Mysteriously one of my NOT awards has gone missing from this weekend's Subway Fit 500 Hot or Not article...luckily I have the original copy! LOL Here's what you would have missed...
FOX – The network’s commitment to show the end of the Yankee’s v. Red Sox’s game making NASCAR fans sit through endless foul balls and missing the promised green flag had fans howling like a pack of rabid coyotes. Yet more evidence the broadcasts need to use split screen technology on race day.
Stay tuned Tuesday morning for the rest of Hot or Not from Phoenix!
No split screen !! Just know to put a show that can't go over time before a race start time. They used the split screens during the race and the cars were so far away from camera you could,t tell who it was. Oh yeah one was Jimmie J 3 to 4 car length ahead of the next car and it was a battle for postion. We were told after,, Yeah right.
This is the first time this has happened with FOX. Can't we just give them a break? I bet our men and women in the armed forces wish they could complain about this situation. Many of them were covering each others backs and didn't even have the chance to watch anything. Let's pray for their safety and thank them that we can sit at home or where ever and complain.
I'm not trying to be mean or ugly here. I'm just saying that this is really a minor issue compared to real life problems. Let's just forget it and move on. What's a few seconds? Most of the NASCAR fans that have a gripe with this are the same ones that complain about the prerace shows being too long. Please, this is a non-issue compared to everything else in the world isn't it?
Forensic- They should have tried something IMO, true the cars are pretty hard to see on the split screen.
RA6AN- Sounds like you have Hot Pass!
Vol- Absolutely perspective is needed but I also think it could have been handled much better. I think they deserve to be on the Not list for this one...
KLV - You were just being honest with what a lot of the fans felt. FOX just happened to have one of those rare screw ups happen this past broadcast.
I can understand why they edited your copy...but quite honestly the people reading it on this website already have given them a NOT award for the Phoenix weekend anyway, lol.
I understand what you are saying here. I hope you were not upset with my comments. It wasn't a big deal to me, but it was to others. Again, I understand. Still friends?
