The COT CANNOT be denied, by air or land. (It's yet to be tested on sea.) ....but what about the tires? Michael McDowell's backup car was, obviously, not as fast as his primary. (It's the tires.)  I do not believe that this has anything to do with the cars. (it's the tires.) I must point out that this seems to re-enforce Tony Stewart's claims that there are tire problems. Think about it, or if your from Canada, think aboot it- McDowell rolled like a freight train, as he skillfully kept the tires off the track, (tires are for landing which he used after  the appropriate amount of flips)but when forced to keep all four on the track, he eked out a mere 33rd. (Which also  re-enforces the fact that flying is faster than driving.)

To Quote the Mac Daddy of all Mac Daddies: We kid because we care.

To Quote me: The more I love you, the more I tease.

Now to ashamed- It is a sad day when Yates Racing has to advertise and 10 mega-teams of 4 are openly foretold. I am trying to help on the Yates thing, but I don't know if I an sink any fish. Any of you who are are know a business owner, think of the history. It is no longer a one sponsor car, do not think that just because you're small you can't sponsor. Yes, they would love a full time major sponsor, but that doesn't mean they won't be just as good with your logo, even if it is only for one race. TO SPONSOR YATES VISIT http://sponsoryates.com/

Anyone who wants to join me in my toast visit the site.

I know I haven't been able to do a lot here, but I am disappointed that none of you have joined the fantasy league. I tried to make it a public league. but it wouldn't let me. If anyone wants to join, I am collecting things for a prize package. I will be in the league, but my standing will not count. Anyone who joins after the first segment will not be eligible for any prizes or team member status. League name is: WFO RAICNG FANS    Password is: COToyJr

Also, remember to join Cindi's club and send me your links. I haven't heard anything from Tony's camp about the fan club's "Thank You", but will have pics of the framed pic and card up soon.

Why I Haven't Said "Cindi"
Mar 14, 2008 | 10:06AM | report this

I hope I have not offended or upset anyone by not mentioning Southern Cindi. The past 8 months have been very hard for me, thus my abscence from all of my media projects and duties. Cindi passed just before I had my last surgery, and others felt I should not be informed until I was heathy enough to deal with it. Since I was told, I have not cried yet, which I know means I am in denial. It is time for me to, as Cindi would put it, take the good and go on.

Many of you know that my website has the "Official Southern Cindi Fan Club", but few know that Cindi was the best friend I had. She was the only person who I could talk to about anything. (and not worry about it ending up in the Enquirer":) I know many felt this same link to Cindi and that is what made her special.

Although I am still limited to the amount of time I can work on the site, I plan to add a feature to Cindi's fan page called "My Cindi". It will feature links to blogs about Cindi, your comments, and photos of Cindi or Cindi with you. If you have any Cindi pics you wish to let us post, a link you want put up, or just want to post a comment, e-m me at cindifan@seeing20twenty.com

Those who wish to join the fan club, please let me know what name you want listed on the club page. When I started this fan club I told Cindi that as long as I had a web site there would always be an "Official Southern Cindi Fan Club", I plan to keep this promise. Anything that gets posted will always remain.

I do plan to make membership cards soon, but as I have limited funding, please be patient.

Most of the site has not been updated since last year, but to see Cindi's page as of then click here.

If you have any questions e-m me, leave a comment, or go to the site and use our contact form.

I have been getting my e-m's and snail-mail, thanks. I hope you don't think me ungrateful, for I am far from it. It just seems one thing has happened as soon as one thing seems cured. I will try to get on the site and at least post something. Please be patient,

P.S. Contrary to what the paps want you to believe, I am not in re-hab nor have I been in re-hab with any of many stars they have attempted to tie me to.

The End Is Near...
Jun 16, 2007 | 8:45PM | report this

I'm beginning tp believe those guys with the cardboard signs. All the changes have to mean something. The change in the chase? The "COT"? Michael Waltrip not qualifying? Jr. leaving DEI? Jr. becoming team mates with Gordo? Folks, this is not "silly season" anymore, (sorry Jay) this is serious! The world as we know it is coming to an end. Can we, as survivors, make the new world a better one? Or are we just stuck with what they give us?

