Change NASCAR to Jr nation.
May 25, 2008 | 8:39AM | report this
It's sad to see the Nascar officials ignore blantent violations of rules when it comes to Ironhead Jr. Last nignt he and his other driver hit the 20 car under caution and lifted the wheels off the ground taking a chance of damiaging the motor. Then they wanted to fight after the 20 car retalliated. What is wrong with the NASCAR officials? They parked Michael Waltrip for what he did to Casey Mears and penilized Todd Bodine for hitting Hornaday in a race, but no action was taken last night when Jr hit Hamlin under caution. Why is that? Maybe they should change the name from NASCAR to Jr nation. Enough is enough!!!

Darlington was under race conditions and Jr did not give Kyle enough room. Kyle got loose and hit Jr, but if Jr had given a little more room, he might have finished the race. The very next week, Jr pushed Reed Sorenson into the wall, but no comments were made about god hitting someone else on the track. I guess the other drivers need to move over and let him pass anyone he wants to. He sure can't drive around them!!!! He is not nor ever will be the driver his daddy was. He just has the name..

You are so right. As I sat and watched that episode last night, I thought uh oh, Jr. is going to be sent to the end of the line. And I waited for NASCAR to send him there.

But NASCAR held true to its form of favoritism towards Jr. and let him keep his spot. NASCAR you were wrong, and Jr. should be penalized for his involvement in bumping the 20 car.

Just more fuel to those who think NASCAR already favors Hendrick and Jr.

Oh and by the way 88sgr8 don't you mean Richmond? Not Darlington. And Yes Jr. was at fault there too.

I am so sick of jr. fans, and of fox. What in the hell has jr. done, ABSOLUTELY nothing, he is nothing but a top 10 driver WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!! He hasn't won a worthwhile race in two years and it doesn't look like he will win anytime soon. He went to hendricks to do what, DO WHAT HE WAS DOING AT DEI. Wake up jr. fans he is just another so so driver.

The nation sure wanted Kyle thrown in the brink after Richmond. Yet after sat. night Denny was all wrong to them. LOL. Anyway Kyle is still kicking Jr's #### and has won in all three series multiple time this year. What has Jr. got. When he wins I will listen. Till then, Kyle Busch and the Gibbs team can beat the snot out of Jr. and his nation...LOL.

After last night's performance, Jr. proved to me he doens't have the ability to let his crew know how to set the car up after they work their buts off geting it right. After he shot by the 20 car like he was backing up, I made the comment, he would crash and kill the car, Come on, Jr, go back to the Legends and race them. You might be able to beat the 12 year olds, but I seriously doubt that too.
How about the penilty Jr should have had for passing the safety crew at an unsafe speed. I guess going by the guys cleaning up HIS mess should get out of his way too. NASCAR, you don't have Sr out there anymore.
As far as Goodyear, I think they have lulled the guys to sleep and are still building junk tires. Look how many blew after the long runs. They hold up for a long time, but when they go, there is no warning. I really wish all concerned would get the driver's safety in mind instead of putting on a show for the fans. Most just go to see the wrecks and the tempers. I like to see good racing without tearing up a lot of cars.

I cannot pick on Jr. only some of his fans. Jr. Nation, has about run it's course. Old Sr. fans have been jumping ship and find Kyle, more to their liking. Kyle, will gain fans faster than any other driver.....he does not give a damn about anything but the win. He may not win any popularity votes, but he will win a Championship!

Kyle Busch could drive a dump truck and beat Jr in any race condition and most other so called drivers. There are a few out there that could keep up with him, if they could figure out what makes his cars sooo STRONG!!
And as for the ordeal Saturday night, Brad and Jr. didn't get any scolding for hitting Denny under caution, and Jr. didn't get penilized for going by the safety crews toooo fast Sunday night either. Wonder why????

