TNT did a great coverage o####REAT race. The race and comercials together, wow loved it. I dont care if we have to watch Coke Zero over and over. As long as we still see the race. Man FOX I hope you took notes. That will boost coverage.
To see that side by side, beating and ban ging was great. If you have anything bad to say about the race...You were not watching what I watched. The COT stopped one car wrecks becoming huge wrecks. Yea we had one at the end, but that was part of the end of guys close fighting.
Now you "Fans" that threw cans. You need to really do a fan check. You say that you are "fans". How is it a "fan" trys to hit a race car with cans? How is it some from way up in the stands hit real FANS in the lower stands. Brings me back to Dega when a cooler hit the flagman in the back of the head. That was by a "fan".
So if you throw something and it hits someone on the stands, is that an accident? No. It is not. Its would be an attack. If more than one are throwing, I would call it a "Gang" attack. That could get you up to five years in jail. Do you ever think of that. Remember if that can or bottle has your prints on it. Also the blood from the Head, kneck, or other body part you have hit. You could get caught.
Now If I am a judge that gets that case. I will "throw" the book at you. I would make sure you get the max sentence. Also I would make sure that if you ever even set foot on a gokart track you will go back to jail.
Its thanks to fans like you I will not take Noah to a race and let him flag for the Sprint Cup series. You see we sit at the Flagstand. He has his flags. If Kyle were to win, you would throw things. So I just want to say thankyou for making the choice easy. I wont go to Cupraces. I cant imagine what I would do if you "fans" threw something at the track and it hit Noah. My nine yearold son.
I agree 100% with everything you said. I have been going to the CocaCola 600 every year for the past 20 years. This year some drunk jerk got his beer muscles and decided to throw things at me because I was rooting for Kasey Kahne. Needless to say after 3 half beers hit me that was it. I confronted him and he went to push me. I grabbed him by the throat and squeezed until he passed out. After security came, everyone there said it was his fault( he came around after about 45 seconds) and he was hauled away.
Just goes to show you what some "Real Fans " are really like.
The "fans" that threw things at Kyle Busch have a special treat coming to them tonight. Stay tuned.
Kountrypapa, you're right, those are NOT true fans. If I had seen you at the track, I'd have wished your driver good luck and hope for a great (and safe) race.
Noahspop- As long as poeple pride themselves on being drunk idiots at the races we will have this problem...everyone needs to take responsibility for their actions and call security on these non-fans.
TNT coverage was ok, they didnt show the leaders enough and seemed overly thrilled with the wrecks as opposed to the racing. The commercials over and over were a bit annoying but your right, way better to see all the racing at least!
I loved that TNT's coverage showed more racing.
It is terrible when fans throw things and just gives a bad impression of our sport. NASCAR probably needs to ban alcohol from inside the track gates and would have to stop selling it. That is what it would take for these so-called "fans" to show some respect.
Didnt like the pop up commercials. and the announcers anouncing all of the commercials. Was suppose to be for better viewing of the race, but i think it was just to get in more commercials and to actually get you too see them instead of walking away. Why cant they just show the race uninterupted, thats what we want to see, not commercials. Would rather watch on payperview with no commercials.
Hey Kountry, I cant imagine what I would do with Noah flagging and some Drunk chuck a can hits my son with one....
Hey Jon..Tell me they will rott in bad beer for life..Lol..
Klvalus..No matter the coverage, we will never see it all with out being there. I love seeing races with my son at my side..Even if all we see is the front strech..
Gonger.. Tracks need to go to cups, and with this end carry inns. I will hate that but this is what they are bringing it to.
Photo..I would like that, to sit in family. With Noah flagging we like to sit at the flag stand. Always enjoyable with Bryon and Kim for the trucks and Keith with the Nationwide cars.
Hyrtwe.. I had to do a comment alone for you. Those Commercials payed for us to be able to watch all the green flag laps. If you want payper view..HotPass on DirectTv has you covered they have Jr everyweek. So shut up watch the race and stop with all you negativity. YOu sound like a can thrower...Are you?
Right on Pop. I too liked the commercials in the corner and hope the other networks pick up on it too.
NASCAR should follow the examplr of MLBaseball and sell their beer in cups (how good of a arm do you have to have to get a cup all the way onto the track) and, stop selling beer 3/4 of the way through the race.
I am on board as well. Great coverage and a really great, entertaing race.
The people that throw things are ridiculous and they are no race fans to me. They are clowns that want to act like fools and do something incredibly stupid.
I know that it is not Dale Jr's fault but his fans(not all of them of course)are the worst. They are out of control and act like idiots. I see it on TV and I see it at the track. I feel sorry for Dale Jr. and his real fans who have to put up with these morons.
I'll say that TNT did what was required to show a race. Awesome? No. They still have audio problems coming out of breaks. And while I like the Petty-Dallenbach banter, they sometimes "talk over" specific track action that needs to be addressed. Bottom line - that is the MINIMUM amount of coverage that should be given.
The race was good, BUT restrictor plates are still an artificial enhancement of racing. Also, what is the % of G-W-C finishes that have actually finished under the green flag? I'll guess less than 1/3rd.
ANYONE that throws anything on a race track should be kept on a video file and prevented from entering ANY RACE or OTHER SPORTING EVENT for the rest of their lives. Same thing with those that incite violence in the stands or in the parking lot.
noahspop- can't comment on race coverage. I'me relegated to watching the race via race buddy (basically raw camera feeds, no commentary) and trying to keep up with the action via lap-by-lap on nascar.com(which is always 20 laps behind the actual race).
As for unruly fans, they're in every sport. When I was in college, I opted to buy reserved seat tickets to football games rather than sit in the student section(free). I still had to deal with drunken fans throwing things, but at least if they accidentally hit me, they handed me a couple of $20's to cover the cleaning bill.
Well I am a Father of an awsome 9 yearold junior flaggman. Together we are the biggest racefans. We have an awsome diecast collection and love to get to any races we can. I became a fan with my mother, and now my son with me. I work full time as a machinist, and father. This will be something new and enjoyable, I will also get my sons view and let you no that as well. Well now about the teams and drivers we like. I am a Hendrick fan #24 preferably, and Noah my son Roush and the #17. So last spring was fun when we went to Bristol.
