This cat of nine lives has just got another one. Perrilloux hooking up with another team was inevitable of course, but the situation he is coming into shocks me and I find it to be very pathetic.
Read that one more time, 'a school that has just dismissed its starting QB for discipinary reasons'. And Perilloux is your answer. Please!
JSU should of immediately thrown the breaks on this one. You have just had to suspend a kid for disciplinary reasons and you sign on a kid that has had run-ins with the law over and over again. Its just asking for the NCAA to look into your school.
I'm not arguing Perrilloux isn't a great athlete and may not suceed there. Maybe he just couldn't stand to be out of the spotlight. But why for your school's sake would you risk the integrity of your program to possible future recruits, alumni, and parents by signing on a kid with so many run-ins with the law.
Perrilloux may turn his life around and find JSU should have been the place for him all along, but I know that if I was in charge of those athletes, he's not a part of my team.
thanks to Foxsports.com for the link and flickr.com for the picture.
As huge of a Tiger fan I am I'm kind of glad this kid is gone. He's obviously a screw up and I'm willing to wager it takes him about 2 months into the season to show his true colors once again. JSU must have morons running it's program.
Wow, didn't know about J-State dismissing a player for the same reason as Perrilloux was: disciplinary reasons. Odd, very odd. Do they play any SEC schools on their schedule? That could be a very compelling game to watch if they do. :)
Kal - do they play Sam Houston State? He and Rhett "Mr. Selfish" Bomar could hang out and talk about things. You know, second and third and sometimes fourth chances sort of things.
Perrilloux was all hype and no substance. The win over Tennessee was more defense than it was offense. LSU doesn't need a great QB, it needs one that can get the ball into all of those playmaker's hand.
J-State will regret this decision. Chalk up another talented athlete that just didn't get it.
Living in the New Orleans area and following Ryan's career, it seems the kid was star struck, if he just play football, it will all work, everyone has a comment and no answers, he still has a lot of support from LSU as well as others, this is not a bad kid, he has off the field issues, mostly kid stuff just like most, He was just the QB @ LSU, if some other place some of that would have went out the window.

I'm a 17-year-old sports fan that lives in the northwest corner of Minnesota about 20 miles from Canada, who would love to be a sports writer. I have played organized sports all my life including football, baseball, golf, hockey, and, though I'm not too proud of it, basketball for a weekend.
