy an equal percentage of  their products with what percentage they buy from us. I will keep American jobs in America. Any American company that goes overseas for cheap labor will not be allowed to trade in the USA. I will appoint Moseby as the head of Economics.

I will provide a bearing banana tree for every family in the USA as well as a respectable job / salary for the unemployed. I will appoint Hanahan as the head of the department of Labor.

Corporate executives and lobyist who just love to roll in money will not be paid the salaries they were used to getting. Salaries will be adjusted to the performance they provide in keeping their companies strong and productive with American workers.

No more  CEO 50 plus million dollar salaries when the company is going down the tubes. Government offices must maintain a level of productivity and be frugal with the tax payers money. No more $1000.00 toilets and $200.00 hammers guys. Also I will put the Senate and the Congress on Social Security and abolish the over funded Gov. pensions. I will appoint JJ Dean as the Secretary of  Government finances and  as the head of Social Security pensions I will appoint Volfan.  I will appoint Jokers Wild as the head of commerce. Probably a better choice would be head of jokes or the wine making industry.

Military policy. I am a firm believer that we need a strong military with the latest in technology to deter any oppositional forces that might think about attacking us. I will appoint Fever 3 as the head of the joint chief of staffs office and Beaver Nut as the head of the military forces ( second in command).

Agriculture. Here is an area the we need to expand our production of food sources and research bio fuels. We are loosing too many farms due to regulations and will open up opportunities for farmers to prosper. I will appoint Dwindy as the head of Agriculture.

Energy. We must be dedicated to making our selves self sufficient in energy and do what ever possible to attain that goal through comprehensive research and developing new energy sources. I will appoint Charritt as the head of the Department of energy.

Education. Certainly a sore spot in these days and time. Our school systems are turning out under educated children at an alarming rate and we need to insure all get a superior education. I will appoint Tyler head as the head of education.

Every Presidential hopefull needs to have a Vice president and I hope that CUDA will accept my Appointment as my Vice presidential candidate. He can garner many female voters to follow our agenda and campaign.

All of my appointees are highly qualified to assume their new post. I Have more to list but am restricted by space for now.

As you can see I am a candidate for the people with out any  special interest group affiliations. It is time for a new political party and a better choice for a President of the USA.

A vote for me is a vote for Americans.

Photogr A thinking  mans President.

I'M A THINKING AGAIN
May 31, 2008 | 10:14PM | report this

I'M A THINKING AGAIN, BUT I DON'T HAVE A CLUE WHY.

My favorite subject Mikey Waltrip Racing. Have you noticed David Reutimann has placed well in the last few races in NW and CUP ( 4th place in the NW race at Dover)? Mikey usually finishes further back in any race. Can it be he still thinks his number 55 is the speed limit. Perhaps Mikey should change his number to 185, then he can go faster. A better idea would be to give Reutimann his Cup car so it can finish better. I am not saying that Mikey is over the hill mind you but it does present that question.

Is it just me that thinks  Denny Hamlin is suffering from Gordonitis ( Habitual whining and every one is supposed to move over when he want to pass.) I thought his comments and actions on last weeks NW race was a bit pompus.

Kyle Busch is every ones golden boy lately. The guy can drive the wheels off a race car literally and dominate some of the race. Don't know what Joe Gibbs, the other car/ truck owners is thinking now with all of Kyle's  wrecked and blown up cars and trucks he has been accumulating over the last few weeks.  One thing for sure, if he is not winning he is wrecking and blowing up things. Of course I think he is getting a little help from the other drivers with the incidents.

Humpy Wheeler and Burton Smith. The dynamic duo of SMI NASCAR tracks. Well one still is dynamic. Humpy is unemployed now. Seems there was trouble brewing in the ivory tower of SMI and Humpy lost. Burton bought the Ky. Speedway but  NASCAR says there will not be a CUP race there in 2009. Wanna bet?

I saw that Scott Speed won the truck race at Dover. An Open Wheeler won a truck race. That is nice. Guess painting your toe nails blue does make a difference. What was with his victory celebration sitting on top of the truck in a thinking pose? And I thought the snow angel thingy was a bit wierd done by another driver when they won.

