Ahh...Yes...The Cubs have locked home field
Sep 23, 2008 | 12:53AM | report this

Ahh...Yes... The Cubs are for real. A team that is on a mission.

Today a pitcher, not big Z hit a granny.

Today a team, not the Yankees got Home filed through there league playoffs.

Today made alot of kids, not Boston kids, Smile ear to ear.

Today we found out, the Cubs will play At home to start the playoffs and have home field advantage through out the National league playoffs.

Can it be, 100 years of pain and suffering are over?

Could it happen the subway series, west of NewYork?

Will a black cat get eatin by a billy goat while crossing Waveland ave.?

Can Ron Santo and the rest of us Cub fans get to see the cubs win a World Series in are life time?

Yes, yes, yes. It will happen. This is the year. I am enjoying the ride. See you in Chicago.

Hot Cubs, Hot Carl Edwards
Aug 28, 2008 | 2:38PM | report this

Ahh...Yes... My luvable Cubbies are setting new bench marks for the club. Won nine series in a row. First time since 1907. They are 3 games ahead of all other team in national and american league. They just keep winning.

Is it Lou? Is it Wood? Is it all the players coming together?

It is nice when one star is down, two others step up. I am loving this. Is this the year? Well I cant think of a better one that I have seen in my 37 years of life. I am enjoying the ride.

Ahh...Yes... Carl Edwards When you push him around, he pushes back. I am a Kyle Busch fan. But Damm did Carl give him what he deserved. Can Carl stay this hot into the chase. Yes, Yes, Yes...The guy has it all clicking. He has the team. He is getting the cars. It will be fun to watch.

Nascar thankyou for making the punishment for after the checkards, small to say the least. 6 race probation. That means you are letting them race. Thankyou. I know you couldn't let the smacks after the checkards go, but to lightly slap the wrists, as a fan again thankyou.

So 2 races to the chase, who is going to win? Jeff Gordon. He is going to win Richmond. Cali, maybe. Tony Stewart will get a smack from Jeff though if he is in front of him. Jeff owes him.

The Cubs yes September will be there tuff month. They have alot of road games. But they have won there last 12 of 13 on the road. I dont care who you are and what teams you play that is great. Will this lead to a late October? God I hope so. I cant take another disapointment. They are the team. They have the Lou. They can do it.

Ok I did the crazy. I combined the two, Nascar and Baseball. But the chase is getting good. I am a huge race fan. Also the Cubs are playing like there is no tomorrow. That is my team. Only 2 hours form Wrigley. So enjoy the read.

Now if we can stay healthy. Rest are pitchers. They will keep on keeping on. This is the year. Its been a friigin hundred years. The Cubbies will do it.

I am enjoying the trip to October. If you want there is plenty of room on the Cubbie wagon. Jump on board.

Cubs Rocket into the month of August.
Aug 08, 2008 | 12:39AM | report this

What a way to end July and begin August. 8-2 of the last 10.  69-46 for the year, and 43-16 at home. Wow what a year so far. This is better than 1908. They still have along way to go. Now as a fan this is awsome.

Soriono came back from the D.L. with a fire in his step. And a Hammer for a bat. He is doing great.  Batting .299 and obp of .345 That aint to bad.

Wood is showing his pitching didnt miss a beat after coming back from the D.L.

Marmol didn't miss doing cleanup duties either. With the both of them able to cleanup as they do. Wow it is going to be an awsome ride to October.

Lee, and Ramirez are on top of there game. Hitting and defense.

DeRosa is getting a hot bat, and getting all the hits to second base.

Soto behind the plate. Give him a day off now and then so he stays great all year. He is  not missing a beat there.

Fukudome. His OBP .376. He is getting walks as needed. Patience.

The team as a whole is doing awsome. As a diehard cub fan, its nice to feel what Yankee fans felt alot of years. Having a team day in and day out than can in it all.

