Kyle vs Jr. with 14 down and 22 to go.
Jun 13, 2008 | 1:25AM | report this

Well Kyle in the stats is kicking the rubber off Jrs. car. We have 14 races down and 22 to go. It is fun as an anti Earnhardt fan. "Still hate he is at Hendrick"..LOL..It is kinda fun to watch. What the black sheep from Hendricks camp is doing. I am enjoying this.

 Ok lets break it down.

Kyle has 4 wins. Jr has.......O wins..Hmm Kyle is winning here.

 Ok lets do top fives.

Kyle has 9 top fives..wow nine in 14 races.  Jr. has 6. Not to shabby there.

 Ok top tens 6th-10th.

Kyle 1. Well 9 others are top fives...ok what about Jr. 3. well that puts them almost even with total top 10s. So Jr. isnt doing to bad.

Now Kyle also has the worst finish of 43. Jr has 40th. So Jr. is better there.

They are also even with outside the top 20 2 A piece.

So I guess they are not to far apart on the year. Other than the 4 wins.

Jr. has to be happy with just  not blowing up. And Kyle he is on top of the world.

Oh wait another stat. Kyle has won in all 3 big series this year...How many has Jr. got..Hmm.O again. Ok Ok.. I will stop picking. Jr. is doing better than last year.

Kyle on the other hand. Well he is Kicking #### and taking names. This is a fun thing to watch. Cant wait till Kyle wins in Chevy,Dodge, and Fords back yard...Though I am still a Chevy man...And hope Jeff Gordon pulls out the victory. It is a great year..

What gets me are the number of Jr. fans that know very little about the sport and are just people that jumped on the bandwagon. It will be interesting to see if the recent upsurge by Kahne pulls some of the Bud fans over to him and back to the Bud car. And wasn't Mark Martin's red and white 8 interesting looking last weekend?

Sounds to me like people are jumping on Kyles bandwagon. Where were they last year?
The REAL Jr fans were with him long before last year and will stay loyal. We don't jump ship when the going gets rough and they certainly are not that this year. As for the rest, well, they were never real fans to begin with and they are welcome to jump on the bandwagon with Kyle.
Sure, there are some bad Jr fans but they will be bad fans no matter where they land! That is not Jr's fault.
You can come with all the comparisons you want but we will gladly stick with our guy! JR!
HIS WINS WILL COME !
In the meanwhile we will patiently wait and I'm sure it won't be long now!

BTW Noahspop... you are a real Jeff fan and I'm sure that just because he has yet to win this year you would not abandon Jeff!LOL!
Do you believe for a minute that his fans have left and jumped on the Kyle or Kasey bandwagon?

nice work noahspop. I have been a Jeff Gordon fan since he was a teenager wheeling sprint cars but I've also been a Kyle fan since the first time I saw his awesome talent. As for Jr., well he has grown on me. I respect his love of the sport's history and the way he handled himself through the Theresa mess. I don't think he'll ever have the talent JG and KB have but he is consistently a top ten points talent most years - far better than his detractors realize. I also agree that it is only a handful of his fans who are jerks. Most are just great race fans who love him more for who he is as a person than for his accomplishments and that's fine with me. He has been great for the sport and I hope he wins again soon. If JG or KB doesn't get a championship this year, I hope Jr. does.

Stats are just stats, if they could predict the future all the book makers in vegas would be bankrupt. lol

It is good to make comparisions but the one we can't see on paper is do they have that fire in their belly every week. We know the great ones did and they have got the championships to prove it.

MJR & 14Falcon the sport has many fans who are not REAL fans they watch sometimes and they root for the winners. Whoever is hot right now is their guy. So yeah you will see more Bud gear comming out and the Kyle Bandwagon needs helper springs. At least they help pay the bills. lol

We will always support our guys till the end. GO SMOKE!

Have a great fathers day and enjoy the race!

Noah. hope that Gutt is healing LOL.

You all have some great points. It always seeems the bad apples in the Jr Clan give everyone else a bad name. Junior is 3rd in the points and having the most consistent run this year of anyone not named Kyle Busch. True fans will sacrifice wins for a championship anyday.

