yep this what i do one of my gigs???   I think ive said this before on other blogs..but yes im the PA announcer for a university just down the road from the university of oregon, a private university ...been around for years...anyway this is my fourth year...until this year i had a student helping me or vis versa....2 basketball games  womans and men following....he would announce  one and i would the other... now with him gone....i do both...yes in the past couple id do both games if?? he couldnt be there....and now im the guy.....,i also do the volleyball.....yes ive got lots experience in announcing  DJing and sportscasting...but this gig came along 4 years ago and im glad it did....im not your average boring PA guy but?? i do give credit when they the vistors dop something good...i call teh jerk??? who trys to put attention on HIM??? as the PA announcer and not the teams??? see i said TEAMS????  i know o####uy locally who does PA for a high school and every time he says their name??? WOLLVEREEEEEEEEEENS   see in my book thats ####  showing non sportsmanship ??what about the other team????  they are just as welcome on the floor as we ARE so why not recogonize something they do???? the oregon state beavers havea guy who does the PA for them and when they played oregon and we went to the game you would have never known who they OSU was playing???? every time oregon gota first down??  barely heard him bUT?? when the beavers did some thing a CHAINSAW was heard???  aka beavers.... BS....but like anything???  we all have a way of doing things i choose to give credit for both teams and have fun........as i said i get to the games example friday  ill get there at around 3:30 to help set things up....then go over my notes,,,  announcin g who we play next road or home games???? and promo our website and promo our sponsers....at halftime i go over the stats  for the crowd......then  with about 6 minuets before the start.... GOOD EVENING BASKETBALL FANS AND WELCOME...................................its fun to do something you love even though its hard work.........

if you have ever been a coach im sure this story is familiar????      currently i know a team right now that is struggling....so much other teams look at them as patsys???? at a team meeting their coach talked about this....and hopfully this might work....with 8 home games remaining and lots of road games left maybe this will be the turning point ?????  why i would never coach at any level....i take my hat off to any coach!!!!!!!  the team im talkingb about has great players  but ???  i have seen this before with men and woman teams you get used to losing.....you need a couple  of wins to regain your belive in winning.....