Joey Logano. The future hot driver in NASCAR came in 6th at the Dover's NW race. Quite an accomplishment for his first race in NW. However, he was not happy with a 6th place finish. Patience my little grass hopper. Patience.

Bill Elliott is in the Dover CUP race and qualified 24th. Did he really qualify that well or did he get it on  a provisional again? Bill was one of my favorite drives back then but does he really do himself any favors getting in on a provisional all the time any more? He certainly does not have the equipment to battle with the front runners like back in the day.

David Ragan. Have you noticed this driver has quitely been getting good finishes lately and is with in striking distance for a win soon? Certainly one of the most under rated drivers in NASCAR. Again I say patience my grass hopper. Patience.

Jeff Gordon. I hear Dupont only signed a two year contract with Jeff and HMS as his primary sponsor. Could it be? Or was it because? I ain't telling and neither is Dupont or HMS. Ok. Here is a hint. Jeff has not been having a stellar year yet.

I have done enough thinking for now.

Thoughts on Schrader to try to qualify No. 33 for Coca-Cola 600
May 13, 2008 | 7:14PM | report this

Kenny Schrader was picked by RCR to race the #33 car in the Cocoa Cola 600 if he qualifies. This will make 4 cars that RCR will put in this race.

This is a great break for Kenny Schrader to have a ride in quality equipment. Kenny will race any thing in any series at a drop of the hat usually commuting from race to race on his motorcycle. One of the most likable drivers in the garage with a good sense of humor and a tolerance of Mikey Walrip on the Speed Channel Monday night shows. In a way I think he keeps Mikey's bable short.

What does this mean for Kenny in the CUP series? This announcement was for only this race. Does this mean Kenny has more rides lined up with RCR in the future? It would be hard to tell at this point.

I would think RCR hired Kenny to field the fourth team as an advisor and formulate the  fourth team. With Kenny's experience, he would be a good choice and have the capacity to make suggestions and ideas that would benefit a team in its early stages.

It is a good possibility that this is only a short assignment and Kenny will hand over the car and team to a younger driver once the team is up to speed. I am thinking Richard's son if he is old enough yet or one of the drivers in his development series.

Although 57 years old now, it doesn't seem like Kenny is going to slow down any time soon. Either way, it would be good to see Kenny racing once again in the CUP series. I wish him well.

I'M A THINKING AGAIN
May 06, 2008 | 8:03PM | report this

I'M A THINKING AGAIN AND YOU KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.

There has been over 100,000 blogs since Saturday night over the Dale Jr / Kyle Bush incident. Enough said? OK! Enough is not said yet. Let them both get in a 2 car race for ten laps  with no rules, no penalties, and anything goes. Put it on national T.V. Talk about excitement. Whoa Nellie. Nascar's ratings would go up 10,000 points. Dale Jr. thinks it is a good idea.

Of course we all know Boyer had that race handed to him on a sliver platter. Seriously though. Boyer has used this tactic most of the last two years. Stay up close to the front and hope for the front runners to have problems.  Well three of them did and this tactic finally paid off.

Who was that no name driver in the N.W. Dega race that pulled onto the track going 80 MPH when about 30 cars were comming around the corner doing 200 MPH. Then he has the ordacity to first say he wasn't the reason for the "Big One".Hello ! Any body home? I though you had to be a professional race car driver to run in N.W. or at least intelligent.

There is still talk about Tony Stewart leaving JGR. Only if he retires and marries a Celestial Virgin from Venus. AH. Grid gals in NASCAR?

I hear Jamie Mc Murray is looking for greener pastures  as the Cat in the Hat cuts down to 4 teams. I have heard Greg Biffel is too.  Wonder if they know something we don't?

On to my favorite driver for jabs. Mikey Waltrip. did you finally see he had some anger and acted like a race car driver last Saturday even though he was a few laps down?

The Monday night ringer on Track Side ( Speed Channel) was Chad Knaus asking Mikey if he would be a better driver if he stopped looking around at everything going on during the race. I am thinking Chad might be onto something there.

Well I am all thinked out.

FRESH OFF THE PRESS
Apr 21, 2008 | 9:21PM | report this

LATEST NEWS RELEASE.

A new racing team is diving into the  NASCAR Cup series. With the silly season already in full swing this news is a breath of fresh air. The team owner and driver is already a well known character with a history that goes back many years. He seems to have a chemistry made for Hollywood but he both wanted to get into the foray with NASCAR and be a driver.

