Sports has taken a fall, and I felt my voice was needed. Writing this book, helps everyone understand what sports really is. It shouldn't be about issues, performance enhancing drugs, and athletes getting into trouble. Sports should be about competition, and not about personal problems. There also many people that have thoughts, and opinions about topics. I voiced my opinion about it, and there all negative topics. That means sports has failed.
Failing in three playoff appearances brought rumors of New York Yankees Manager Joe Torre being fired. He hasn't impressed many, and can't find success.
This was expected; firing Torre has been the idea for a while, nothing changed.
"I don't feel good about it," closer Mariano Rivera said. "I don't see why they're even thinking (about letting Torre go). I wish he's back, definitely. If you ask me what I would want, I want him back." He doesn't bring success, and almost failed in the regular season. It's time for a change.
Torre is finished, and needs to retire. He lost energy, and doesn't provide victories in the playoffs.
"It might do a lot of it," Rivera said. "I mean, I've been with Joe for so many years, and the kind of person he has been for me and for my teammates, it's been great. The thing is that I don't see why they have to put him in this position." Is Rivera crazy? Torre has failed this season, and the last 2 as well. The Yankees need a change, and another manager will help.
Torre's memories should remain, because it helped the Yankees. He did a lot, but that's the past. The present is here, and Torre can't win. He struggles in the post-season, and doesn't have energy.
"I'm an optimist, so hopefully nothing happens and he stays here," Rivera said. He shouldn't stay, he needs to leave.
A consistent and experienced winner will help the Yank's.
Joe Girardi will be great. He's young, and knowledgeable about the Yankees. Girardi could make a difference as the manager.
Don Mattingly is another possibility, because his experience with the Yank's. He's helped them, and could manage them as well. "Obviously the biggest challenge for Donnie's going to be the media," Yankees hitting coach Kevin Long said. "He's as knowledgeable a baseball man as I've ever been around. But the media challenge is still there. Nobody knows how he's going to deal with that. I don't even think he knows how he's going to deal with that. That's the biggest challenge." He knows what's coming, because he's been with the Yankees. Mattingly knows what to expect.
Tony La Russa is another name, it should be expected. "I don't know what Tony's going to do," Duncan said. "Right now the Cardinals are a mess. They don't have a GM. I just really try to stay away from the rumors with Tony and my dad." La Russa managing the Yankees could work, but he'll break down. He can't handle the media pressure, and it will "kill" him.
Torre's love shouldn't end, but its business. "I love Joe. Joe's unbelievable," said Duncan. "Everybody on this team will tell you the same thing. He really cares about us as people." That's understandable, it shouldn't change. Torre has done a lot for the players, but it’s all about winning. A manager shouldn't stay if he doesn't win.