When it comes to the "COT", I must say I was pleasently surprised. I expected a lot more problems and a lot less racing. What I found was exactly the opposite. The races were exciting, and very, very few got knocked out because of the cars added features. I did, however, miss getting to see the open wheel, almost Sprint Car style towards the end of the Bristol race. These cars stay together too good! If that doesn't prove it's safty and durability, I don't know what will.

Everyone knows my thoughts on Mikey, and it looks like he may be headed in that direction. Let's see if he can be an owner.

What will become of the Jr. fans? Jr. has betrayed the very byline of the club- HATE HENDRICKS! Maybe he is a little smarter than I gave him credit for, that or he has a bigger pair than I thought. He said he wanted to prove to himself that he was either a champ or a chump, his choice only proves that he's willing to face the truth, either way. I have said since the beginning that Jr. has finally grown up, well this proves it. He's putting it all out there and he will either fail or suceed. At least he's man enough to admit this is a test and I'll take the grade, bad or good. I think Sr. is very proud.

This is a goldmine for Hendricks and Gordon. It can only be good. How can you hate your man's teammate? Jr. may lose a few over this, not all are team players because of the driver. Those he does lose, though, I'm sure will not even leave a scratch on the body of the Jr. Nation. (I still don't get those who claim to be such die hard fans of Jr. and Sr., yet they have no clue about all the ties between the three. If you claim to be a fan, at least know what you're talking about.)

The bombs are exploding all around us. In the "off season" as we dig out of the rubble, I only hope that we can rebuild this sport. We have to get back those we lost to all the changes. The world will change, so I guess NASCAR must to.

P.S. The #8 does belong to DEI, so Jr. must find a way to buy it, or he'll be in another number.

Don't Bug the "Junebug"
May 12, 2007 | 7:24PM | report this

This weekend the slender note pads used on scene, sit lifeless on my desk. I can honestly say that this weekend is one better sat out. With all the hoopla surrounding Jr. and anyone remotely involved, this week has become a major media circus. (Seeing how the circus will be on tour for quite some time, I am in no hurry to join, and will catch a performance later.) Not that I wouldn’t love to be at the race, but with the already tight quarters, (and this weeks world-wide attention) I am content to stretch out here and not get run over in the pursuit of a story that is really “old” news with no “new” news.

Without fear of “leaking” accusations, I can safely say that Jr. is somewhere wondering why you idiots continue to ask the same questions over and over and over…!!! Those who cover Jr. year round (not just in the heat of a moment) have been assured, by Jr. and camp, that this decision will not be made in haste and will be announced as soon as it is made. (He and they kept this promise at least 12-24hrs. ahead of the press conference, so there’s no reason to believe otherwise.) So we sit back, and watch as the media “NASCAR Whackers” show how little they truly know about Jr. and about our sport. Not to mention the "fan whackers" who claim to be true fans, but don't know some of the most widely known facts. You may have caught one of these idiots on TV, you know, the one that threw one of those cans "in the name of Earnhardt". (P.S. "####" is only made a bad word when used by the "media" to describe an ####, most of us are proud to be called "####", and find the generalizations offensive. We have worked hard to have the right to "go ####" on someone, and, though we may sometimes fail in the heat of the moment, we try not to abuse this right by at least knowing the facts before we throw something at you. Please do not use "####" to describe "####". It only degrades #### and confuses the rest of the idiots.)

You don’t have to be an insider to really know what the true possibilities are. All you really need is knowledge of Jr. and our sport, and what the two really are about, and enough brains to factor the knowledge logically. This is not hard for the real NASCAR fans, but the attention it has attracted brings the idiots out and the media "NASCAR whackers" will continue to use them to make us all look like idiots. Deciding the outcome may be a little trickier, even with all the facts, we can only provide our own wish list. What may be considered the most popular decision, may not necessarily be the best; and what may seem to be the sweetest deal may not be the best for stricktly personal reasons. Another thing, just because there's bread in the oven, doesn't guarantee it will rise, and, even when baked, bread can grow moldy if not properly stored.

Jr. is not going to sign for money alone. Logic, people, money is not a problem for Jr. He could retire now and continue to pull millions from a wide variety of sources. His investments, enterprises, and companies could be named a “diversification program” of their own. So throw the paycheck out the window. What does that leave? The real deal, the perks and the pleasure.

