MY BOOK IS COMING SOON!! KENRICK THOMAS
Dec 14, 2007 | 10:13AM | report this

HEY WHAT'S UP EVERYONE!!! IT'S KENRICK THOMAS, AND I HAVE A BOOK THAT'S COMING OUT. IT'S CALLED "NONSENSE IN SPORTS"

Sports has taken a fall, and I felt my voice was needed. Writing this book, helps everyone understand what sports really is. It shouldn't be about issues, performance enhancing drugs, and athletes getting into trouble. Sports should be about competition, and not about personal problems. There also many people that have thoughts, and opinions about topics. I voiced my opinion about it, and there all negative topics. That means sports has failed.

Street Life Athletes!
Jun 17, 2007 | 2:18PM | report this

It's  sad when we have great athletes, but staying out of trouble is something they need help with. Recently this has been a problem, because it's up to the players themselves to stop their trouble in the streets. Having lot's of talent is hard to come by, and when someone works hard to get to where they need to go and they achieve there goal is something special, but when they can't stay out of trouble that's when the problem comes.

Being successful in life is everyones goal, but if your passionate about accomplishing great achievements in life you should be willing to stay out of harms way. Leaving the streets alone sometimes can be hard for some athletes to do, because growing up and hanging out with the wrong crowd is all they known.

Many people think when a player makes it to where they need to be, that they will change but it's different because when a person is brought up a different way from others, they tend to act the way they grew up. It's understandable when a player has a hard time staying out of trouble when they were around it all their life, but it's sad when they let it get the best of them.

When an athlete is young, people expect them to make mistakes because it's apart of life. In life it's all about learning from your mistakes and moving on, and if an athlete does this then their going through life. Hanging out with the wrong people can bring an athletes career down, because it's starting to happen with Tennessee Titans cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones, and if he doesn't acknowledge this his career will be over. Adam "Pacman" Jones has said that he will take his friends over his career and that's sad, because his friends hasn't done anything for him, but give him a bad image.

Denver Nuggets guard Allen Iverson has been through some hard times away from the basketball court as well, and hanging out with the wrong people was his biggest problem. As Allen Iverson gotten older he knew that running with the wrong people is going to lead him to the wrong path, and possibly death. Now Allen Iverson is with a new team and now he has a better chance of winning a championship, and staying away from trouble is something he has done.

When athletes have a lot of talent and there able to be successful with their gift that's something that everyone should pay attention to, and when these athletes hang around the wrong people it's like there choosing violets over there gift God has given them. I understand how hard it is to leave your friends when you have been around them for a while, but if there friends cared about you, they will tell you that hanging out around the bad crowd is only going to bring you down.

Getting involved with drugs has been the biggest problem for athletes that hang around the wrong people. Being a drug user can hurt an athletes image and it will bring less fans torwards there way. Doing drugs like using marijuana, can kill a persons brain sells and being an athlete your brain needs to be useful. If an athlete have been using drugs it's most likely means they've been using it since there day's in high school and college.

A cool person of mine knew someone who was doing drugs with an NBA players when they were in high school, and this player has failed multiple drug test in the NBA.

It's sad that this had to happen to the African-American athletes, because when you look at it, the people that are involved with this problem are mostly black. Growing up in a bad neigborhood and being around the wrong people is something  that a lot of African-American athletes has done and sometimes it's all that they known. Growing up around the wrong people doesn't give anybody an excuse to get into trouble.

Young African-American athletes need to learn how to stay out of trouble, because there career is going to be the one that falls. It's not hard to wonder why we as African-Americans have a bad image or the reason why we can't get along with one another, it's because we do things like this. If we were able to get along with each other and stick together, we as African-Americans will be successful, but were letting the streets and the negativity get the best of us.

Two are to be blame for Ted Johnson

Two are to be blame for Ted Johnson

Former New England Patroit linebacker Ted Johnson can't play in the NFL because of an injury that could have heal and he would have been able to play, but according to Ted Johnson this injury gotten worst because his former head coach Bill Belichick told him to practice when he had a concussion.

Ted Johnson has said that he does things with no back talk, he does things with no if, ands, and but's abouts it. There's just one problem, if you know you have a concussion why is he out there practicing?

It doesn't matter who told Ted Johnson to go out there and practice, Ted Johnson should know that he shouldn't be practicing and he should have told the coach like what Bill Belichick said. Ted Johnson is a man, he is able to open his mouth and say something, not just go out there and practice and risk your life.

It's good to listen to your coach, but when you have a concussion you should know your not support to be playing any sport.