What's sad is that there are WAY too many fans now that have no knowledge of the sport and jump ship to whoevers Hot at the time. I'm guessing if you polled the new age of NASCAR fans, less than half would even know where to find a carburetor on the engine... Now that's embarassing.

It's like asking a Patriots or Cowboys fan what position Tom Brady or Tony Romo plays, and they say "He's that guy that throws the thing acrosss the thing and makes points." LOL.

Moseby..Its not a sharp stick.
Falcons..I was a B usch fan from the start at Hendrick. I am a diehard Gordon fan from his Sprint car start. And yea what was up with the red #8? That was eary.
MJR...Yea I am a real fan. An anti Earnhardt fan. Sarted with his dad. My mom is an Earnhardt Sr. fan. So I had to like someone else. Met Jeff in 1988 in indiana at the tracks and went that way. I am a Hendrick fan but still cant like Jr. Just me..

TW..I cant like Jr.its my anti Earnhardt way. Had to like other than the guy mom liked..LOL..She was the biggest Sr. fan. So I still like the Hendrick Blacksheep Kyle. The kid was good from the get go. Wrecked early in his career. Kinda like Gordon in his Busch series career.

elad..Stats are fun but the are not the race. The race is for the trophy, bragging rights. Kahne doesn't need wagon jumpers. The guy has the fans. I know alot of Jr. nation are good fans and staying with him in his great times with out a win. As for your Smoke man..He was great in ELDORA last week. Noah an I were there..:)

Tex.. you owm me sum TUMMS..lol..As for the Carb. Is that hooked to the a-frame. Next to the driveshaft..LOL...Ok OK. enough B.S. I am loving the freindly battle between the Shrub and Busch. It will be a good year.. And as for Brady-Romo. Go Bears and who is my QB there anyway..Later Tex

I don't like saying any fans aren't "real" fans. That leads to people who are loyal and optimistic to the core saying things like people who are more realistic in their views when their driver is struggling aren't "real" fans.

But I guess there are always people that follow the hot item of the day and it seems to take something away from the fan that has been there all along. I watched Jr. come up through the Busch series and admire him for his actions on and off the track. But there is something about his legion I can't stand. The beer throwing incidents showcase the type of fans I dislike. The fans leaving early are another part of the picture.

Similar things happen in other sports. When McGwire was hitting the long ball in St. Lou, there were McGwire shirts everywhere. Seems like lot's of women especially had them. The chicks were truly digging the long ball. I doubt most of those fans could have even told you what a squeeze play was.

At that time I couldn't find a Ram's fan to split a season ticket with me. A few years later they start winning and everyone has Rams gear on when it had been easy to come by cheap all over town a few years before. All of a sudden I became a bad guy because I liked the Chiefs and Falcons more than the Rams when a year earlier I hadn't run into hardly a St. Louisan that gave a fiddler's #### whether or not I liked the Rams.

Then there is the hockey playoff deal where the hard working fan puts out his hard earned cash all year long to buy the best ticket he can afford but come playoff time can't afford the better seat because some suit gets it that doesn't even pay enough attention to know what color of shirt to wear to the arena for the blackout.

I have to hand it to the Miller High Life Commercials though They show this kind of deal pretty well. I love the ad about the suite at the baseball game. It is "####! Dead On!"

Maybe the best word for the type of fan I am describing is "shallow."

p.s. Don't get me started on Danicamania and people that know Helio Castroneves only from Dancing With The Stars.

Well you missed Mikey Waltrip. He has been extreemly consistent finishing around the top 35 to top 40 each week . No other driver can claim that stat. Ok well maybe a few of the back markers can.

I like Danica because she is an Illinoian too. But many others are just on the "hot chick" or "girl power" bandwagon. I don't care much for that. I look at her first as a talented driver, not a great driver, yet perhaps, but a talented one.

ABOUT ME

noahspop2001
Well I am a Father of an awsome 9 yearold junior flaggman. Together we are the biggest racefans. We have an awsome diecast collection and love to get to any races we can. I became a fan with my mother, and now my son with me. I work full time as a machinist, and father. This will be something new and enjoyable, I will also get my sons view and let you no that as well. Well now about the teams and drivers we like. I am a Hendrick fan #24 preferably, and Noah my son Roush and the #17. So last spring was fun when we went to Bristol.