Jr. is not going to leave one “unhappy place” to join another. He has realized that being happy and being good do affect each other. If you are performing good, you feel happy, and if you’re not happy, you don’t perform as well. (Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule.) Jr. wants to enjoy racing again, so he can feel good about putting his whole heart into the passion to win. He let this mess at DEI get in his head, and it has shown in his performance. He wants it to be a passion not a job.

Look for a new Jr., one with the spark that captured our eyes in the beginning. This break from DEI will finally take the pressure off. (Somewhat ironic, huh?) My boredom with Jr., and Jr.’s own boredom, is now replaced with a sense of pride. Jr. has shown that he is his own man, no longer considered dependant on a name or a company name, and confident in his own ability to be a champion. Jr. no longer hides from the image, he has grown up and now knows he only hid from his own fears. Blood is blood, and comparisons will always be made, but Jr. now knows that self-confidence has a lot to do with whether you take it as a hit or as a compliment. Trying to live up to Daddy became a theme, it shouldn’t have been. Now Jr. can concentrate on living up to his own expectations, which, he is realizing, is far more important (and more enjoyable) than living up to others. This is when life really begins for Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Where Jr. lands will depend on Jr.’s happiness and trust (personal and professional), not his pocketbook. Jr. wants multi-championships, and trust that a program has the ability to achieve that will play a huge part in his decision, but he’s not going to sign unless he feels that “fit”. Previous rumors and ties will come into play, but with Kelly and crew behind him, he will find that one puzzle that his pieces just seem to fit in.

Something to ponder:

There are 7,694,332,461 possible scenarios. (That was a Flywheel stat so it could be off by 1 or 2. I’m sure, somewhere, my geek gods are designing the perfect program to come up with the exact number.)

There are 4 viable scenarios.(5 if you’re still hoping he’ll start his own team.)

How high can you count? Bigger numbers does not mean a bigger story, but some find the real story isn’t as exciting as the tales they can create. Beware the fakers, with this much attention, expect a lot more “tabloid” than what we’re used to. Welcome to a first under the big top we call NASCAR, “The 8 ring circus” is a wonder for all to see, step inside, for a wonderful ride, be amazed as most perform without nets, have a good laugh as the clowns entertain us, and stand to applaud the ring master, as he scurries to avoid the spot light (and being run over by the little cars full of clowns).

As the world continues to dump pieces on the table, trying to make the puzzle seem unsolvable (and themselves look like geniuses for giving us 10.000.000 solutions), I will continue to stretch out and enjoy the space. I sit here, close my eyes, and imagine the red Budweiser #3, leading the pack to the checkered flag of the “2008 Daytona 500”, as I toast with Cindi , Lisa, and Steeler from a bottle of the #3 labeled Childress Vineyard’s “Champions” stock, which it just so happens, is red. (Of course this dream becoming reality remains solely upon one thing and one thing only- Will I be able to save enough to buy the wine by February?)

Remember, "Smiles Spread" and, unlike rumors, they never get old or ugly.

Myth Busters: The Wicked Witch Edition
May 12, 2007 | 5:29PM | report this

I really haven’t said much until now, because it really didn’t matter, but now it’s time for Theresa’s side to be justified. Really, there is no need for an explanation, if you know the facts. Those who believe that DEI was built solely by Dale Sr. are sadly mistaken. Theresa has been a driving force behind the business side of the Earnhardt name since they met. She may not come off well with fans, and rarely does she get credit for her part, but I honestly don’t believe there would even be a company or name worth enough to fight over if she had not been there. Sure, Dale would’ve been worth a lot, and the Childress marriage would have assured his success, but DEI was a joint venture pushed into fruition by Theresa’s urging that he needed to build a legacy that would continue to earn and grow, long after he stepped from the car. Yes, Dale wanted this to be Jr.’s legacy as well, but I doubt he would have wanted that at the cost of Theresa and Taylor.