FIRST OFF DID ANY OF YOU NOTICE THAT ALL BRAD K. DID IN THE #88 NAVY CAR IS BUMP DENNY HAMLICK ON THE BUMPER TO SAY,,"HEY I'M STILL RIGHT HERE GETTING READY TO PASS YOU AGAIN PUNK" AND DENNY WAS MAD BECAUSE HE COULDN'T PASS HIS MATEY PYLE BUSCH WHO DEFECTED TO ANOTHER TEAM FOR THAT RACE (HAHA) SO HE COULDN'T WIN IN JGR'S PRECIOUS LITTLE #20 CAR AND BRAD AND HE HAD BEEN RACING HARD BEFORE THE YELLOW, THEN HE (DENNY) SMASHED INTO THE #88 AND RIPPED THE FENDER OFF TRYIN' TO TAKE OUT THE TIRE AND ONLY THEN DID JR. BUMP HIM TO SAY "LOOK JACK@$$ DON'T BE TEARIN' UP MY EQUIPMENT RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME LITTLE CRYBABY" SO THE PENALTY SHOULDA BEEN TO HAMLICK NOT JR. GET OVER IT

THIS STRAIGHT FROM THE HORSES MOUTH.. the real fireworks occurred between Hamlin and Keselowski under the final caution. Keselowski tapped Hamlin's Camry as the cars circled the track behind the pace car. Hamlin retaliated by turning right into Keselowski's No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.

"What the hell did he do that for?" asked Earnhardt, Keselowski's car owner, after the race. "Brad bumped him just a little bit under caution, and Denny knocked the fender off his car. Now the car's all tore up."

As Busch celebrated his 15th win in the series, crews from the two teams engaged in an angry confrontation on pit road, as NASCAR officials tried to keep the teams apart.

Hamlin complained that Keselowski had repeatedly failed to give him racing room earlier in the event.

"Give a guy two inches to let him clear, and don't just hang onto my rear quarter panel," said Hamlin, who made it clear that his retaliation was for the bump under caution, not for the way Keselowski had raced him. "You throw a rock, I'm going to throw a concrete block back." Keselowski, a full-time Nationwide driver, had a different perspective.

"I race one day a week, not two," he said. "I have 200 laps to prove myself, not 400. I have to make the most of every lap."

Sorry friend, I have nothing against Jr. personally. I know he doesn't know how to set his cars up and niether does his cousin. He needs to go to late model and learn how to set the cars up for longer runs than 20 laps.
I have been in the racing industry since 1970 and drove late models until I retired in '86. I worked on my own equipment and learned how to set them up from the best. One of them was Jr.'s daddy. The others were the Alabama gang.
As for Waltrip, he was way out of line for what he did and should have been suspended for the stupid stunt. I don't think Brad should give in to the Super jocks either, but he needs to keep his cool under caution. He also needs to remember they didn't get to that status by being whimps. That includes Jr. Rubbing fenders is part of racing and these team gimmicks for points and such should be outlawed. Let the guys race. NASCAR has to get a grip on things and keep the control or you will see some of the young pups hurt.

You're ragging on NASCAR for not sending Jr. to the back for hitting Hamlin, but no mention of Hamlin?

Sounds like you're hating on Jr. more than anything. Hamlin smacked Keselowski under caution, and actually caused damage to Keselowski's car. If you can't bash Hamlin for doing what he did to Keselowski's car, you can't bash Jr. for just rubbing up against Hamlin's car.

Now, I don't think Keselowski lifting up Hamlin's car was right, but Hamlin's retaliation was WAY out of line.

Junior fans are holding a contest to best describe Kyle in four letters. "Punk" is ahead of "jerk," but the runaway winner can't be printed here.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
With all that duct tape streaming from the back of the car by the end of the race, Junior's Chevy looked like a fast-moving parade float.
Jeff Gordon
When the crew told him to conserve fuel during that final green-flag run, Jeff drove just like he does when it's his turn in the day care car pool.
Denny Hamlin
Denny went from "throwing a concrete block" at Brad Keselowski on Saturday night to hitting the concrete wall Sunday evening.
Kasey Kahne
Actual conversation heard Sunday night: "Glad to see Junior finally win one, but why did he change his number to 9?" lighten up people, It will be okay,..when JR. gets the CUP the NATION will still love yous lmao...look at my pics. i have a really cool one of some kyle busch fans lol...PEACE>>>>

