university of oregon football coach mike bellotti said once about the civil war pitting the university of oregon ducks vs the oregon state beavers..... your either a duck or a beaver.... i knew a guy whos brother would root for the ducks in football and then turn around and root for the beavers in basketball???? now lets look at this shall we??? in the those years yes the ducks were better in football now example??? he only rooted for the winners..... ducks winners in football, beavers winners in basketball....... me ive been an oregon rooter for as long as i can remember... didnt matter the win, loss record ooomy i recall the seasons when oregon football ended season after season with a record of 2 wins and 9 losses.... did i quit rooting for them hell no im a fan..... in this day and age we call them BANDWAGON JUMPERS... these are the fans who only root for the winning programs... can you see there wardrobes you know the sweatshirts you buy with the logos on them??? these guys must have USC, UCLA, OREGON , OSU????? etc etc ... just cant be loyal to one school.... jump and jump from one university to the next!!!!! and we have seen those fans , you know the ones who have children who go to both the rival schools???   they have a sweatshirt with one side the colors of one school and on the other side the other colors
!!!!!!   but i think thats where college sports are more exciting than pro sports.... take in basketball  when a players shoots an air ball????  when do you hear the crowd yell AIRBALL!!!!!!!   none or not when im viewing a pro game......another prime example here in eugene,oregon  (DUCKS)  we see lots of oregon state colors in this city all the time orange and black....  ducks  green and yellow....  now  dont you dare!!!!!!  wear  green and yellow up in corvallis oregon  home to the beavers  or willl you get a blank stare!!!!!!    example  i dated a lady some years ago who lived in corvallis,,,,,   i had a air freshener  hanging from my mirror in side the car it OOOPS was yellow.. and the guy driving behind me ....  driving your basic orange and black VW  just  stared at me like how dare your  show us that ungodly thing!!!!!!!!    BUT AGAIN here in eugene  you see  bumper stickers...  shirts  hats  all over town with  UGGGGGG  orange and black....  i guess it shows that eugene,oregon is a much bigger town than corvallis  so we dont get so antsy like they do!!!!!!