I poke fun at Theresa, but I poke fun at everyone, I am not prejudiced. In reality Theresa comes from racing. She has been called “cold”, “calculating”, and “greedy”, all unfair when the facts are considered. In reality, she is a very smart business woman who is looking out, not only for herself, but for the future of Taylor and the future of the business she helped build. She may not have driven the car, but she drove Dale. He was the talent behind the passion, she was the brains behind the talent. Dale was not stupid, don’t get me wrong, he just wasn’t the best at managing the money/business side of things, a well known fact. He also wasn’t the best at separating that from personal feelings. Theresa became the voice of reason in a world that exploded into something most thought impossible. Theresa’s dreams of how Dale could make money, from a name alone, were ahead of their time, and with Dale, made it possible for drivers to actually make a living and a future for themselves. (Instead of wondering how they would pay the light bill or how much they’d still owe after the foreclosure sale.) Dale’s name made it possible, Theresa’s ideas made it possible, but it took both, focused on the prize, to make it reality. Since Dale’s death, she has gone through many changes, and yes, she has distanced herself as an owner, but how would you have handled it? Could you have dealt with seeing him everywhere? Being expected to be the grieving widow, yet expected to be strong enough to remain in total control? (Then when in control being called a “cold-hearted ####”?) Theresa lost the man she loved to the sport she grew up loving, how does one forgive the sport for the foul? I was only a fan, yet I still break down. I couldn’t even watch the movie “3” until this February. I feel the tears with every flash back or tribute. I can’t imagine being the wife.

Little by little Theresa is coming back. A lot of recent announcements and events have hinted that she will remain a major force in DEI and its future. The Dale Jr. situation was ugly, but in the end, it was handled the only smart way it could be. Dale asking for 51% was a bold move, but not a smart one. (If someone wants to holler “Greedy”, maybe this would be an appropriate time.) If anything, maybe 33%, but Theresa would have looked like an ####, not to mention desperate, to give up the majority. You must keep in mind that half of Theresa’s interest actually needs to be set aside, and considered Taylor’s. (And if ya really wanna pick, what about Kelly and Kerry? Where do they fit? Mute point, but no one said anything about them. Note: Kerry is employed by DEI, Kelly is employed by Jr. I guess they just aren't a good story. I disagree.)

As dirty as everyone made this, it was a clean decision on both sides. Theresa had to protect the future, for herself and for Taylor. Jr. had to take control of his own destiny, one way or the other. In the end I believe this is going to work out better for Jr. than for DEI, but Theresa is not an ####, so, even though I tease, don’t look for the museum expansion, you might just find a few exhibits (old and new) still have life in them.

For a lot more fact and really good links to the facts check out 14falcons article: In Support of Theresa Earnhardt

The Curator Readies the Exhibits
May 11, 2007 | 10:38AM | report this

Tony Stewart said it best, “What is DEI without Jr.? A museum.” Well, it seems, 2008 will be the grand opening. (Although the gift shop has been open for years.) Personally, I don’t see how Theresa could have given in to Jr. without appearing to be a desperate ####. Giving up controlling interest in a company that she, and Taylor, should hold majority in was a move that should have been avoided. To me, a three way split may have worked, but it’s a mute point now. Don’t put up the velvet ropes just yet, though. Lot’s of things at DEI have been changing, and Jr.’s exit may speed a few of those up, but it doesn’t change much more.

For Jr., this is when his life becomes even more of a circus. (As if it wasn’t chaotic enough.) The rumors will fly, including those of offers that may or may not even be on the table. Yes, for Jr., these will be the best of times (he’ll be everywhere) and the worst of times (everyone will be everywhere he is). Its well worth the headache (just pop a B.C. or Goody, check sponsors first) because the payoff will continue far into the future.

Last season I made a comment that pretty much summed up where Jr. was headed. I simply made the statement,”Frankly, I’m getting bored with him.” It hit me as I said it, it was true. He was so/so for sooo long that it was getting sooooo old. This is the shake up Jr. needed to re-energize, not only himself, but his fans as well.

Dale Sr. didn’t win championships with his company, maybe the same is Jr.’s destiny. When the true deal is done, history will be made. (Personally, I’d like to see a red Bud #3 goin’ round the track.) There are many ways this could go, and believe me, his decision may not please everyone, but it will be for a reason. He has good people, namely Kelly, this decision will not be made in haste.