So with out further ado here is the new racing team of Elmer Fudd.

Elmer Fudd announced he has teamed up with Bugs bunny as his crew chief and Daffy Duck as his team crew.

At a press conference this reporter asked Elmer Fudd what it was going to be like having Bugs Bunny as the crew chief.

Daffy: " I sspftsupposed so if you sspftssay so.

I'M A THINKING AGAIN.

Have you ever noticed in the climax of a race with 10 or less laps to go, there is a mystery caution or some driver's car drops oil all over the track causing a "Mini One"?

Have you ever noticed during the race sometimes a car will drop body or brake parts and there is never a caution flag waved?

Have you noticed Silly Season started already and no one mentioned it?

Have you noticed RCR has announced adding a 4th team and Kyle Petty comes out saying I am looking for another team to race with. Sad part is no one offered him a ride.

Have you ever noticed Derick Cope ( when he qualifies) never finishes more than 10 laps and goes out with mystery engine problems.

Have you ever noticed the super star Go Kart on steroids drivers are not driving very well in NASCAR, when they qualify.

Have you ever noticed Kyle Busch is older now but still drives like a demon possesed?

Have you ever noticed Dale Jr.s cars finish races now mostly in the top 5 and leads races even with Eury Jr. as crew chief? Must have been the sugar in the gas tanks for his poor results last year.

Have you ever noticed the race coverage lately? There are only  4 or 5 drivers in each race covered. What happened to the rest?

Have you noticed Jamie Mc Murray lately? Does he still have a job?

Have you noticed the rumor about Tony Stewart lately? When does he switch back to the Bow Ties and drops the Rice Burners?

Have you ever noticed that Carl Edwards looks a lot like Gomer  Pyle when he smiles? Of course he has a lot to smile about. 3 wins and solid  top 10 finishes. Go Gomer!!

Have you noticed you can get baseball coverage during the NASCAR race events now? Last Saturdays race was a preview of things to come when the race gets boring.

Have you noticed the "Ice Man" ( J. Burton) is back? Now he has to stay out of other drivers oil spills.

Have you ever noticed the Fox Gopher cam character is not very bright?

Did any one notice who won the race?

I have been thinking enough for now.

THE PROPENSITY OF RACING??
Apr 01, 2008 | 10:07PM | report this

It is a calenture of epidemic proportions dutifully experienced by NASCAR fans as  each season begins on a ritual schedule etched in stone. I will not go into a long boring disquisition but make short disertations on my observations. I will try to philosophize these afflictions.

This malady is certainly much more severe that first thought and is brought on by a stimulus of the senses. Sight, hearing, smell, and impulses of the brain. Some scholars have attributed this stimulus to the same effect as a mind altering drug that becomes habit forming.

Research has confirmed this symptomatic behavior based on the repeated confirmations of withdrawal symptoms after November of each season which reach their essence over the winter season.

Another quagmire of this calenture is the ritualistic worship of selected individuals with in this sport. The afflicted will spend unsurmountable sums of currency to observe and get close to these individuals to the brink of stalking them. Certainly an area that needs primordial reasearch at the conception  of the automobile and race car drivers.

It is observed that these so called drivers are held to a pinnacle of high morals and ethics with little tolerance to immoral activity or drug  addiction by the heralded power brokers of the sport. Should a organization that provides these cars for competition be caught altering the rules detrimental to the sport, they will be penalized severely in some cases.

It seems that the sound of an un restricted engine exhaust, the smell of fossil fuels and burning rubber extracted from tropical rubber plants, along with the circus atmosphere of an event  brings on a change in the human brain functions. Science cannot explain this compulsion.

This malady is so wide spread that expansive stadiums capable of housing hundreds of thousands of fans have been built through out the country and in foriegn lands to host these events and expunge monetary funds from the fans totaling in the hundreds of millions of dollars.

However this is not a new phenomenon. It has been recorded that during the Roman era of  rule over two thousand years ago there were similar stadiums built to house thousands of fans to watch sports events of their times. As the Roman Empire diminished, so did the stadiums and events. Relics abound in certain parts of the world atributed to this observation.