Bill Belichick should get blame for this also, because if your the head coach you should know who is injuried or not. He is the head coach they should know about everything and whats going on the field, and he didn't so that means he wasn't doing his job. This was a concussion, that's probably the most dangerous injury in the NFL. Bill Bilchick should be awared of who his that on his football team.

Jake Plummer on his way out!
Feb 03, 2007 | 7:52AM | report this

Jake Plummer on his way out!

The Denver Broncos had a disapointing season this year, missing the playoffs was something nobody expected. Winning the division and making it to the second round of the playoffs is what fan's were expecting to see out of the Denver Broncos, but it didn't happen. The defense wasn't the problem for the Denver Broncos, that defense is never a problem for them, but there inconsistent play from the offense was clearly the reason why the Devner Broncos were no were to be found in the playoffs.

The changes that were made at the quarterback position could had been the problem. Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer hasn't been living up to the hype and that's been the story for him his whole career.

Because of his inconsistent back round, the Denver Broncos are looking to shop round Jake Plummer and I don't blame  them. There's been some talk about the Denver Broncos cutting Jake Plummer, and the Houston Texans picking him up but that's just talk until we see it happen.

It's a good idea for the Denver Broncos to look around for a player to trade for Jake Plummer, because there will be teams interested in getting Jake Plummer and am pretty sure there will be some good players out there that the Broncos can get in return.

Green Bay might get Moss
Jan 31, 2007 | 4:25PM | report this

Green Bay might get Moss

The Green Bay Packers didn't make the playoffs this season, but they did make some improvement from there worst season they had ever last year. It shouldn't be hard for the Green Bay Packers to make the playoffs in there division, it's not competitive. The Chicago Bears are the only team to make the playoffs in the NFC South.

The Green Bay Packers went 8-8 and they finished second in there division, so if safe to say that there just one player away from making the playoffs. I don't think anybody was expecting the Green Bay Packers to have that mush success, but making the playoffs next season is still questionable because you don't know what the other team's in that division plans are.

For what is being said ,the Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre will like to see Oakland Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss in green next season, which will do them good on the field, but not in the locker room or the side lines.

If nice to see that Brett Favre wants the Green Bay Packers to pick up a player that can be productive, but he should be thinking about his future. Why would Brett Favre say he want's Randy Moss to play with him, when he doesn't even know about his future next season.

Brett Favre had said his future in the NFL depends on his family, which is good because he should be a family men first and a football player second.

If Brett Favre want's to see Randy Moss with the Green Bay Packers, then he's taking a big risk. We all know Randy Moss is not a good leader, he even said himself that he smoke's and he plays when he wants to play.

So Brett Favre should watch what he wish for!!!!!

Idea for the Dallas Cowboys!
Jan 26, 2007 | 3:56PM | report this

Idea for the Dallas Cowboys!

The Dallas Cowboys have been searching for a head coach now, since former head coach Bill Parcells retired. Hiring a head coach has been a problem over the years for the Dallas Cowboys, this team hasn't had success in the playoffs and part of that is the lack of coaching by the Dallas Cowboys.

The Dallas Cowboys hasn't won a playoff game since 1996, Bill Parcells couldn't even fix that problem. So getting good players for the Dallas Cowboys should be a good suggestion for them.

The hiring of a head coach is going to be hard for them even more since they have wide receiver Terrell Owens on there team. Texas Tech coach Bob Knight even said he wouldn't want to coach a player like Terrell Owens, and I don't blame him.

There should be a lot on Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones on this one as well, because he didn't really do a good job with that position in the past couple years, besides hiring Bill Parcells. So Jerry Jones needs to step it up.

We all know Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith is the most under paid coach in the NFL, if the Chicago Bears loss the Super Bowl and the Bears don't offer him a better deal you should except Lovie Smith to look around, and that's when the Dallas Cowboys should be all over him.

Lovie Smith has done a good job with the Chicago Bears in the last two season there should be no excuse on how this coach is the most under paid coach in the NFL. If the Chicago Bears don't offer him a better contract there's a good chance that Lovie Smith will be looking for more money. Jerry Jones has always said he will like Lovie Smith as a head coach.

Houston Texans ready for next NFL Draft!
Jan 25, 2007 | 11:37AM | report this

Houston Texans ready for next NFL Draft!

In the 2006 NFL drafts a lot of people though the Houston Texans made a bad move by takings defensive end Mario Williams with the first pick in the draft. With former USC running back Reggie Bush available for the Houston Texans to take, a lot of people were excepting Reggie Bush to be the number one draft pick in the 2006 draft after his junior year at USC.