Jr. fans, this is your time, enjoy it! To Jr., you didn’t give up, or give in. Make it fun again. Remember when it was fun? It shouldn’t be a job, it should be a passion. Take back the passion and make it fun again. A toast to Jr., 32’s a good year, full-bodied, yet amusing.

P.S. Think about this- When Jr. walks out those doors, how many will follow? Will Mickey return to save the day? (Okay, that one was just wrong; I think I’m already on probation because of the “robot”, so I guess I’ll have to watch the race with Mickey from the coach.)

For Love Of Southern Cindi And Fox Sports
May 09, 2007 | 7:53PM | report this

If I have done anything to break any rules, I want to apologize. My site makes no money, and I don't care if it ever does! I, unlike most I've encountered, started my site to get attention to what matters- charities, people who matter, sites that encourage free expression, and most of all- to those that write.

I have been blessed to find people who are real, whether I, or anyone else, agree with them is not the point. The point is to get the opinion out there for discussion. If people are offended, it only furthers my cause only if you write. Every opinion counts in changing the way the world thinks. Bad or good, if it causes discussion, it is worthy. Stupidity and bigotry needs to be heard, also, so that, maybe, somehow, something can be learned from the process.

I was able to meet a very special person, Southern Cindi, and, through her, many other special people, at a time where I had given up on the good in people. This site has shown love, not just from the members, but from the beings that rule. I spend all time possible researching blogs, to bring the public the stories that are real, and through Cindi and our Fox Sports family, I have found more than just the story, I have found THE REAL STORY. This messed up bunch of #### called the internet, has a haven, you just have to search for it. My only goal is to make that search easier.

Ask anyone, I am a poor girl who just wants to make others smile. If anything I do or say is offensive or breaks any rules, please let me know, it will cease immediatly.

My pages for Cindi are intentended to make it easier for her and her family to link to all the beautiful tributes that our Fox Blogging Community have made to and for her. She has given her blessing to the "Official Southern Cindi Fan Club" which, like all other pages I create for her, will remain as long as I have a site. I do not discuss with Cindi what is to come, I prefer to live in today, but there will be a time when she will not be able to search for those blogs that she needs to see, and I am only trying to build a place where she can visit to get all the links to everyone who cares.

I will continue to be a proud Fox Sports Blogger, and will continue to try to not sound biased, as I feature bloggers from other sites, but as I tell everyone, I remain true, unlike most in our sport.

I do ask that anyone interested in joining Cindi's Pit Crew, contact  me. I don't care if you ever visit my site, just let me know how Cindi can visit you. I can't list a link for her if I don't know about it.

I also ask that you make me aware of any charity causes, local or nationwide, I am willing to lend space to any good cause.

Again, to Fox Sports, you have proven, it's not just about the numbers, those numbers do count. We may rib you about the count, but when it counted, you came through. "Gabriel", you rule!!

P.S. To all of you have been so supportive during my times of troubles, and to all who have helped build this site on love and true passion, I bow to your greatness and am honored to be among you.

I have stated, time and again, DO NOT BELIEVE ANYTHING UNTIL IT IS SIGNED!!! I promised, I will report when the truth is proven fact. You guys are in for a big surprise. Some of you had it right, some of you didn't. It's not my place to say anything, considering I was wrong on a few predictions, too, but I did warn everyone that it wouldn't be as simple as everyone wanted to pretend it could be, or as obvious. Jr. may be on the racing side, but Kelly is watching out. (God bless her, she is who keeps him grounded.) He is blessed to have a good team behind him, that care about him, unlike most in our sport, and the decission is not in haste. Pay attention people, over the next few months our sport will change forever.

Catch 22- Building A Better Robot
May 04, 2007 | 5:39PM | report this

Is Tony expected to hold his tongue in the heat of the moment? To me it seems there is a double standard. Critics say that he needs to control his emotions, yet when he does, he is also deemed wrong. He knew he had nothing good to say so he did as the adage says- he said nothing at all. He didn’t blow up or voice his disgust, he went to his hauler to cool down. So, what’s the problem? Well, it turns out that doing what everyone has been telling him to do is only right if it doesn’t interfere with NASCAR’s agenda. Tony not giving the world another reason to exploit him, broke the rules. Track forms state that the 1st-3rd place drivers, as well as the top placing rookie, are required to report to the media center to answer questions. So, I ask, what’s the deal?