Contrary to popular belief that we have an unlimited supply of fossilized fuel on hand, the limit of our true supply has reached a point of diminishing and critically low reserve with no promise of excavating new deposits yet undiscovered.  Perhaps it is the time for the racing benefactors to assimilate the need to introduce new power plants and alternative fuels that are yet to be ratified as a viable alternative to our current dependence of fossil fuels  and power sources that are in actuality rather antique and inefficient not to mention damaging to the fragile environment.

Would this be the end of racing and our society as we know it?

In summation. Racing cannot be called a sport. It is an obsession, a way of life, and a passion that afflicts millions of fans much as it does this writer.

I will now embark on a tedious journey to further understand this affliction on my self and the millions or fans through out the world

I bid you farewell and  good health in your addiction.

I'M A THINKING, AGAIN
Mar 28, 2008 | 6:02PM | report this

I'M A THINKING AGAIN.

Yep. It is about time to come up with something to say.

Lets start off with Jeff Gordon. Last year I made jokes about PEPSI LITE wine coolers and Jeff Gordon. Well it was only  a parody last year but Jeff Gordon is comming out with a wine called Sofia  he will market it this year. I wonder if he will have the sour grape flavor too?

The open wheel drivers in NASCAR. For how long? That is my first thought. So far after 5 or so races these super stars from the other curcuits have had rather dismal showings. Guess it take more skill to drive a 3200 lb. brick around a track than a high tech. Go Kart.

There has been much to do about comparing Kyle Busch to  Dale Sr. Enough said.

I hear Jack Roush ranting about a Toyota team stealing his secrets right out from under his nose. Sorry Jack. You lost your credibility last year ranting about keeping Toyota out of NASCAR.

Jamie Mc Murray qualifies in 5th for this weekends race and has a new sponsor. Well if he starts sliding backards as usual, he has the tools to get ahead again. That is if he doesn't total the car.

Back to Jeff Gordon. He is on the pole  for this weekend. That is a good place to be Jeff. Start up front, stay up front, stay away from Kyle Busch, and don't hit anything. You might win this race.

I'm a thinking the Smoke will take him self out midway through the race so I will not say anything.

Kyle Busch starts in 8th and Boyer in 12th. Now that is a good combination. If Boyer is smart he will stay behind Kyle and let him do all the bashing other cars out of the way. By the end of the race Kyle will have used up his car and spins himself out thus leaving Boyer with a clean dash to the front.

Robby Gordon in deep sheep dip. What is new?

Bam Racing has a new sponsor. The Bill Gates empire with billions to give away. They are switching to Toyotas with billions more in their racing expense account to give away. I'm a thinking the future dominant team in NASCAR.

Back to Gordon and Smoke. I'm a thinking you guys need a hair cut.

Elliott Sadler out with a back injury, can't sit, and out of the race. Dennis Setzer will have to fill in for him. There are a few questions about this incident. No one seems to know how he hurt his back or what ever. Just goes to show you. You can't go around making whoopie at your age and expect to race a 3200 pound car around a 1/2 mile oval. The scary question is what if Setzer has a better finish or wins? What is this saying about Elliott?

Mike Mc Dowell gets his try at MWR in the CUP series. UUMM Wasn't he One of the American Idol finalist a couple years back? He came from no where and now in a CUP race.

I have heard rumblings in the distance that Sprint is in deep financial trouble. Seems the board of directors are not happy with the millions Sprint puts into NASCAR thus Sprint may be leaving NASCAR.

I have said for awhile NASCAR has to diversify as far as series sponsorship and multiple sponsors are the way to go. For one thing, it gives sponsors the luxury of less expense to cover a series sponsorship and has the inclination to foster longevity as a sponsor.

My picks for multiple sponsors. Charmin Toilet paper and Smokes BBQ sauce (CTP & SBBQ). Certainly a good match. Another idea came to mind was Viagra and Victoria Secrets ( V&VS). Hey, with this deal we might get the grid gals into NASCAR wearing the Victoria Secrets line of merchandise.

I'm a thinking again.

 My favorite Volley ball team

SOMETHING MOST MEN DON'T WANT TO DISCUSS
Mar 21, 2008 | 8:16PM | report this

This is some thing I have been wanting to get off my chest recently. It has nothing to do with sports but it might save your life. I am definitely serious on this matter.

