A response to Boxer Corrales dies in accident in Las Vegas

My heart goes out to his family!!!  I'm still in shock!!!  He was a great warrior in the ring and will truly be missed.  One of the most memorable fights throughout boxing history was by the way of his hands and skill.  We will miss you Diego!!!

Thoughts on Morrison returning, says he is HIV negative

A response to Morrison returning, says he is HIV negative

I remember at the time Morrison was in his prime when the positive test came back.  I couldn't believe it especially since I was a fan.  What sucks is going through all the press and losing 10 years off your life due to inaccuracy.  As far as a comeback, I think the inactivity will have taken it's toll.  Some sort of compensation would be in order for all the money lost if it was me.  I just wish they would've knew the truth a long time ago.  Sylvester Stallone sure did put it on him in Rocky 5 though!!!  Good luck to Morrison on his comeback!!!

DID ANYONE SEE ANDRE BERTO?
Feb 18, 2007 | 3:45PM | report this

As a boxing fan to be understated, I am following his career from the beginning.  I mentioned for you guys to check out his fight last night.  He not only knocked out his opponent in the 1st round, he solidified his name in the game.  He fought NBC's The Contender fighter Noberto Bravo.  Which already was under his caliber.  BERTO WILL BE A WORLD CHAMPION SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I will be first to put that on the line!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  His fight plan was better than I expected.  I actually thought it would go 2 rounds, but he proved me wrong.  He lives down the road from me, and I will try to get up with him!!!!!!!!!!!!  Most fights I can watch and tell a fighter where to go, he went exactly where I would have if I were in the ring.  That tells me he is someone to be recognized!!!!!!!  Within the next year I suggest he fights an old seasoned veteran who has won a title, and just beat him.  That will get him the exposure he needs!!!  Boxing fans be ready to meet the next phenom!!!  Check out the HBO replay of the fight.  You have to catch it at the beginning, since it was so quick.  But................

Thoughts on Tim Hardaway: I wouldn't play with a #### man

A response to Tim Hardaway: I wouldn't play with a #### man

How would you handle dealing with a #### person on your team in the locker room?  I am not homophobic in any kind of way.  But could you imagine how uncomfortable it would be?  I for one would rather not know if they were #### or not.  It's was best for John to come out after his career in the NBA along with Esera Tuaolo formerly of the NFL.  I couldn't stand the whole locker room deal in high school.  In fact a couple of students I was in school I run into now has come out the closet.  It's just something you have to deal with.  Growing up, you are expected to live be a certain way.  Pressure from family and friends it can be tough.  Once that time is over for you to live your life the way you want to, it's a burden lifted.  I just rather not know if you're in my locker room.

Favorite MMA fighter!!! Past or Present!!!
Feb 10, 2007 | 11:26PM | report this

Royce Gracie would be my all time favorite MMA fighter.  He dominated the sport when it was more brutal.  They had more fights back then and what rules?  For the UFC currently I would say my favorite is Arlovski.  Win or Lose his fights are always good.  I would like to see him and Cro Cop fight.  Dana White needs to put that together.    What are your thoughts?

Hatton Vs Mosley?
Feb 10, 2007 | 9:56PM | report this

Mosley looked great winning with no issues over Collazo.  It only calls for me to question how Hatton would favor over Mosley.  He is undefeated and has to prove himself  still here in the U.S.  I truly love this fighter and would love to see him do good in the U.S.  I remember the first fight I seen with Hatton crushing ribcages.   I say he needs to beat a seasoned veteran in  Mosley to make a name as a dominant fighter.  Fighting Castillo would be a great tune-up before Mosley if he could pull off a win.  He is the most humble of fighters in the sport, which is why I root for him.  This would be a great fight and I hope someone puts it together.  What are your thoughts?

Thoughts on Hopkins, Wright agree to July 21 PPV event

A response to Hopkins, Wright agree to July 21 PPV event

Alright, Alright!!!!!  It seems boxing is making it's comeback this year already!!!  We have a few fights already to look foward to.  Even a Roy Jones Jr. comeback?  But this fight will be a very special fight I believe.  I think Wright is one of the best pound for pound fighters as well as Hopkins in the sport.  But, not a knockout fighter.  His defense is at the top of the game, and is hard to penetrate.  Hopkins is a master at exposing flaws in defense, plus an old school smart fighter.  I don't believe Taylor won the first fight with him to take his belt, and I watched it at least 10 times.  De La Hoya did have a good fight with him until he left his whole right side exposed for like a whole 30 seconds inviting Hopkins to take advantage.  So with that, Im taking Hopkins will if he starts early this fight will win in the 11th round with stoppage.  Wright although I love his fight game, has not scored a knockout in what? 5 years!!!!!

Mayweather? The greatest fighter in boxing history?
Feb 07, 2007 | 7:22PM | report this

I can't help but respond to this article with Mayweather considering himself as the greatest fighter of all time.  I don't even know where to begin.  Let's start with, he would need a win over a 33 year old De La Hoya.  Which at 33, he still is in his prime.  After his last fight, he solidified that.  Just run down the opposition De La Hoya has faced in comparison to Mayweather.  I could do it for you, but that wouldn't do any good if you've followed boxing the past decade.  I was a Mayweather fan, just until he started running his mouth about being better than Ali !!!!!  I admire ALI and look up to him not only as the best in history in the ring, but as a man outside as well.  What has Mayweather accomplished outside the ring besides an enormous shoe collection,  expensive cars and legal trouble?  I could go on forever, but would rather hear your thoughts on that subject.  I will be in Vegas for this one, my money is on Oscar.  Mayweather has never faced an assault from the likes of Mayorga, Trinidad, Hopkins, Mosley, Vargas, Camacho, Chavez, Whittaker, Quartey and so on.  So, he has his work cut out for him.  De La Hoya's defense has improved after training with his father, but he was always one of the best fighters of my generation and history for that matter.
