This question may not sound as stupid after you read this. It's no doubt that Nash makes his teammates better then Kobe does. But....... how much?
Nash took good players and made them better or even great. But how much does Nash deserve, Marion was already a great player before Nash, when Nash came he barely averaged a extra piont. Quiten Richardson went down three piont per game when Nash came. And Joe Johnson averaged a extra piont. Amare got the most from Nash averaging six more pionts a game. But Amare was on the rise with or without Nash, looking at his numbers increasing each year. But what about the Mavs, they just got better when Nash left and Dirk is having his best seasons since he left. But Nash was at the right spot at the right time with the Suns. But it is without any doubt that Nash made this team.
Kobe made no names into starters for a playoff team. Smush Parker is the biggest example, he went from three pionts per game to eleven pionts per game the next season. Walton is having his best year under this new Kobe and young Andrew Bynum is becoming a talanted center. And one of the players that get the best set ups by anouther player is Brian Cook. Anouther no name that is starting at PF for the Lakers, Cook gets the best set up shots by Kobe, outside of Nash and Amare, Cook gets great looks at the basket because of Kobe.
So who makes thier teammates better? Nash made good players better and Kobe made no names into something. Both players have great systems too. So the piont of this blog is to show how simular these players are in a different way. How one gets too much credit for what he does and the other not enough. But both are GREAT.
Is what Mich fans said, not USC, or Florida. Michagan did not play anybody during the season, except the last 2 games of the year and we clearly see they can not compete as a top 5 team. USC should have not #### arounded agaist UCLA. We'll see what happens next year.
Go to the L.A, Was, box score and look at the free throw attempts. Something has to change in the NBA. Off with David Stern's head. Last night a brawl, new stupid ball, most Tech's in a season, players cant play the game the way its supposed to be played. This aint #### basketball. It's i dont know............ barbie doll play or some #### Younger refs would help too, not old #### seanial muther ####kers.
The West is great and the East is horrible!!!! The fourth seed in the West would be the first seed in the East or tied. The eight seed in the West is 7-4 and was in the finals last year, the eight seed in the East is a 4-6 Wizard team. There is still no competion to witch side is better. What can the East do to change this?
It's happening in both Basketball and Football. Ref calls are becoming to much in the game. In football thier is too much penalties protecting the qb and pass interfierence is too much apart of the game, when the refs are controling the outcome thier is a huge problem. And the new rules in the NBA are nothing but BS. The refs are actully controling the game. It's giving the refs too much power, and when they have too much power they will call calls on the simplest stuff, these new rules hurts teams like the Suns who wanna play fast but they can't. It takes the emotion of the game away, AND THATS WHAT IT"S ALL ABOUT!!!!
Is anyone suprised, that the Redskins are 2-5 and the Cowboys are 3-3. This happens almost every year, ESPN(Sean Salsibury, Trey Wingo, Merril Hodge, and ect.) predict teams like this to contend for the NFC East, or contend for the SB being the cowboys. Do thies guys forget the quaterbacks for these teams, the bad o-lines, and at times inconstitant defense. Drew Bledseo take the Cowboys to the SB, anyone believe that. Mark Brunell contend for the NFC East, was this really gonna happen.
Not suprised that the Rams are 4-2, two years ago this exact team was one game away to the NFC champ game. Last year they were 6-10 with Marc Bulger missing 8 1/2 games, Steven Jackson missing 2 games, Torry Holt missing 3 games, and Isace Bruce missing just about the whole season. This is the same team that went against the Falcons 2 years ago in the 2nd round of the playoffs. People were prediting 7-9 season this year, for the rams.
There are three predictions this offseason in the NFL that where made by guys like - Sean Salsbury, Trey Wingo, or any other sports journalist. These predictons made no sense.
1. The NY Giants would have a good defense. - Last season they had a not so good pass defense and a ok run defense. Signing Lavar Arrington is not going to help your pass defense, he will help the run. Saying this team would have one of the better defenses this year because of Lavar is a stupid prediction. Your defense does not go from one of the worst to one of the best because of a overrated defenseive player you signed.
2. The Cardinals have a chance to win the NFC West. - Last time I checked they had a horrible offensive line and a bad defense. The Edge helps but your team does not go from one of the worst to one of the best because of a RB you signed, the reason be is because of thier bad offensive line. They will probaly finish third in the NFC West. The Rams dont look to bad right now.
