Around the world of the NFL faster than two Antrel Rolle Pick Six Specials, Crappafoni Pictures presents, in living color, the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly.
THE GOOD
Arizona Cardinals: granted, they DID beat the Bungles, errrrrr, Bengals, but this team looked sharp. As stated above in the opening, Antrel Rolle had two Pick Six Specials in the game. Kurt Warner looked sharp again. Is this 2007, or 1999? Warner is playing like it WAS 1999.
New England Patriots: they are making it look too easy. They are NOT running up the score tonight; in fact, they're making every effort to call off the dogs. They're just too good right now. Even their defense is scoring TDs, as evidenced by Ellis Hobbs' 35-yard fumble return. Can New England run the table? I think they can.
New York Jets: beating one of the league's better teams will get you in the Good column every single time. They whipped the Steelers in the special teams aspect; in fact, a Leon Washington return set up the winning FG in OT.
Green Bay Packers: they are clicking on all cylinders now, and now they have discovered a running game. They beat an outmanned Panthers team minus Steve Smith (on a good note for the Panthers, they have discovered a #2 receiver in Dwayne Jarrett). Brett Favre is probably having the best season of his illustrious and stellar career. He has young studs that he can throw to, and young studs that can tote the rock, and young studs up front to protect him. This team is going to be an elite team for the next 3-5 years.
Dallas Cowboys: Tony Romo has been playing much better since his contract extension. He proved it by throwing for four TDs to Terrell Owens. Speaking of Owens, he's been a MUCH happier guy since Romo has become the Cowboys' starting QB. And the Cowboys have become a much better team since RomoCop took the helm.
Jacksonville Jaguars: or more specifically, Maurice Jones-Drew. I put him in here because he LIT UP Shawne Merriman on a blitz. He decleated Merriman; that allowed David Garrard to throw a TD pass.
Cleveland Browns vs. Baltimore Ravens: this was one of the most bizarre, wackiest, and best games you'll ever see. Joshua Cribbs accounted for OVER 300 return yards, the first time that's happened in 34 years. But it was the 52-yard FG at the end of regulation that has people talking. That's going to be talked about as one of the most bizarre plays in NFL history. And it just may be the impetus to send Cleveland to the playoffs this season.
THE BAD
Pittsburgh Steelers: you lost to the J!E!T!S! SUCK! SUCK! SUCK!? What the HELL was that?? And just when you were going to become permanent residents of Goodville, you toss in this rotten egg!!
San Francisco 49ers: NO TDs in the last two-plus games? The 2000 Ravens offense thinks you're pathetic. The St. Louis Rams made some big plays on defense to get this win.
Miami Dolphins: still NO wins! You'll be in this column from here until you get your first win, which will be sometime next season. Granted, John Beck made his first start against a tough Eagles' defense. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, they only have one winnable game, against the Jets.
THE UGLY
Chicago Bears at Seattle Seahawks: last year or two years ago, this was a great matchup. Now it's between a bad team and mediocre team. It seemed like neither team wanted it that bad. Yecccccch!
Kansas City Chiefs at Indianapolis Colts: 13-10? It was an ugly win, but in the NFL, you don't get style points. Indy won, bottom line.
I'm pretty sure Hasselbacks numbers were better than Warners and QB rating better than everyone but Brady's....You have a grudge or something? Seahawks best offencive game of the year, just not so good on d.......
Bad team and a mediocre team? Let's just assume the mediocre team is the Hawks for a sec. Two things:
1)The Hawks are all of one game worse than the team you were "about ready to put in Goodville" and are even with them outside that game--not to mention with the way the Steelers have been outside the 'burgh this year I have no doubt the Hawks would have laid the wood on them if it had been at Qwest.
2)Somehow, the mediocre team is one game AHEAD of the team you couldn't wait to #### all over.