The San Francisco Giants were happy to resign Barry Bonds, and to see him return to try and break the all-time home run leader Hank Aaron record. But there thoughts about about Barry Bonds change when he tested positive for a banned substance a season ago and the San Francisco Giants front office didn't know about it until a month ago.
There was questions about the San Francisco Gaints changing there mind about signing left fieder Barry Bonds, which I can understand because who wants to sign a player that used something against the rule's, and then lie about getting it from a teammate of his.
Well the San Franciso Giants sign Barry Bonds to a 15 million dollar deal that have same strong language in it. In the contract Barry Bonds is not allowed to bring his trainer anywhere near the locker room, and thats something I understand also. But because of that Major League Baseball rejected the contract.
Barry Bonds tested positive for a banned substance last season, and nobody knows who gave it to him so that's why it make's since to keep his trainer out of the locker room. We all know what was going on with Barry Bonds former trainer Greg Anderson. The San Francisco Giants want to win, not answer questions about Barry Bonds and steroids after every game.
The San Francisco Giant Barry Bonds tested positive for amphetamine last season which everybody didn't know about until a couple of days ago. Which makes this whole thing something real big for Barry Bonds contract that he didn't sign yet with the San Francisco Giants.
I can understand that the San Francisco Giants are upset alittle, because they didn't find out that Barry Bonds tested positive for amphetamine. But now, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, they knew Barry Bonds tested positive for amphetamines, and Barry Bonds tried to blame Mark Sweeney ever since!, busted again
So how was this all going on with out the San Francisco Giants front office not knowing a thing.
If the San Francisco Giants don't want to sign Barry Bonds, because of his failed test I don't blame them. But it will be a miss if they don't.
Now do people want to see Barry Bonds break the late great Hank Aarons record after all of this. I don't!
I still think Barry Bonds will be playing for the San Francisco Giants next season, and Mark Sweeney has reported and said he's looking forward of talking to Barry Bonds in spring trainning.
Am pretty sure everybody has heard the Daily News reports that San Francisco Gaint Barry Bonds had tested positive for amphetamine last season. According to Barry Bonds he had gotten them from a teammate of his Mark Sweeney, in my opioion which is a lame lie!, but Barry has said that he gotten the amphetamines from Mark Sweeney.
The reason why I think it's a lie, is because if Barry Bonds tested positive for amphetamine, how come Mark Sweeney didn't. Who in the world will keep a banned substance in there locker just hanging around like that also.
And it doesn't matter where he got it from, what matters is from what we heard Barry Bonds got court with it in his body, and that's a problem for him because of what he had to deal with in his career.
Am tried of this, all these steriod taking baseball players need to come clean and amitt what they did was wrong! because there are the reason why baseball has a bad name, and there not helping it get any better!
If you dont' know, now you know. For what am hearing former Baltimore Orioles superstar Rafael Palmeiro is looking to make a comeback to the MLB, which is surprising after how he left the game.
Rafael Palmeiro is 42 years of age, and he hasn't played baseball in the Major Leagues in a year. The question is does any team want to take a chances on him. If your a team that's going to take that chance, then expect a lot of media around.
When your a team thats going to bring in a player that tested positive for performance enhancing drugs, and he lied and said that he never used it, and when he got busted everybody turned on him, ticket sails are probably going down for that team.
For Rafael Palmeiro to make a comeback is very brave of him. Am pretty sure he knows what to expected from the media and the fans, he's not going to be happy!
It will be hard for Rafael Palmeiro to get back on point, number one if he used steriods then he's going to have to get the feeling with out them in his body, number two the fans are not going to be happy with him in the league, and number three he hasn't played in the Major Leagues in a year!

The New York Yankees are having a good off-season some what. With the signing of former Houston Astros pitcher Andy Pettitte, and resigning of Mike Mussina that makes the New York Yankees pitching staff decent.
There's been some talk about the New York Yankees making a offer for former Houston Astros pitcher Roger Clemens, now that will be good for the New York Yankees but they shouldn't move away from looking at good young pitchers.
If the New York Yankees are going to make an offer for Roger Clemens it might be hard, acording to MLB radio host Seth Everett Roger Clemens doesn't really want to play the whole season and the New York Yankees wants him to.
If that become's a big problem then watch out for the Boston Red Sox because there willing to do what ever it takes to get Roger Clemens.
If the Boston Red Sox get Roger Clemens it will make alot of since, because they have question marks at the pitching position. Jonathan Papelbon this will be his first season as a starter, age facter with Curt Schilling, and new comer Daisuke Matsuzaka hisn't pitch in the major league. So there is a lot of questions for the Boston Red Sox.
If the New York Yankees were to get Roger Clemens it will be good, but they still need to look for young talent, because Andy Pettitte is getting a little old he's 34 and Roger Clemens doesn't even know if he is even going to pitch in two seasons from now, so age is a factor for the New York Yankees with the pitching staff!

