As the NFL is quickly approaching here's a little idea I like to entertain from time to time. We are starting with QB's. You can use every player that is on any team (no free agents or retirees) and use any one of their assets to make an uberplayer. You can only use one player once, so choose their attributes wisely. For QB's here are what I think are most essential.
Game awareness- Jeff Garcia, all you needed to do was watch him play last year. He knew he didn't need to win the game but had to manage it and he knew every situation.
Arm Strength- Jamarcus Russell, I've heard reports of him throwing it over 80 yards from his knees as confirmed by Gambit. Now that's an arm.
Arm Accuracy- Drew Brees, he was noted as a great precision passer and his numbers comfirmed it last year as he was 2nd in completion percentage among guys with over 300 attempts behind Brady.
Scrambling/Speed- Vince Young, this pick would have been Vick a few years ago but seeing he likes to fight with dogs more, VY and his amazing escapability is an easy choice.
Vision- Tom Brady, he always seems to be able to find that open reciever even with a blitzer in his face. Of course having Moss and Welker last year helps.
Leadership- Peyton Manning, his team knows he's in charge and he officially runs the show. Plus he makes good commercials.
Heart- Jon Kitna, he may not be the best but he plays every game hard and wants to win. He guaranteed 10 wins for the Lions, you must have a ton of heart to guarantee that.
Well there's my QB, I would have liked to use some guys more than once, but that's what makes this fun. If you want, throw in all-time and it gets much more interesting. Next up will be RBs.
Kal- I want to add one more attribute to the uber QB, and by the way, this is a brilliant idea...it's like Robo cop NFL!
How about excitement factor? FAVRE! I would put the gunslinger in there...Mr. Comeback himself. He's old, tends to throw INTs, but man, when it comes down to excitement, he's always in the thick of it.
gambit- I thought it was a huge number, but I didn't know how big. I didn't want to overexaggerate and look like a fool. But I'll change it now. Thanks too by the way.
Lisa- I was going to use Favre for heart but since he was retired, I couldn't. He's a warrior on the field and I love it.
Be sure to tell your friends. There may be a robo-QB coming to an area near you.
Still racing current!!!Recently, On the hot millionaire singles club*****+kiss millionaires.com +*****, I have some great experiences with hot girls sthere. Amazingly, I seemed to see some famous player had a personal account there with recent photos. It was reported on MSN Charlie Sheen has found his girl there last May.
Hey whose that QB Minny picked up? Is he 4 or 5 star? Nice steal for the Golden Gophers.
Bradys vison is overated. They consistently have such a great line he has hella time. I'd say he has pretty good pocket presence though, but so does Manning. Heck, my robo-Qb would be made up of those two right now, though neither one has a real strong arm.
PS: Your media player has a nice mix of old and new...my Q is, wheres the Led??? Best rock band of all time, its not even debatable!!! haha
The QB that's coming in now is MarQueis Gray. He's thought to be a top 5 dual threat QB. Next year Moses Alipate is committed and is thought to be another dual threat QB.
Brady still manages to find them. He had the highest comp % last year. I would have liked to use them more than once but that's part of the fun.
You only get 100 songs. Maybe they need some room.
Brady's comp% was partly because of Moss's hands. Im pretty sure with Moss on my Team, and me having no qb skills at all, would high a pretty decent comp%. All you have to do is throw it up and let Moss catch it. He is a great QB no doubt, but his numbers are unreal because of his triple threat receiving corps.
I would like to throw in Anderson as a nominee for heart. He was a back-up qb filling in untill Quinn was ready. He seized the oppurtunity and produced. Another QB with heart is Chris Simms. Or would that be considered Toughness. Toughness could be a catagory in its own. I would say Leftwich and Simms are top canidates in that spot.
Excitment factor I would say Tony Romo. At any time he could throw the game away. Plus he is sure to have some eye candy for the media to grab hold of.
I met Drew Bress the other day. He did a USO tour to Afghan, he's a real down to earth guy. Osi (Giants), Brees, and Goodell all came out. Osi and Brees are stand up guys. I would have them on any of my teams. Although Drew isnt as big as I thought he was.
Steve- I know that is part of it, but you still have to be able to look and see who will be open. Moss helps, but many of his completions were hitting a late breaking TE or a back or Welker on a quick out. Anderson was in the mix for heart. Nobody gave him a chance but he fought through the adversity.
Toughness could be a category. Got to be able to take a hit.
Excitement to me would be VY, he has that escapability and I find that exciting in a QB.
Its good to hear the more feel good stories about the good players in the NFL. Make sure to spread that one around.
gambit- Size does help playing QB. I used to play there and at 5'7" its certainly tough.