Do you:

a)      Want Tony to control his temper and not speak in the heat of the moment?

b)      Say that to sound “PC” and hope he’ll explode into a ratings bonanza?

c)      Urge Tony to do whatever he feels works toward accomplishing this goal, while adding the clause,” as long as it doesn’t affect our agenda”?

d)      Want to write Tony a script so that he can become the “Perfect Image” that you try to turn everyone into?

e)      Just want to make as much money as possible of him, only to abandon or chastise him for being real?

Tony’s temper has been a topic of discussion for years, yet I wonder how many really want him to change. All of the “this makes our sport look bad” and the “we will not tolerate conduct such as this” speeches in the world all boil down to one thing- ratings. If it’s being discussed it’s because of ratings. Press conferences and media reports are based on what they think will keep you glued to the source. There is good, but when it’s bad, it’s a gold mine.

Tony is trying to control any extremes, but he cannot be expected to stop being human. Every driver has moments when anger in the moment rules, some more than others. Words spoken in anger only show that you are human and that you have passion. Anger only becomes a true problem when it turns to rage.

Tony’s anger turned to rage so much so that he almost lost his team. He seemed to hold it all in (instead of letting off steam in the moment) until the pressure cooker would explode in extreme ways. With what you may call an “intervention” and a lot of support, Tony learned to control his rage and not let the anger build. He began to let it out so that it would not control him.

Tony stayed real. Right or wrong, he spoke his mind. He may have made a fool of himself at times, but at least he didn’t smile for the camera and give a pre-recorded message. Does he “run his head”? Yes, that’s Tony, hell that’s everyone. No one is perfect, some just need to learn to accept a person for who they really are or quit pretending to know who they are. You can’t like someone just for the attributes you choose.

Still, Tony’s attempts to voice his opinion were dissected and used to stir controversy, which goes to ratings, again. So, recently Tony tried what everyone has been touting as a cure, he dodged the bullets and went to cool off. Last week, however, dodging the bullet ended up getting him shot. A 6a.m. spanking, probation for the rest of the season, and a $10,000 fine is how Tony was rewarded for trying to stay away from trouble.

I accept Tony for all that he is, good and bad. I may not agree with all of his opinions, but I still respect his right to speak his mind. Tony has every right to criticize NASCAR, it’s called freedom of speech. It was stated that the “Live” show comments Tony made had nothing to do with the fine and probation, but that NASCAR could’ve penalized him for his remarks if they had chosen to do so. So now I guess the drivers will have to censor their remarks to make sure #### doesn’t get offended.

Whether remarks are right or wrong, if NASCAR is allowed to penalize anyone for comments about them, I will abandon the sport. I have long joked about #### rule in NASCAR, but this is no longer funny. We are now talking about freedom of speech. I understand that NASCAR feels it must protect its image, ha,ha, but everyone takes jabs at sanctioning bodies, it’s our right. NASCAR, like Tony, will never please everyone, but they cannot afford to alienate the real fans. It is NASCAR’s right to dictate and to contradict, but if they continue to act as if they have the right to rule every aspect of a drivers life, they will not only lose fans, but good drivers as well. To NASCAR I say leave the censorship to the FCC and worry about your own dictatorship.

Whispers of a split, as in Sprint car, have been slowly making rounds. I don’t think splitting up is a good idea, but NASCAR needs a wake up call. They need to be shown that theirs is not the indestructible monopoly they seem to believe it is. A new body may not survive, but it may, at least, make a point and possibly cause the world to question NASCAR’s true motives and agenda. Who knows, with the right people, a new league could blow NASCAR out of the water. Of course, this is all speculation. A second league would not be easy to form, and the ####’s have a lot of pull that could cause severe problems for an upstart rival. For those who do not think beyond the drivers consider this- NASCAR holds so many cards, the tracks, the tires, the manufacturers, the sponsors. NASCAR could black list and threaten enough to halt any attempts. On the other hand, those who NASCAR has shunned could join together and make it work, if they were willing to put up the money, time, and work without a big payout right away. If enough people, companies, and other entities really want to make a change it would have to be for the right reasons, because it would take time for the money to make it worth it. Is it possible? Yes. Probable? No, but just the fact that it has been whispered about must have NASCAR wondering.