Did Dayn Perry or his football mirror image Adam Schein write this #### or something?
you called it right on the steelers......i thought this was going to be a blow out boring game with steelers creaming jets!!! this game reminded me of last years game with ben having a horrible game aginst the oakland raiders (where he shouldnt of played). new england is goign to chew us up and spit us out like yesterdays garbage. as much as i HATE HATE NEW ENGLAND, THEY CHEATED SHOULDNT EVEN BE IN THE NFL AND ESP. THERE COACH AND TOM BRADY GAG ME BC everone is sick of hearing about it. y not talk bout the packers?.....new eland is a good team....tomlin has his work cut out for him and for gosh sake please put someone else in special teamkickoff/punt returns rossum SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I see some improvement in the Seahawks. At least, they're not running off at the mouth, prancing around after makeing a good play when they're 10 points behind or acting like they have just won the Superbowl when they beat a weaker team. They coming to the game a little more mentally and physically ready to play--a little more of a "game face". It was great not to see Hasselbeck running down the field with his finger in the air claiming to be number one. Someone needs to tell him Tom Brady's number one.
...Handler...you're an ####. The 'Hawks got laid the #### OUT against the Steelers. NO points? Yeah, that was really a very competative game, and home field advantage was what turned it in Pit's favor.
Face it...the 'Hawks are NOT a good team. They just get the luxury of playing in the easiest division in football.
"Handler...you're an ####. The 'Hawks got laid the BLEEP OUT against the Steelers. NO points? Yeah, that was really a very competative game, and home field advantage was what turned it in Pit's favor."
Correct me if I'm wrong, but the Steelers are winless on the road against non-AFC North opponents correct? And btw one of those losses was to a team in "the easiest division in football" right? The Hawks on the other hand are 31-7 at Qwest since 2003. You're gonna tell me that the outcome would have been the same, sure................
Go back to listening to Jerome Bettis tell his weekly Al Bundy stories now.
Need to add another Good to the Redskins. Though they lost, with the attitude they brought yesterday, they made sure the Cowboys/Redskins rivalry is alive and well. Haven't seen a game like that since the Landry days.
Somehow the Fins should be listed under "the bad" and "the ugly". Even in games that it seems they are finally going to win (against the bills last week), they somehow "FIND" a way to lose. I'm a long time Dolphin fan and I am disgusted with the front office in Miami.
By the way, has anybody noticed how many players on the Patriots roster are ex-Dolphins?
John Madden, hop aboard the "Kiss my #### Patriots Bandwagon!" "Greatest team of all time," "Greatest QB of all time," I don't know if that was a turkey leg in Madden's pocket or just the result of watching the GREATEST TEAM OF ALL TIME NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS in all their glory! all you jealous haters are now trying to get first class tickets on the Pats Express. hop abord! check your jealous b.s. at the counter!
I need to add the Chargers to the ugly list. As long as they have Norv Turner at the helm, they will be ugly. Thank goodness for the decline of the Chiefs and Broncos and the continued commitment to excrement that is the Raiders.
I do think the Bears and the Seahawks are mediocre teams at best, but it was far from an "ugly" football game. "Neither team wanted it that bad"? That's just flat out incorrect. It's painfully obvious you had this game pegged as a dog beforehand, and were too lazy to reassess after they actually played it. If you want to write for a major sports site, please bring a little more focus to the task.
EddyRay,
Are you claiming that the Seahawks have run off at the mouth and Hasselbeck has danced around in the past claiming they're the best? Or is that just the way I took your post?
That's one of the things I love about Seattle is that they, and most importantly Hasselbeck, are extremely humble. The first thing you ever hear Holmgren, or Hasselbeck say is how good the other team is, and show a lot of respect for their opponent, including after the game.
Where's some love for Houston? They have to fall into one of the three catagories. Granted, they beat a mediocre, some would even say overrated Saints team, but they're at .500 after 10 games, and are in THE toughest overall division in the NFL.
Yeah let's stop the season right now and give the trophy to the Pats. People like PATS WIN is why people hate the Patriots. The are sore losers and even poorer winners. Up by 25 points to a team who's running back and real quarterback are hurt they go for it on 4th down, you don't think that was running up the score? If there is a such thing as kharma it'll get them, hopefully someone will piledrive Brady into the ground when he's in there in the 4th quarter during a blowout and end his season. Maybe Kharma will get old Hoody Belicheat
a scorching case of #### like it did Mike Vick.
