Derek Fisher Leads the Lakers to Victory over Hornets
Nov 13, 2008 | 12:13AM | report this
Yes, I have been dieing to say that. but from where I sat. I think Player of the game went to Fish. 7-11 from the field including 4-6 behind the arc. being a big part of the Defense that kept the hornets to just 30 points in the first half. But the great part of this is that every game has been team play. Pau Gasol gets 6-12 Andrew Bynum shot for 6-10 and 5 players were in double figures. the other Lakers struggled a bit with scoring but Defense was key. the only downside was the assault on my nerves when we let NO score more in the 4th then they did in the 1st and 2nd combined. but after a Kobe three and when things were tight again. a Fisher steal and 2 good free-throws was a game closer.
And this comes after I wrote how it  wasn't the stats that made me like Fisher, funny how that works:p

So Kobe is not the only closer anymore.
but then again, there was that .4 :)

Would you change your teams name like OKC is.

A response to NBA files for rights to six nicknames

OK, I read the blog on the six names for the OKC team. they don't want the name to stay the sonics. Many teams have kept the name of the previous city. my team The Lakers was from Minn. where there are lots of lakes. But what would be a more appropriate name for them.

I invite Laker Fans and Lakers haters alike. Just some fun in the off season for me. also if your team kept the name but you think you have a better one. (flattering or non-flattering) what about the grizzlies, hornets. they saved the names.

anyway back in the 60's the Lakers could have been called "The deadly noxious fumes" ."The Black lungs" or simply "The exaust" three years ago I called them the LA Kobe's because he seemed to be the only one playing. (take this in jest Lakers Fans. I will alway love the Lakers. just for fun. anyway just my first post and not even really basketball related. except OKC has just related it. :)

ABOUT ME

onefishfan
I was 8 years old when my older brother turned me on to The Lakers. I liked watching football at the time and played pop warner. He said he liked Basketball because the action never stopped so I gave it a try. Jerry West was making these incredible shots along with Gail Goodrich and Wilt was stuffing the ball. I watched ~2 months of games and kept seeing the Lakers win. I just thought that is what happens. Well the bucks finally won and broke the 33 game winning streak. (the record still stands). The Lakers went on to win it all and I was hooked. Later I learned to Respect Bill Russell and the celtics. since then I have watched the Lakers in good times and bad. now retired and with a terminal condition (alpha1 antitrypsin, genetic disorder) I'm just glad to see the Lakers have a good team once again and have gotten to love talking on the blogs. I hope I never insult anyone or act like I know what's going to happen. my major was math and computers. not basketball. I am just a fan that has alwas loved the game. and yes, THE LAKERS are my team. I might talk a little smack on the Lakers board but I try to show respect on other boards. the strays will be the strays and I have lived long enough to know I can not judge anyone, or maybe I'm just an old person trying to get into heaven now.(took that from Bill Cosby-himself
, a very funny video). anyway I'll try to keep it on basketball and learn about all the intricacies of play and enjoy both real bball talk and the funny one liners as well. Peace to all and enjoy the game:) Myspace Image by YourCoolProfile.com