NASCAR preaches give and take at every driver meeting, it is time they stop being hypocrites and practice what they preach. NASCAR needs to limit their obsession with trying to control every aspect of the participant’s lives. If NASCAR wants teams and drivers to be perfect and under their control, they need to replace everyone with robots.

My Open Wheel Thorn (Robin Miller) said it best when he said NASCAR gave Tony Stewart a frontal lobotomy. Robin’s remarks Sunday on the Speed Channel showed, once more, why I love this man. He says how it is, whether you like it or not. I lovingly refer to him as my “Open Wheel Thorn” because he is good at being a thorn in my side, by making me accept the facts. He is not NASCAR’s biggest fan, but he doesn’t speak from his rear. I started watching him every chance I got because he was critical. He made me mad, but he made a point. He, as I strive to do, tries to make you mad so that you’ll learn something or do something to change the problem. I do not always agree with Robin, but with him it is an intelligent disagreement that sometimes ends with both sides learning something. Over the years, Robin’s remarks have made for some damn good discussions, even when they end in stalemate, he accomplishes what should be accomplished- various opinions being discussed and argued intelligently, instead of being argued out of ignorance.

So, my toast is to my “Open Wheel Thorn”. Robin, I don’t always agree, but I always respect your opinion. My Guru’s (Jeff Hammond and Dave Despain) will have to excuse me, but in my quest to be a good reporter, you are what I strive to be. I want to be the thorn that gets people talking intelligently, who makes others get involved in a discussion, instead of an argument.

And to Tony, controlling your temper can be a good thing, but remember how you felt when you held it in. Be you, even if that means coming down with a case of hoof’n’mouth disease occasionally, it is what makes you human, and makes us feel like we’re not so different from you. P.S. Cindi told me how great you were, thanks for helping make her dream come true.

TO NASCAR: I am getting up at 5:30 so that I can report to the office, where I will, in no uncertain terms, remind myself that my life does not belong to me. I will then fine myself $10,000 and put myself on probation for the rest of the season. After I am through with my spanking, I will see if Robin will join me, over a bottle of Richards wine, in contemplating how the sport of NASCAR will survive when the only one’s left watching are the idiots who like to litter our tracks with trash (literally and figuratively) and don’t care about the facts.

P.S. If you want to learn a little about who Tony is when he’s not in the heat of the moment, please check out Southern Cindi’s Last Word for her blogs about her experience with Smoke. Watch out Mac, I'm Back!

Rumors that Ronny Mac ground me into Mac Meat have been greatly exaggerated, I said I was "grounded" from the net by Dr. Ron Mackey, damn media misquotes. Although, I have been watching my back since I told the clown to lay off my Oompa-loompa. (I check the feet, if he's in disguise, the huge shoes will give him away.)

$100,000 To Go To Victory Junction Gang Camp!!!

Speaking of The Bosses Husband, you can help a clown wax an Oompa-loompa! I have Kevin's e-mail, a link straight to donate, and links to all the info on "Operation: Wax Smoke" on my site.

Help Ronny Mac Wax Smoke! more info...

IMUSt've Missed Something
Apr 13, 2007 | 10:21AM | report this

This will be my only comment on the IMUS "mistake'.

I don't know how many people really paid any attention to Don before this remark, but he has always been the same offensive bigot. Why now is it a big deal? I don't know. When I was a kid I grew up around many different ethnicities. One of my best friends was african-american, of course to me she was just a friend. When I stayed at her house I learned that a hot comb on the stove was normal. I thought nothing more than, "What if it burns her?" I  have very curly hare and her other used to say i was nappy headed. When did having nappy hair become a "black" thing? (I know that context has a lot to do with the uproar, I am not wasting time on all details and arguments.)

Imus was trying to be cute, in his bigotted way, and it backfired. Myself, his show was a waste of time and space, but I do believe this is getting out of hand. If you don't want terms that are now listed as words used against you, don't use them yourself. No, the Rutgers team is not who I'm talking about. I'm talking about the world.