3. The Redskins would contend for the Super Bowl. - This prediction was not mentioned as much, but for the people that said this, it was a stupid prediction. They have a good defense, I like thier running game even thou it is overrated. But the killer is possibly the worst passing team in the NFL. It doesent seem like this team knows how to win.
These where some of the predictions that were made during the offseason that did not make much sense.
Mets vs. Reds - The Mets should win this series easily. They have better pitching and hitting, Reds should score some runs but not enough do really compete. Not much to say about this series.
Cardinals vs. Dodgers - This series will be a close one. The cards have beat the Dodgers 8 times in a row. The only major problem with the cards is good solid pitching, they have ace in Carpenter. I believe the Dodgers will win this series, they maybe be the most complete team in the NL.
Mets vs. Dodgers - The Mets hit home runs. The Dodgers hit for average. The Dodgers lead the NL in batting average without any competion (278). 2nd place (272). The Mets are hitting 264 for a average, but they hit a good amount of home runs. The Dodgers are last in home runs. The Mets have a better era then the Dodgers but I like the Dodgers starting pitching more. More veterans and depth. The overall hitting and pitching should just be enough to beat the NL leading Mets. 3 starting Dodger pitchers have a World Series rings - Brad Penny who leads NL in wins, Derek Lowe a solid #2 pitcher, and Greg Maddux who has pitched great only giving up a total of 2 er in 3 starts. All with WS rings. The Mets a great pair of starters in Tom Glavine and Pedro Martinez, health and age may be a problem in the long run. This is why I have chosen the Dodgers to win the NL. I am a Dodgers fan, and this had nothing do do with my chioce. I looked at stats and players to make my chioce.
There is a few NFL teams this year that people are expecting to much. I would like to start with the Cowboys, people are saying this team has SuperBowl potental. Has everbody forgot about the not so good offensive line and the unsure defense, this team may also have a problem with the inconstant running backs. Im also not sold on Drew Bledsoe getting a team to the superbowl. Anouther possible overrated team this year is the NY Giants, everbody is expecting a good year from Eli I would like to see, and there defense did get better in the offseason but not as much as people are saying. The Giants will be a good team but they will also be disapionting too. Im also not buying the Dolphins and the Bucs, Dolphins I believe are not quite ready to become a great team but they will perform, and with the Bucs, C. Williams needs to play a full season and Chris Simms needs to perform better, there defense will still be good but it is also ageing. Look for down years for the Broncos and Jaguars, Plummer cant have two good years in a row or not like last year. And Fred Taylor cant stay healthy. And finally the Seahawks they will still contend for the Superbowl, but they wont be as good as last year, free agent losses - Steve Hutchinson, Joe Juravicous, M. Manual there safety. They did get some key free agents tho. I am not feeling good about there backfield. And there is that curse of loosing the Superbowl.
I dont see it. The NFC east really being that good. I do think it is the most complete divsion. But the problem is does anybody have them going to the superbowl or even the NFC championship game. You could mention the cowboys having a chance, but if you really look at that team there a big question? Can there offensive line block, will the running game be constinant, and most importantly can they play defense ( witch alot of people are saying isn't that good), and bledsoe and T.O. work together - they will get along. But can bledsoe get rid of the ball and get it to him. Redskins great defense but no offensive - Brunell is old and Portis may be the most overrated RB in the NFL. Giants? Eli might not be ready yet, and will see about the D. Eagles, who the hell knows whats going on there. The NFC east is a good solid division but its not a beast. Tell me what you think.
Marshall Faulk will be known as one of the greatest RB in NFL history, and probally the most versitile. Faulk is only 35 yards away from passing Jim Brown for 8th place on all time rushing yards list. I hope he does not retire and come back in the 07 season so you know it will be his last, and you can appreciate what he did.
There have been a few NFL teams that no one has mentioned about this upcoming season, teams I believe are being underrated! In the AFC I would have to say it is the chargers, and the ravens. Chargers because of thier solid defense and good running game because of LT who can also catch the ball. The reason this team is underrated is beacause of new QB P. Rivers who has been in the league for 3 years. Ravens have always had a good defense and now maybe a good offense with new QB Mcnair, people arn't sure about this team because of the running game. If they do run good this team could be something. And in the NFC it would be the Rams, and the Lions. Rams - With key offseason free agent signing's Will Witherspoon, LaRio Glover, and Corey Chavous to the defense along with new defensive cordinator Jim Hasslet a former headcoach, this team may have a pretty good defense. And we already know this team as a great offense. And the Lions with new offensive cordinator Mike Marts this team may have also a great offense, this team may not be a playoff contender but they are better then what people think.