Go CUBS Go... I love this team.

Cubs still on top
Jul 29, 2008 | 10:14PM | report this

Well I am a Cubbie fan in blue. Its nice to see that when the Cubs have got to win they do. They are a great team that all the players seem to come together and work harder when another is in a slump.

Soriano is back from the D.L. and hitting HR.s Zambrano is pitching like there is no tomorrow. Fukadome is back on track.

This all came back when they had a one game lead over Milwaukee. Now after two games against Milwaukee, the Cubs have a 3 game lead. There are 2 more to play in Milwaukee before the series is over. Will they win 2 more? i hope so. I will let you know thursday night...Lol.

Now for me as a fan from like forever. To see this team play this well this late is awsome. To keep the main core intact. I know a couple have gone on the D.L. but other team members are picking up the slack.

Will this lead to a late October run? God I hope so. I wanna go to Wrigley field for a World Series in my life time. I am not that old but I want to do it with my son and enjoy it.

So for any other Cub fan out there. This is the year. This is the end of a long long drought. Also this is the year the Cubs are sold. What a great way to welcome a new owner.

Cubs have a STRONG house
Jun 23, 2008 | 5:57AM | report this

32-8 at home. 16-20 on the road. Talk about the house the Cubbies built. This year is friggin awsome. To be a diehard Cub fan, and be 20 games over 500. I feel like its a dream. Every player on the team is contributing. If one player is a little off, seems as if two other come on. If a starting pitcher slips, the bull pen fires back. Yea there is a hiccup now and then. Marmol had a bad game. Gave up some runs. But he is one of the best, and proving it.

Now about Ozzie and his RATT fest on WrigleyField. Well Ozzie, I am glad to see the Cubbies feasted on your Ratt coments. Made you pay dearly. The bat was mightier than your mouth. Way to go Cubs. I hope we can come to your hause and keep you quiet. We will see next weekend. Cant wait to visit U.S. Cellular. Heard its a nice fancy house. So I expect clean bathrooms. Beer in clean glasses. Oh and you to shutup and play..Lol..

So the Cubbies are for real. Everyone waiting for the flop. I hope you have good comfortable seats. Its a long way to october. And Wrigley is a good field to watch the world series. At least that what I heard. And hope to expirence. I will sell my left ... to go. Hope to see ya there.

CUBS: Welcome to the family Jim Edmonds.
Jun 12, 2008 | 8:25PM | report this

What a way to make it to the loving family. The man had a hot bat when we needed it. His glove was never off but his bat had cooled. Then comes the game tonight. The third game of three for the Braves at the Friendl confines of Wrigley Field. My Cubs were down 2-1. Jim comes to bat and there was magic. Jim swung hard and swift. The bat made solid contact with the rawhide. The ball flew like it had wings. It was out of here. Over the Ivy and gone. Jim had a nice smile on his face as he circled the bases. Awsome..

Well the game went on. 10th no score. Then we get to the bottom of the 11th. Cubs load the bases. The braves gave up. Hit batter. Walked in the game winning run. Go Cubs Go...

Thankyou Jim for wanting to be a part of the loving family. Bring a desert to dinner this sunday. I have a feeling you are here to stay. Thanks again everyone on the team for pulling together. Welcome home Jim welcome home.

MLB news wire bites
Jun 12, 2008 | 1:05AM | report this

The Big Cub highlight in the news wire Soriano. Yea he is a good bat. Fair fielder. But that is small to the team. He will be missed and wanted back soon. But the BIG story of the day is DEMSTER. Ryan went the full game. eleven Ks. Two runs. He was the show. It gave a tired pen a great and much needed rest. It let are pen stars, Wood and Marmol rest. That should have been the big print. I am sure the news paper will be the same.

Here is to Ryan Demster and the complete game. Great Job Ryan. Way to go. Winning your 9th in a row at home. What a great job. You need to keep up the great work and fight Zambrano for the bragging rights of top pitcher. I wanna see you both fight for most wins. It will be awsome to watch.