I hear the slang and slander every day, and about every race. Whether it is your race or another, it makes a statement about who you are, not who they are. This is what Rutgers should remember. Maybe it's something Jackson and Sharpton need to focus on.

Now they're arguing rap music, next they'll shoot all the comics, when does it stop? I want to know what happened to free speech? Whether you like what a person is saying or not, they have a right to their oppinion, just as you have the right to ignore it.

I don't care about Imus' stupid remark, what I do care about is that someone (even a bigot) can be fired for making an off hand remark that breaks no laws, and probably wouldn't even make news but for some buttheads who have nothing better to do.

Again, the outcome does make a point, but what point are we trying to make?

I was going to post this as a blog, but put it here to make a point:

"####"

I am a ####, some of you know a ####. We need to make something clear. If you are not a #### it is by no means okay to call us naggers. Only naggers can call naggers a ####. We have come up with the new term "nagga", which you are also not allowed to use unless you are a ####. We find the term "####" very offensive and believe "nagga" is more endearing. My song, "That Nagga's a Nappy Headed ####", was written from experince, so I have the right to call her that and it doesn't offend anyone. The most important thing to remember is that you have freedom of speech, as long as it doesn't offend us. On the other hand, we are the naggers, so we can say what we want.

My point is that it is not okay to deem a term unusable by some and not by others. Rap began using the term "####" as a way to take the punch out of it, to make it so comon that it no longer would have a derogtory meaning. This backfired thanks to more than a few "artists". ####, ####, ####, all meant to be derogatory. If you don't want the term to be mainstream and used by everyone, don't use it! I could go on for days with this side and that, but only we can change it.

I look at people as people, not a color, race, religion, or party. This is how everyone should be. This, however sad, will probably never happen. The Super Bowl proved that, two black coaches were the headline, not two best friends.

Please don't blast me, I just believe that freedom of speech is more important than an idiotic remark, and everyone says stupid things. This is what we call news?

The Hat and Mikey
Apr 12, 2007 | 4:26PM | report this

Is it just me or does karma have a hit on Mikey? I believe he's had enough bad luck to make up for his errors in judgement. Oh, no- wait a minute, another error in judgement!!! The man has a dream life and job, can you please tell me why in h e double hockey sticks can't he afford a cab? My dissapointment in Mikey continues to grow. Not that he ever was a fav anyway, but I don't judge just because I don't care for someone. I may poke fun at times, but it is always meant in good humor. I seldom joke about those I truely dislike, it leads to saying things you shouldn't. Michael Waltrip has crossed the threshhold, and I don't see him coming back. The lapse in judgement this time could've cost lives. Maybe they'll make him sherrif?!?

To Texas, who will wear the hat? I think it looks good on Tony, and maybe he can hold it off to the side and cover Tara up. Yes, I hate her because I'm not her. Wait, I better clarify that, I would never want to be her, those who know understand, only to be in her position, beside MY man!!!  Oh, well, past aside, they seem to get along, and at least she's pretty?

How about Kasey? You know the guy who drives the 6... er..9 sorry upside down. I didn't care for Kasey in the hat, it made him look like he was wearing one of those giant hats you win at the fair.

Jr. well it just doesn't fit his style.

I think Elliott Sadler is the guy. He's got the rugged yet boyish charm every cowboy needs.

For my friends, sometime next week the new look will go up at the site. I will have forums and voting, ect. I can't feature you if I don't have info to contact you!!

ABOUT ME

kcjsmoket20
I am a Tony fanatic. The rest of my top 5: Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, and Dale Jr. I was born in Rockford, IL and grew up as a pit brat at the Rockford Speedway. I was lucky enough to meet many of the greats, though, back then, they seemed more like extended family. I will 4ever be a Dale Sr. fan. My main focus is NASCAR, but I love to watch dirt racing, NHRA, Sprint racing, and sometimes other forms of racing. I love football. The New Orleans Saints have always been a fav, but my team is the Cheifs. I am big into UFC. Rich Franklin is my man. I watch NHL- Bruins rule! In NASCAR, my guru is Jeff Hammond, racing in general- Dave Despain, and my Media Guru is my Open-wheel Thorn, Robin Miller. My Site is WFORacingFans
