Hello again, and welcome to our weekly reprise from the serious and mundane by combating it with the humorous and immature.  First, warm up with the humorous with what I would say constitutes a line of trust that I am not willing to cross…

… then followed up with this refresher course on proper horse / equestrian terminology.  For example: " Feed - Expensive substance utilized in the manufacture of large quantities of manure." Moving on to the immature and sophomoric… Thanks to the #### writer’s strike, my favorite show, 24, is on hiatus…

So I am trying to hold off on joining Grandpa Simpson’s strikebreakers and rather catch up on some important facts about Jack Bauer that I bet you did not know.  For example, “There are three leading causes of death among terrorists. The first two are Jack Bauer, and the third one is heart attack from hearing Jack Bauer is coming for them.” 

Closing out the day’s ramblings is the critical “… and more” section promised in the post’s title, which this week can also be filed under the immature section.  And today we highlight horse racing in the Czech Republic.  Why and why is that immature? Read further… The three major races in the Czech Republic are the Ceske Derby, Ceske St. Leger and the Jarni Cena (2000 Guineas), which this year were won respectedly by Irish-bred Medeo, Polish-bred Savignon and German-bred Hanover Lady.  Last year’s Horse of the Year was steeplechaser Kolorado, the top 3yo colt and miler was De Roberto, the top older horse and sprinter was Scyris, and the best local bred horse was their 3yo filliy champion Vltava.  And why is that immature or even relevant? Because it allows G-t-W to say… “and speaking of the Czech Republic, here is another picture of Czech-born Denise Milani (most lately featured in Off Topic Friday).”