I know, the Redskins need defense, but the offense hasn’t been going also. Washington Redskin coach Joe Gibbs might be on the hot seat if this season doesn’t work out, because it looks like the coach might be the problem. When you have a good offense with running back Clinton Portis and WR Brandon Floyd and Antoine Randle EL also Santana Moss, and your team is still probably one of the worst in there division, it might be time to point fingers.

Lets face it the Cincinnati Reds will win the National League Wild Card race, because the Reds stayed consistent through out the season. The Cincinnati Reds are 61-57 and second in the National League Central, the Cincinnati Reds are a team that's been playing for the wild card the whole season, because there not going head to head with the St. Louis Cardinals. No way!
The National League Central Division is a hard division, because you have three teams to play against, you have the Cincinnati Reds, St. Louis Cardinals, and the Houston Astro, but I already wrote about the Houston Astro and how I feel about them on my website at www.fanofsports.blogspot.com , but if your a good team and your playing in that Division your going to have to work. For the Cincinnati Reds to be in second place in that division is good for them.
The National League Wild Card is hard to get on top of also, because there are teams that have to fight to take the lead and there six of them. You have the Cincinnati Reds that lead the National League Wild Card, the San Diego Padres are a half game out of the lead, the Arizona Diamondbacks are 1 and half game out of the lead, you got the Colorado Rockies which is not going to the playoffs, but there only 3 and a half games out of the lead, the Houston Astro can forget about it, but there also 3 and a half games out from the top, and the team with bad pitching, the Philadelphia Phillies are 4 games out. So the National League Wild Card race is a fight to the top, but the Cincinnati Reds will win it.
Even though the Cincinnati Reds are 1 and a half game out of the lead for the National League Central Division, there still not going to win it. The St. Louis Cardinals are a good team that have's no weakness, but maybe the pitching, but whatever there still winning games, and with the team that they have there not going to slip out of the lead in there division and take the wild card. Early in the season the Cincinnati Reds had a chance to take the lead in the National League Central division, when the St. Louis Cardinal first basemen Albert Pujols was place on the 15 day D.L., but the Cincinnati Reds didn't come through, and it was great for the St. Louis Cardinal to because they showed people that they can win without Albert Pujols, and that's important.
One of the reasons why the Cincinnati Reds will win the National League wild card is because of there line up, and they knows how to hit home runs, they combined for 170 of the year. The only problem for the Cincinnati Reds line up is the batting avg, because it's .264, but everything is fine other then that.
If you take a look at my other blog, you can see that I have the New York Mets going to the World Series, but the Los Angeles Dodgers? I don't know about them going to the World Series this season. The New York Mets will go to the World Series, well it's easy for me to say that, because am a New Yorker, but it's the truth.

Jeff Kent, also Nomar Garciaparra came back to. The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking good, but they won't be looking good if they went up against the New York Mets!