Let's get it straight, Jr. fans. I'm not a Jr. fan, that's for sure, but I have to agree with some of your comments, he did have to work for what he got, but so did Davey Allison and several others. Dale Sr.lost his life doing what he loved to do and was great at it. I was sad to see it happen. I knew Sr. and had a lot of respect for him. He wouldn't put up with the BS that is going on now from anyone. None of the older drivers would. Giving an inch or two was all you would ever get from one of us and just like Hamlin said, throw a brick, I'll throw a concrete block. Now, let me lead a lap and I'll give the lead back to you was unheard of. If you can pass me, you can lead.
As for Nascar, We raced other tracks. I made more money in the late models than most of the Cup drivers did in their careers. Nascar was corrupt then and they still are. Junior and all the kids racing today don't make money racing, they make it sucking down some drink or wearing a pair of ragged jeans and anything else comes their way. Racing is just where they promote the products and people eat it up. Racing has changed since my days and the days of the Reffners, They could probably put a car around the track better than any of the new kids on the block today. They had to know all about the car and how to work on it as I did. I didn't make it to the Cup cars, not because I didn't want to, because I was not in Nascar. I ran the outlaw tracks where the money was good and the rules were steady and the cars were affordable.

okay fair enough , but what i don't understand is WHY does your blog start by misinforming people about what happened on the track between the three of them? you make it sound like Jr. started something...when you KNOW he didn't, basically your telling a lie saying the 20 retaliated, Brad only bumped him for pete sake, a LOVE tap if you will..lol I just watched it again and don't see ANYTHING Brad did to warrant what denny did tearing up that 88 car! you make it sound like Jr. should be punished..wouldnt it be fair to say they ALL shoulda been sent to the end of the line then? and by the way...JR NATION falls off the lips easier than sprint cup series. your comment about Jr. being "GOD" lol maybe JESUS, but not "GOD" the way he is hung on the cross by all the petty so called "fans" of NASCAR everyday of the week, you say he will never be his daddy.. yet they compare a snot nosed little punk kid to his daddy...when we ALL know NOONE will EVER be his daddy..the rules have changed ..nascar picks and chooses when they want to enforce certain things ..and it isnt ALWAYS Jr. as you so imply..and he did get penalizes for speeding, did you miss seeing him get sent to the back of the line? sounds to me like you shoulda tivoed it, then you could go back and see I tell the truth.. lol I have NO reason to lie...NONE

So, let me get this straight. You want the 88 and 83 to be penalized but not the 20? Are you joking?
Sure, Dale and Brad should not have hit Hamlin but they did no damage to his racecar but Hamlin went and tore the fender off Brad's car. And that's fair?
If you penalize one you need to penalize all.
The fight on pit road should have resulted in both teams getting fined and suspended not just one. And what about Hamlin not only being rude and arrogant in his interview but using the word "pissed."
If anything, NASCAR doesn't have consistent rules and the only favortism they've shown this year is to toyota and Joe Gibbs Racing.
Denny, You're supposed to be a Cup driver, start acting like one. I'm by no means giving Brad, a rookie the right to act immature but look at the people around him. It's no wonder where he got it from

kacdodj, so what you are saying, it is ok to hit someone under caution flag conditions. The only thing Hamlin did wrong is not stuffing him in the wall or waiting until green flag and stuffing him in the wall. As for the 83, he had no business hitting the 20 car at all. Again as a car owner, he should act like a car owner, not a heathen from hicktown. You don't see Gibbs or Hindricks, or Childress on the track duking it out with every car that messess with their cars. Come on people, just because Totota is kicking serious butt and they have some of the best drivers, no need to get all bent out of shape. I DON"T like Toyota, but, I have to pull for my drivers. Again, if you can't run with the big dogs, stay on the porch!!

jrgfan, you're showing your complete biasness on this issue. You're saying the 20 should have put the 88 in the wall, yet ####ing out Jr. for bumping the 20 in the back (and causing no damage, mind you). You're saying the 20 had every right to put the 88 in the wall, either under caution or during race conditions, yet you're saying the 83 had no right to bump the back of the 20.

And I'm not saying the 83 should have bumped the 20, but given what the 20 did it was minor in comparison.

Stop hating on Jr., because that is CLEARLY all you're doing. You're "points' (or whatever you want to call them) are clearly based on you're bashing of Jr., and not by looking at the incident from a non-biased point of view.

You know, Guardmrjuniorsamp88, I like you because of your stance with Jr. Keep on being loyal to your driver. That's what makes racing what it is today. My opinion is totally different and I will be happy to continue talking to you, but we both need to stop the name calling. Time will tell how good jr. really is and I really do hope he improves over the years.
As for my career, I made $19,000,000 racing from 1970-1986. I had a good life and enjoy my retiement very much. I won several track championships and many races. And yes, I have hit a few cars during cautions throughout my career, but as a car owner, I let my driver do the talking.
So, lets continue these discussions, but under better atitudes and have fun. That goes for anyone else.
