CUBS: Welcome to the family Jim Edmonds.
Jun 12, 2008 | 8:25PM | report this

What a way to make it to the loving family. The man had a hot bat when we needed it. His glove was never off but his bat had cooled. Then comes the game tonight. The third game of three for the Braves at the Friendl confines of Wrigley Field. My Cubs were down 2-1. Jim comes to bat and there was magic. Jim swung hard and swift. The bat made solid contact with the rawhide. The ball flew like it had wings. It was out of here. Over the Ivy and gone. Jim had a nice smile on his face as he circled the bases. Awsome..

Well the game went on. 10th no score. Then we get to the bottom of the 11th. Cubs load the bases. The braves gave up. Hit batter. Walked in the game winning run. Go Cubs Go...

Thankyou Jim for wanting to be a part of the loving family. Bring a desert to dinner this sunday. I have a feeling you are here to stay. Thanks again everyone on the team for pulling together. Welcome home Jim welcome home.

A healthy Jimmy is a dangerous Jimmy.
His bat and injuries are what 'got' him cut.

Second consecutive homestand sweep, pretty impressive. They are now just starting to lengthen their division lead... Here's hoping Soriano's loss won't slow them too much... Here again, this is where a manager's decisions come to the forefront.

Hang in!

The Cubs have become my front runner to make the Series. Edmonds adds some nice depth to their team.

I'm happy with Edmonds' recent success, but some of this love is over the top. He is the right guy to lead the team? Judging from what many of his exteammates have said, he is a pretty big jerk.
On a different note, noahspop2001, did you even watch the game? The contact wasn't solid, the ball didn't fly and it barely made it over the ivy. The ball landed in the damn basket, not out on Waveland avenue.
Before i get accused of being a miserable Sox fan, let it be known that I am a diehard Cubs fan like the rest of you, just not as reactive to the game-by-game goings on.
Fans that overreact to events like this are what give us Cubs fans a bad name.

I am a big fan of the veteran, Edmonds. I always cringed when he came to bat against the Cubs and relish it when he comes to bat now. He is always a threat for a long ball or a well placed double. the 12th proved that. Tonight (the 13th) he didn't get the second chance in as many innings to tie the game but the more he proves himself, the more he will see time over Johnson (isn't that a great positions to be in...having the luxury of choosing b/t Edmonds and Johnson? The cubs are stacked this year. I hope they take advantage of it and improve the pitching (they give up WAY too many HRs)

I couldn't believe Jimmy wanted to leave St.Louis. He was scared with the gaggle of outfielders and the coming of Rasmus, Jimmy thought he'd lose a lot of playing time. He wanted to play everyday, Cards Mgt. couldn't guarantee it, and the next thing you know, he's traded to San Diego. Then you guys pick him up for a song! He's a class act, a great hitter and a daily defensive highlite reel. You're lucky to have him and I wish him the best. He is missed by his fans in St. Louis, at least the ones who can forgive him for signing with the Cubbies! I wish Jimmy the best! Good luck down the road Wrigleyville! Go Cards!