Some of what I am going to discuss is a bit graphic for this site so this is not for the weak at heart but I was lucky.

As men progress into the 40s in most cases they will experience a higher Blood PSA score. Usually it means your prostate gland has enlarged which usually happens as you age and most cases it can be treated with medications. I hope you know what that gland does. If not, ask your Doctor.

My first experience was 8 years ago on a routine exam by the family doctor. PSA score was 4.9 and a slight enlargement. No real concerns at the time by me as I experienced no problems so I just passed it off.  I took many vitamins, herbal supplements, and saw palmetto so I wasn't worried.

Considering I avoid the Doctors like the plague, I didn't have another exam for 4 years. Another exam revealed PSA score still at 4.9 but the prostate had enlarged some more. No tumors or irregularities were found so I just passed it off again and continued t use my vitamins and supplements..

November2006 all hell broke loose. I was on a trail hike in Florida in a wild life preserve. That evening I had to use the bath room and passed an immense amount of blood and several clots. Had not experienced any difficulties before that. It did clear up and had no more difficulty but I  still failed to have it checked. About this time I started to have to urinate more frequently like the guys in the prostate commercials. Didn't think much of it though. ( age thing I thought).

Jan 2007 I started to have problems and severe burning when urinating followed by another bout of heavy bleeding and clots when urinating.  Tht cleared up again on its own but the burning continued for two months before I went to the family Doctor. PSA score was 4.3 ( which was a drop) but test revealed a severe Urinary track infection. Got a prescription of 500MG of Cipro for two weeks and it knocked it out we thought. Things seemed ok for a few months and wham! It was back. Went back to the family Doctor and got another test and I had the infection back. This time intermittently I was passing blood when I was physically active or took long walks. Another feeling started to pop up like I had something big in my groin or pressure that felt uncomfortable.

The dreaded rectal exam by the family Doctor this time revealed some thing was terribly wrong. She didn't say other than my prostate was entirely too large but made an appointment right then for me to see a Urologist knowing I would not make the appointment my self.

Those Drs. a female and a male did the dreaded rectal exam and blood test. Yep I had a severe urinary tract infection again. This time I got the works. A cat scan ( try drinking a gallon of water and holding it while doing a cat scan) Hell hath no fury like an over full bladder.

The next week I had a complete biopsy test where you have to lay on a table while they used this zap gun up your you know where and get tissue samples of your prostate gland. Not a pleasant experience at all.

The next week results are back and it is not pretty. The Drs. asked me this did not come on recently. I said I had never experienced any problems till Jan 2007. Although I did not experience any problems before, this malady was growing all along for over the last few years I guess.

Results of the test were: Severe infection in the prostate with calcification of the tissue, a tumor, attached cyst, and large stones in the bladder. The prostate was the size of an orange considering it should be the size of a walnut. Fortunately no cancer was found in the tissue samples.

Prognossis:  A complete removal of the prostate was in order. Further test of the removed tissue will be needed to eliminate the possibility of cancer in other areas of the prostate. A lazer removal of the stones in the bladder was in order. In short, I was facing a radical surgery with still the possibility of cancer.

What I am trying to convey here to all the guys is get those exams and don't put it off. This could have turned out a lot worse than it did. Had I listened a few years back to my Doctors, I might not would have gone through such a radical surgery now.

Yes I was lucky in a sense but possibly prostate shrinking medications may have saved me going though this procedure. Don't put it off.

Post surgery recouperation:

No cancer was noted in tissue sample taken during surgery and was able to save the nerves so I should get all my regular functions back. Yes making whoopie with the wife is also possible later.

5 days in the hospital on morphine with a painful cather tube. One week at home with that danged painfull cather tube. Inability to sit with out severe pain for 3 weeks. Only comfort was pain pills and laying only. Walking short times was ok but got tired easily. Bought a whoopie cushion to get back into sitting but that was a joke.

The last few days have allowed me to sit for longer periods of time with a pillow and the pain is managable now. I should be back up to my normal activities in another 3 to 4 weeks.

Again all you older guys get checked out. This happens in 1 in 5 men in the USA. Many are prostate cancer diagnosed. They got mine in time. I would not wish this on my worst enemies.