We all know the New York Mets are the best team in the National League. I mean just look at them, there only weakness is there pitching, but they still win games with that problem. Well the National League is a little weak, but thats not the reason why the New York Mets are winning neither, it's because of there styles of play, and how they look at the game of baseball.
The only people that will disagree with me are the Yankees fans, but I got love for the New York Yankees, well maybe! Am going to be real with you, I don't want the New York Yankees in the playoffs, I will like the Pittsburgh Pirates to get in the playoffs before the New York Yankees!, but back to the New York Mets. The only team that can stop the New York Mets is the New York Mets, because there is no team in the National League that can stop them, end of story
As we all know the Chicago White Sox have been playing like the Kansas City Royals in the second half of the season, this team just can't get on the right track for some reason, but I know one thing this team better start winning some games or the Chicago White Sox will be on the outside looking in. The Chicago White Sox lost a lot of confidents also, because they starting to make a lot of mistake, there not as focus like they were early in the season or like lasted year when they was just winning a lot of games.
The reason why the Chicago White Sox are not playing good baseball is because of the pitching problems there having. If you look, there pitchers are starting to wear down, Jose Contreras was on a 17 game winning streak and he probably was going to get the Cy Young award, but now he just fell apart. Jose Contreras losted 4 of his last 5 games, and early in the season he lead the League in ERA, now he isn't top 5. Jose Contreras is going to pitch against the Detroit Tigers next, will see how he pitches!
Another reason why the Chicago White Sox have been playing like this is because of there star player in the line up, Jim Thome. In the last 7 games Jim Thome has 1 home run, and 3 RBl's. He needs to play a little better than what we see from him now.
Chicago White Sox pitcher Mark Buehrle has been struggle, he isn't focus like he was in the beginning of the season. Mark Buehrle hasn't won a game since June 27, that's more then a mouth ago. His ERA is worst then what it was in the beginning of the season, he have's to get his mind in the game or it's going to be a long 2nd half of the season.
The Chicago White Sox played the way the Chicago Cubs fans will like them to play last night. Against the Angels last night, the White Sox played bad. The Los Angeles Angels beat the Chicago White Sox 6-3, in the 4th inning the Los Angeles Angels best player Vladimir Guerrero hit his 24th home run off of Mark Buehrle, and the Angels were just all over the Chicago White Sox. Well that is not surprising because the Chicago White Sox are 1-9 against the Los Angeles Angels this year.
The Chicago White Sox need to get it together, because in the last 10 home games the White Sox won 2, and the last 16 games they only won 3.
Jackie Robinson is the best African-American baseball player to ever live, because of what he did for the game of baseball. If it wasn't for Jackie not a lot of African-American will be playing the game of baseball now. Jackie Roosevelt Robinson was born in January 31, 1919 in Cairo, Georgia, growing up playing baseball.
April 15, 1947 is when Jackie Robinson made his debut in the Major League, by breaking the color barrier. He had a #### League style of play and he brought that style of play to the Major League. Jackie Robinson played for the Kansas City Monarchs in 1945 (####- League), and the one that we all know about is the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949.
Not a lot of people know, but Jackie Robinson was the first athlete in UCLA history to play Baseball, football, Track, and Basketball in the same year. Now that is a athlete!
Jackie Robinson won the National League MVP in 1949, so he was very valuable to his team, 1947 is when Jackie Robinson won the Rookie of the Year. 6, that was the number of times Jackie played in the All-Star game, so Jackie was everywhere!
We all know that Jackie Robinson was the best to steal home plates, because he did it 19 times. Jackie was the type to beat you on the base path, he had a very good batting avg. 342, and he had 37 steals.
So Jackie Robinson had a dream, and that was to play in the Major leagues and he didn't care who told him he can't play, because of the color of his skin. There's one thing do, the #### League sold more tickets then the Major League, so that was a big accomplishment, but there is one thing though, there shouldn't of been a #### League in the first place, because the reason why is the Major league wouldn't let African-Americans play in the Majors, so they started there own league!

As we know Carlos Lee was traded to the Texas Rangers in a six player trade, that was a good move by the Texas Rangers, because now the Rangers put a lot of presure on the Oakland A's. Now Alfonso Soriano is left so where will he go? Where ever Alfonso go's he will help that team, because he's valuable he has 32 home run's, and he is top 5 in the National League in RBI's.
The Chicago White Sox don't need Alfonso Soriano, the White Sox have 4 players in there line up that have 20 plus home runs. The only reason why the Chicago White Sox want Alfonso Soriano, is so the Detriot Tiger's or the New York Yankees won't get him. What the White Sox sould be trying to do is to get some pitching help , this team had good pitching in the beggining of the season, but in the 2nd half of the season there pitching is starting to wear out.
It was a good move for the Chicago White Sox to keep pitcher Brandon McCarthy, because I'm sure you know that the White Sox were going to trade him for Alfonso Soriano, but they didn't. Keeping Brandon McCarthy was a good move because the White Sox need pitching help. So for them to trade a pitcher would have been bad.