DBoyz-Hear ya-loud and clear-i hate the pats and if they aint careful, some big ugly will take that 15 yard penalty to put {cry baby Brady} on his buttocks with a busted rib, hip, or arm.
I have nothing against your team. I have given your team their props when they've earned it. You just happen to be in a bad division. You may go 10-6 when it's all said and done. I just think you'll be one and done in the playoffs. And if you have to go on the road, forget it. And thanks for comparing me to Dayn Perry or Adam Schein.
Gridiron, my bad for not adding Jason Campbell. He's been impressive since being named the starter last season. He's going to get better.
Schmaks, the Bears are a BAD team this year. Bad personnel decisions have contributed to their bad record.
TSI, thanks for the compliment.
OSL, my bad for omitting the Texans. Since getting AJ back, they're a MUCH better team. But it's probably too late this year. Look out for them next year. The Colts are on the decline, J-ville is inconsistent, and Tennessee has flaws.
xbulrdr8, that was the pinball shot that will get Cleveland into the playoffs.

This guy needs to be put in UGLY list. A great day would be for BG51 to be ran over by a semi. Now, that would be entertaining to watch.

I see that you're doing your exemplorary best not to ignite the wrath of the Fins' fans ?
That's if there's any left within this forum ? More likely than no they've either jumped off the bandwagon or over off a cliff to be more precise. That's about as incompetent a team as anyone could wish to see playing the game.
As for the Falcons I do now believe that the members of that team have lost all conviction in playing for Petrino. It's as if they've got no heart and one'd expect them to follow Dorothy and Toto all the way up the Yellow Brick Road to get a heart and a brain. 'cause at this moment in time they're playing with neither.
Check out my latest post and let me know what you think ? It's titled So There Was A Game Played Afterall And Who Knew ?

I don't know WHY you'd be proud of being compared to those two dolts, though I could go over the top and say Sean Salisbury, but that'd be way over the line.
If we go 10-6 and even if it's a one and done in the playoffs (though I say not with this home field advantage), that still means we're in the top 37.5% of the NFL, hardly mediocre. Not everybody can go to the SB every year.
I will say that we have our share of dolts on our side, one actually went as far to say that we need Hamlin, Boulware, and Wistrom back. Yeah let's just bring Jerramy Stevens back while we're at it! But then again everyone does.
Some, I also have a blog titled, Who Would You Throw Under The Bus? in which you can throw a player, team, coach, owner, league exec, or fan under the bus, e.g. call them out. Feel free to visit there and chime in with your nominee!
Willy, I'm amazed and awed by the Patriots' prowess. It's an awesome privilege to be on the front row of history being made.
Tophatal, the Fins are a broken record. It's getting more and more painful to keep putting them in the Bad list. I'll give your latest post a read and comment. Thanks for the invite.
Handler, I was saying that tongue in cheek. I don't always agree with either Perry or Schein, but they're worth a chuckle sometimes. I'm saying RIGHT NOW, the Hawks are mediocre. They typically play better the second half of the season. In the preseason I picked them to go 10-6 and make the playoffs as a wild card. Looks like they'll win the division at 10-6.
I am from Central California. I am passionate about sports, particularly the NFL and NASCAR. My favorite teams are: Panthers (NFL), Lakers (NBA), Flyers (NHL), and Dodgers (MLB). I am also a Kevin Harvick fan in NASCAR. I am a Fresno State honk. (I'll admit it!) And I am also a fan of MMA. Jackie Robinson to this day represents what is right about baseball. I also enjoy discussing the relevant (and sometimes irrelevant) issues of the day pertaining to sports. I will never understand why televised poker is so popular. Who wants to see a bunch of people sitting around a table, muttering to themselves? I do my best to keep politics out of my sports discussions. That is why I recently created a nonsports blog, cencalscribe. blogspot.com. That is where I post my nonsports topics.
