With the 2008 NFL season on the horizon it is ALMOST TIME!
It is less than 3 months until the Kickoff of the 2008 NFL season, and I for one feel the need for the proper diet of a sunday tailgate party.
I know there are some people out there who have KILLER recipe's of their favorite tailgate food. Chili comes to mind, Beer Bottom chicken ( they always bleep butt!) Ribs, Wings, and some people even make fajitas and Carne Asada!
What I propose is a few people share one of their FAVOURITE recipe's with the rest of us NFL fans who are jonseing for the beginnig of the season! I will part with one of my three best homemade secrets.
Louisiana style Buffalo Chicken Wings
5 lbs chicken wings. (costco has a deal on a bag of wings) 1 2 bottles of Justin Wilsons Chicken Wing Sauce (this is a very good sauce, and makes mild wings in my opinion) 2 One large bag with 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup corn starch, 2 tablespoons poultry seasoning, 1 teaspooon cayenne pepper, 1 tablespoon garlic powder, 2 teaspoons paprika, onion salt or onion powder may also be added at 1 teaspoon or to taste.
Mix all powders in the large bag, and shake about 8 wings at a time. the wings go directly into either the deep fryer at 390 degrees until they float for a few minutes and are just past golden brown, the larger the wing the browner thay need to be. You may cook as many as the deep fryer can hold without having more than a 10 degree drop in oil temp. 15 wings per gallon might be a good standard.
The wings may be barbequed for 45 minutes, (my preferance, as they are healthier than fryed) turning at least once. weber grills work best for me. Cook time depends on weather and altitude, my times are based in the desert in Arizona so adjust accordingly.
Lastly, have your sauce in a large pot, 1/2 bottle per 15 wings. As soon as the wings are done they go directly in the sauce, stir until evenly then serve immediatly.
My sauce is made from My favorite hot sauce, with 1 stick of butter, 1 secret pepper. Sautee while the wings are cooking. Durkee red devil makes for an excellent base to sautee butter and peppers in. then I add Arizona Gunslinger until I get a very hot wing. So if you prefer HOT wings I recommend making the sauce this way as Justins sauce is mild and a tad sweet.
For a GREAT hamnburger, add 1/4 cup Justin's sauce to 1 pound of hamburger and -q- it up!
I hope to hear from some great tailgaters with perfected recipes that they are willing to share! ENJOY THE 2008 SEASON EVERYONE!
Who is to blame for the Cowboys loss to the Eagles?
Short answer…who cares? Its not like I do, so I blame Keith12322 for giving me this subject on his blogging competition. I am A Steeler fan so anytime the Cowboys loose I am happy!
But lets get on with it. We can blame Jessica Simpson, after all she is a distraction, not for me, I like brunettes, but I wouldn’t kick her out of the back seat! T.O. was right, what was she doing in Texas during a football game; did anyone tell her where she was?
We can blame Wade Phillips, but he is to fat, and probably ate the game plan by accident.
I know, let’s blame T.O., after all he showed his true colors again crying about the play calls on the sidelines during the game. I guess he was p.o’d about the game plan. ( see previous reason) And of course he did drop another critical 3rd down pass.
What about the Dallas Defense? All they had to do was stop Brian Westbrook. I guess the vaunted Dallas defense wasn’t so good for a change, maybe not totally their fault.
But we are here to blame Tony Romo, after all, he is the face of the team. With 8 straight incompletion’s to start the game, he was defiantly not on his game! (See previous reason)
So who is to blame? Let’s start with Tony Romo, the city of Irving, Michael Irvin, Bill Parcels, Jerry Jones, Jenny Jones, Cam Mitchell, The New York Titans, The Colt 45’s, Colt 45, Jessica Simpson, Homer Simpson, the supposedbuckles, Buck Owens, Terrell Owens, Owen Wilson, Wilson Sports, Sports Bars all over america.................…………….
The San Diego Chargers went on the road to Tennessee to play the Titans Sunday afternoon in one of the few games this weekend with playoff implications for both teams. On the face of it, if you look at the stats, you see Tomlinson rushed for a 5.6 average on 26 carries. You also see Phillip Rivers had two interceptions and say "no brainer, L.T." Not so fast, L.T. had 10 rushes for 30 yards in the first half, but only 15 yards net if you take the 15 yard unsportsmanlike penalty. Rivers wasn't much better with 37 yards passing over 3 quarters! L.T.'s touchdown in OT was big, but they don't get there without Rivers. Billy Volek came in for an injured Rivers in the second quarter and had a 0.0 pass rating on two possesions. If Rivers dosent come back they lose, MAYBE without LT they lose, but no chance to win with Volek. For Rivers to come back after hobbling off the field was what the Chargers needed to get the fire going, and I have a hard time with watching LT show up his quarterback by walking away from him on the sideline. Phillip Rivers is the Most Valuable Player, give LT the most visible pouter!
After the way that the "best tandem in football" played sunday nigh, it's time to acknowledge that the Chad and T.J. show is middle of the road at BEST! Every time Chad Johnson goes against physical corners he is only mediocre. T.j. cannot be considered great if he spends every play complaining to the referee! Even when he makes a great catch, he has to whine to the nearest official.l
The real BEST reciever tandem is in Arizona, and its sad that a small market hurts their chance at national recognition. The BEST reciever in football is, you guessed it, Hines Ward! What? You thought I would say T.o? with as many passes he drops, he is only upper management. Moss? Way to selfish, to take a play off means not blocking on run plays!
As for Hines ward, he is class, doesn't get on refs and blocks on EVERY run play! For him to take a play off would be sacrelidge. To bounce up after a big hit and Smile IS the best way to humble a defender. his decleating of Ed Reed earlier this year proved his injury is healed, And he played 2 games injured. YOu don't see that out of these other recievers!
Honorable mention goes to Furry of Detroit, and the Holt-Bruce combo in St Lois, these are recievers that play every down, and know where the sticks are when the play has to be made! If I missed your favorite reciever it is only because I do not watch them specifically, I only know that on 4th and 17 I would take ANY of the last 6 before I would take either of the first two! And Hines Ward any day!
Web blogs have gotten way out of hand, and it is my hope that Fox Sports will start to adminstrate as they should. I don't like or understand why some people have nothing to say and are only posting insults in an attempt to put people off. It does for some measure upset people, but not for the reasons that matter, it's just rediculous and clutters up the web posts.
I am sure that none of the people that I have seen post insults would not even have the guts to talk to me, much less try to insult me as I am an adult and have no tolerance for stupidity. I have no qualms beating the #### out of people that insult me to my face, and guess what? no one does, so what gives people the right to do it online? I guess FSN does.
I have been insulted for improper punctuation, please, get a life. It has been 30 years since school, and I am an adult, and more than that, a MAN and I can do as I please with no reprecussions as long as I don't hurt anybody. Whish seems what some people are trying to do. I know that they are just trying to make themselvs feel better for their own inadequacies and no life of their own. But administrators need to delete their posts off of the net anytime that their content is insult laden.
as for me, if you got something to say, i would luv to hear it. if not- SHUT UP! and anyone who wants to insult me can have my address, just email me and I would be happy to give it to you as i would love to see the look on your face just as i am shoving that insult right back where it came from.
well, i am 46, lets see, i am a people person, i like movies, fine wine and dancing.
wtf... i aint lookin for a date, read my first post, then send an email, i will be happy to chat.
THATS me, well it looks like wilie parker, but its me!
