What was it I was supposed to be witnessing again?

The 0 for 7 shooting in the first half?

The 25% shooting overall?

14 points scored, 6 of those in mop-up time.

Great player.

Witness.

I hope tonights game was a lesson for all the fans who picked the Cavs to win this series. The Spurs did what was expected, take Lebron out of his game and the Cavs lose.First FG at 7:12 in the third period, the Spurs defense is way to much for the Cavs. Dont get me wrong, this series has a long way to go and Im not saying it's over just yet but I dont see where the Cavs are going to get thier offense from. It could be a long learning experience for the Cavs.

Easy to say, jay, when your team is full of vets and the opposition has one star who's 22 years old.

Now, if we can just get James to complain like Duncan and flop like Ginobili . . . That would make him a triple threat?

Ricko

Why cant you just admit the Spurs are a great defensive team instead of making poor excuses about Duncan and Ginobili. Even Lebron didnt makes excuses like you just did.

ahhh rickooo.. still bitter i see --

Like the Spurs players & Coach, I give big props to Lebron and the Cavs for making it this far.

They are a very good team and are solid on defense. Unfortunately for them, they are a Great team who is the BEST on defense.

Cavs aren't used to seeing an offense that is as efficient at passing & penetrating as the Spurs -- that will be real difference in this series.

I expect LJ to have some bigger games, but in the end, they just can't stop Spurs from scoring. TP and TD will get whatever they want whole series.. and we haven't even unleashed Manu to take over a game yet.

Look for Finley and Manu to be big in Game 2.

"Witness" the greatness that is the Spurs team defense.

"Expect" to see more of the same.

gospursgo & JBnSA-I have said the Spurs were a great team many times, and that Duncan was a great player. Sorry you didn't catch that. I have written that, commented that, and said it on the blogger's radio show hosted by Frank the other night.

My comment to jay was basically saying how much intelligence does it take to bash LeBron James when he has nothing else around him. As far as I could tell, the Cavs were in the game pretty much the whole way. With James basically ineffective, how did the GREAT Spurs (and well-rested, I might add) not win by 30 on their home floor?

Just curious.

Lighten up, folks.

The reason the Spurs didn't win by 30 is because their offense wasn't executing well. They missed many open jumpers, and turned the ball over on some lazy passes. Defense kept them in the game until they were able to put together a run in the third.

Ricko, I'm not posting to measure intelligence. I'm just talking trash about LeBrick during the Finals. I'm sure I'll get it right back if he goes off for 40+. Then we'll all be forced to read blogs titled, "Witness the King!" and "We are All Witnesses! Long Live the King!".

It's just fun to point out that the "King" is reduced to an ordinary player when he goes up against a good team for a change.

This blogger is a New Yorker, born and raised. I'm a huge sports fan, following pretty much every major sport out there. Sadly, this does not include hockey, NASCAR, or boxing. Hockey lost my affection during the lockout, NASCAR is not a sport, and boxing has become incredibly boring since the dawn of MMA. If you want to talk football, baseball, basketball, or MMA, then I'm your man. I could also debate NASCAR with anyone, but we would probably end up just going around in circles...