Yea Go Cubs Go...Go Cubs Go...Hey Chicago what do say, Cubs are going to win today...Go Cubs Go...

Demster and Cubs complete game
Jun 11, 2008 | 7:39PM | report this

Way to go Ryan Demster. 7-2 complete game pitched. First one for Cubs this year. His 9th win a row at Wrigley. Closed out with a strike out. What a game. We are now 18 over 500.  What a year. Go Cubs Go hey Chicago Cubs are going to win today. 11 strike outs. He pitched well. The bad thing. Soriano got hurt. He was hit by a pitch. Hurt his left hand. We will see how bad.

For now though I am going to enjoy the ride. Go Cubs Go. They are the real deal...

CUBS .631 41-24
Jun 11, 2008 | 2:01AM | report this

Yea the bats got hot late against the falling Braves. It was 6-5 with only a one run lead. Low and behold Soto smacks a three run jack. Another RBI. and hey we win 10-5.

Is this the year? Guess we wont know till October. I will tell you what though, as a Cub fan forever, I will enjoy the ride. It has been a long time since we played this well. It has been a long time since we held are breath till the big guy came in and hit a home run.

This team plays long ball, short ball, and all team ball. For the first time in recent memory, the Cubs have hitting coming in from everyone. Even Soriano is getting in on the short game. If say Lee, and Ramirez are a little off, Theriot and Fukodome have great games.

The man behind it all. Lou. The man making the guys play. He has the Bullpen pitching when needed. Rsting when they can. He will double switch even if it means pulling the bat of Soriano. He isn't thinking what they will think tomorrow. He is thinking how to win today.

Another great thing. We have been just a team that looks like they are having fun. Out there playinf the game like they are kids again. The smiles. The high fives. When the can just always look like they are enjoying the game, that is a great team.

Yea I am a Cubbie fan till the end. Yea I have not seen a Series team in my life time. Could it be this year? I will tell you in october. But till then, this Cub fan is going to enjoy the fun on the field.

Hey also Ron Santo is coming to my town this weekend. Freeport Illinois. To debut the Little Cubs Field here in freeport. If you would lke to check it out. Goto www.littlecubsfield.com Its a little field for kids thats a replica of Wrigley field. Check it out. And Go Cubs Go...

Cubs win again. Like 1908
May 31, 2008 | 11:38PM | report this

Ron Santo was good enough to share t his fact with us the listner today. "The Cubs have not been this good, with this good of record going into may since 1908" Ron Santo. Well Ron I pray to the Baseball Genni that we take this all the way to Worls Series.

I didn't relize that it had been that long. The boys from the north side are doing great. Hope they can stay healthy and on top of there game. Nice to see the whole team making this possible. We dont have just one or two players, smaking the long ball. We have a whole team adding short game as well as great defense.

Go Cubs Go, Go Cubs Go....

Ok Cubs from down 9-1 to rally and win 10-9
May 30, 2008 | 7:07PM | report this

Nothing else to be said. What a come back.

Ok I will add a little. Jim Edmonds gets out of his slup big time. 3 for 4 3 RBIs and a solo HR.  Kukudome, Blanco, and DeRosa all had HRs.  The four of them combined for all ten RBIs. What a team to come back.

The bull pen bailed out Lilly from his bad day. Marmol got three strike outs in the 8th and Wood closed out the 9th.

If this isn't a sign of good things for the Cubs. There never will be. The Cubs are just doing what it takes as a TEAM to win. The Cubs hopefully now have the big leftie bat they needed. Edmaonds I hope has got past his slump and gives us more bottom of the linup big bat.

I am loving this season and cant wait till october.

To my felow nascar bloggers, I had to voice for the comeback today. But now I am watching the craftsman truck race and saw Kyle Busch break. Otherwise nobody would have caught him....