When the season began, number one draft pick Mario William wasn't a big impact on the Houston Texans season. Mario Williams had trouble making plays for the defense, and then thats when people started to say Reggie Bush should have been there pick instead of Mario Williams.

After the season Reggie Bush had with the New Orleans Saints, it was clear that taking Mario William with the first pick was a mistake. To make sure that doesn't happen again the Houston Texans are looking to recover after there poor performance in the 2006 NFL draft.

The Houston Texans had a bad season going 6-10 and to change that, the Houston Texans are looking at Oklahoma Sooners running back Adrian Peterson.

If the Houston Texans can get Adrian Peterson in the 2007 NFL draft, it will be a huge turn around for them and that will be a sign to except a lot of change from them in the near future.

I know Adrian Peterson got injuried and a lot of people don't know how is he going to recover from that, but I heard he's doing good and with a player like that, it can build confidence for the whole team.

The Houston Texan are also looking to get Denver Broncos quarterback Jake Plummer if he get's cut from the Denver Broncos, but after the season he had the Houston Texans should be carefull with him!

Bill Parcells retiring!

Bill Parcells retiring!

Former Dallas Cowboys head coach Bill Parcells has made up his mind about his future in Dallas, and he desided to retire after 3 seasons as the Dallas Cowboys head coach. Bill Parcells has always been a good coach, but with the Dallas Cowboys, he under achieved. A lot of people expected the Dallas Cowboys to be a serious threat in the playoffs when they hired Bill Parcells, but the Cowboys never made it pass the first round of the playoffs with Bill Parcells as there head coach.

It's sad to see Bill Parcells leave like this, I though he was going to comeback for another season as the Dallas Cowboys head coach. After lossing a tough game to the Seattle Seahawks, and the way that game ended was the worst lost Bill Parcells have ever had as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

Photo

Even if Bill Parcells under achieved as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys he's still a good coach. This guy is know for turning teams around that needs help, and for the most part he had success doing that.

Since Bill Parcells left, now it's time for the Dallas Cowboys as a team to find out who is going to be there coach next season. Which is going to be hard, because of the players they have on there team.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrell Owens had problems in the past with coaches, so the Dallas Cowboys front office needs to keep that in mind!

Michael Vick not a good role model!
Jan 20, 2007 | 9:03AM | report this

Michael Vick not a good role model!

Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has been the most entertaining player to watch in the NFL. His speed, his leadership has been useful to his team in successful season. Michael Vick means a lot to his team, because without him alot of players start to loss confadents in themselfs and the team.

With Michael Vicks talent and style of play brings alot to the game, it sells tickets. It also makes him a role model to kids across the country, because they want to be just like him.

Michael Vick recently was stop at the Airport, and a water bottle that was owned by Michael Vick smelled like marijuana according to the police.  Nobody proven that Michael Vick used marijuana.

Now this is the reason why Michael Vicks role model days maybe over. If you want to be the best in the game, and be a good athlete, using marijuana is not going to help you become that.

I know, nobody is sure that Michael Vick used marijuana but I think he was using it. If something smells like marijuana, then that's what it is because marijuana smells like marijuana.

The last couple of season things haven't been good for Michael Vick. He flicked the bird to his own fan's in Atlanta, he hasn't had a successful season in two years and now this happens.

Michael Vick has two children, and a brother that sometimes acts like a child. Am pretty sure he's role models to them also, so this can't be happening. Michael Vick needs to turn it around, because people are already questioning his future in Atlanta.

Ken Whisenhunt should be in Pittsburgh!

Ken Whisenhunt should be in Pittsburgh!

The Arizona Cardinals went through a nightmare, on how there team played this season. The Cardinals did a good job in last years NFL draft, and they did a decent job in the off-season also. The biggest deal was the one for running back Edgerrin James, which could help out the offense next season with the coach that they have now.

The Arizona Cardinals did a good job firing former head coach Dennis Green, this was a coach that didn't bring success to this team and probably would have never did.

TEMPE, AZ - JANUARY 16: Ken Whisenhunt speaks at a news conference after being introduced as the new head coach of the Arizona Cardinals January 16, 2007 at Cardinals Training Facility in Tempe, Arizona. (Photo by Nick Doan/Getty Images)

Arizona Cardinals hired former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinater Ken Whisenhunt as there new head coach, which is good for the Cardinals, but for Ken Whisenhunt what was he thinking?

It makes sence for him to go to Arizona, but staying in Pittsburgh would have been great. If Ken Whisenhunt would have been the head coach for the Pittsburgh Steelers, he could have gotten this team a lot of success because he already knows the team, he worked the offense before and he has a good relationship with the players.

Going to Arizona, it's good because the Cardinals have a decent offense for Ken Whisenhunt to work with. Edgerrin James was complaining about how many times he gotten the ball last season, but now we shouldn't here that from him since Ken Whisenhunt is the head coach and when he was in Pittsburgh the only thing he did was run the football.

Ken Whisenhunt did a good job picking the Arizona Cardinals, but if he stayed in Pittsburgh things would be great for him!

Dennis Green to the Raiders?...What!
Jan 17, 2007 | 1:02PM | report this

Dennis Green to the Raiders?... What!

The Oakland Raiders probably had the worst season any football can have when there's no excuse. Team chemistry was horrible for the Oakland Raiders, and everybody on that team was looking to loss because they didn't have any confadents in themselfs.

I already said that firing former head coach Art Shell was a mistake, because you can't give the man only one season to turn that team around it's going to take a couple of seasons to see some big improvement. Art Shell didn't have alot of good players to work with on that team, so he had to work with what he had.

Instead of firing Art Shell, the Oakland Raiders should trade wide receiver Randy Moss because he is not a good captain. I don't think Randy Moss gives a 100% on the field sometimes and that's sad because he has alot of talent.

According to a source on espn, the Oakland Raiders are considering to look at former Arizona Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, but Dennis Green doesn't want to interview for that job.

The Oakland Raiders should be happy that Dennis Green doesn't want that job, because that would have been another mistake that the Oakland Raiders would have made.

Hiring Dennis Green wouldn't help the Oakland Raiders, this coach isn't successful a lot. What should happen is the Raiders need to rebuild, don't just get players, get players that have confadents in themselfs and the team.

Dennis Green also did himself a favor by not taking that job, because after he gets fired by the Oakland Raiders, he would be in big trouble!!!

Marty Schottenheimer should leave or be force to
Jan 16, 2007 | 1:47PM | report this

Marty Schottenheimer should leave or be force to

Surprisingly, the San Diego Chargers lost to the New England Patriots 24-21. Even though the New England Patriots played a shakey game, with quarterback Tom Brady throwing 3 picks the most he has through in a postseason game. The New England Patriots still managed to beat the San Diego Chargers.

It really hurts when your the San Diego Chargers and you loss to a team that you was surpost to beat, and the Chargers have no excuses.

The biggest reason why the San Diego Chargers lost is because of the horrible job by the coaching. San Diego Chargers head coach Marty Schottenheimer has not won a playoff game since 1993, and with the team that he had this year, he still couldn't get the job done.

He have's the best runningback in the league(LaDainian Tomlinson), and he only gets 8 tounches in the second half. There's something wrong with that!

Marty Schottenheimer had his chances and it's time for him to go. You can say he was a go coach in the season, but the post season is where he needs to improve.

The San Diego Chargers are a team that has superbowl talent, but with the coach that they have they might not make it there ever. To have a coach that coaches good in the season, but gets scared in the playoffs is not going to help your team one bit.

The front office of the San Diego Chargers need to look for a new coach, if they want new things to happen in the playoffs.

Brian Billick on the Hot Seat?
Jan 14, 2007 | 11:05AM | report this

Brain Billick on the Hot Seat?

Baltimore Ravens head coach Brian Billick did a good job this season, and how he took over the offensive plays for his team. The help from quarterback Steve McNair was good for the Baltimore Ravens, and that was helpful for them to get in the playoffs.

The Baltimore Ravens lost a surprising game to the Indianapolis Colts 15-6. The Indianapolis Colts were the underdogs going into that game and they came out with a victory that might sill there superbowl run, but with this lost is head coach Brian Billick on the hot seat.

BALTIMORE - JANUARY 13: Head coach Brian Billick of the Baltimore Ravens watched from the sidelines as the Ravens lost to the Indianapolis Colts 15-6 during their AFC Divisional Playoff game on January 13, 2007 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. (Photo by Doug Pensinger/Getty Images)

Brian Billick was on the hot seat a season ago, but with the move to get quarterback Steve McNair save his job. With the way Steve McNair played, it provided confadents for this team.

Brian Billick did step up his coaching this season also, but with the way they played in the playoffs were horrible, and so was the coaching.

Now I don't think Brian Billick is going to be fired this season, but if the same think happens next season he will be. But you have to tip your hat off to him and the team, because they lived up to there ability.
