Les Miles is a butterface. Go Buckeyes!
Dec 12, 2007 | 10:49AM | report this

It has been a struggle for me to pick a side in the BCS Championship game. As a Michigan fan, do I root for Les Miles and LSU to beat the Buckeyes?  You know, to put Sweatervest's championship game record at 1-2?  Or do I root for The Senator and boys to try to put the SEC in their place?  This is quite easy.

As you know, the University of Michigan is looking for a head football coach.  What a scene it is when LSU, coached by a Michigan alum, is playing Ohio State for all the marbles.  Get this, there are actually media members, and of course, paranoid LSU fans, who think Michigan is trying to harm LSU's chances of beating Ohio State.  Were these people born yesterday?  So you're telling me, Michigan is going to HELP Ohio State win a national championship, just so the Buckeyes have something else to hold over Michigan's heads?

Les Miles is a classic Butterface case.  You know, Butterface.  You see this girl walking towards you.  Oh, things look promising.  Wow, she is smoking hot.  What a body!  As she gets closer, your heart begins to race.  You try to keep your composure.  And then, it happens.  That drop dead gorgeous girl turns out to be a butterface.  Her face is just hideous.  She had everything!  BUT-HER-FACE!

Looks can be decieving boys.  With all this desire over Les, you would think the guy would be a coaching legend.  But, last time I checked, there are no statues of Les Miles being built.  Les Miles isn't on my wish list for the next Michigan coach.  LSU, please keep him!  The guy was outcoached by Rich Brooks and Houston Nutt this year, so how bad is Jim Tressell going to embarrass Miles?

To top this whole saga off, let me introduce you to Skip Bertman.  He is LSU's athletic director.  Oh, sorry.  Since Skip is in the all to mighty SEC, we shall give Skip proper respect.  Is it Skippy?  Mr. Skip?  Skip to my Lou?  Hop Skip and a jump?  I'll just call him ####, something we can all agree on.

#### gave Michigan athletic director Bill Martin permission to speak to Les Miles, but asked Martin to wait until after the SEC Championship game.  Martin, being a classy Big Ten gentleman, obliged.  Then news yesterday spread that, GASP, Miles had spoken to Michigan.  Traitor!  How could he?  He promised!  Oh, that Bill Martin!  Les is staying Bill, leave him alone!  Leave Les Alone!  Tears, many tears.

So #### issues a press release and in it he says that LSU is a better job than the Michigan job.  Debatable, but what do you expect him to say?  The guy is trying to keep the coaching legend ( snicker ) that is Les Miles from heading back to his alma mater.  I mean LSU is full of tradition, national championships, the works.  What's that?  I know, don't tell the people that believe this that more people have said the Michigan job is better.  Even with Michigan hardly doing anything the last 10 years, and LSU having the chance to win a second BCS championship game, most people IN THE KNOW ( and that's not you or me)  say Michigan would be a better job than LSU.  But LSU's in the SEC, which makes them automatically better.  Case closed.

So, I hope Miles stays at LSU.  I hope he makes more head scratching gameday decisions.  I actually hope he makes a coaching blunder in the BCS title game.  Then all these whiners who want Michigan to leave Les alone will have their way.

They will be crying for losing to a Big ten team in the title game.  They will blame Michigan and Miles.  But hey, you saw what you were getting when you wanted to keep Les.  You're now stuck with the butterface.  That is something to cry about.

Hoit, I first have to say the butterface statement is atleast funny if nothing else. As for the "vest" out coaching the Hat, that's very possible. Thing is the team has to execute the plays and out play a better LSU team. A team that has been in and seen more war than OSU this year atleast. I'm in no way saying LSU will blow them out but I do think they'll win. Great Blog and good luck to Michigan because if anyone needs luck it will be them when they face a much better Fla. team.

Long time no see gambitx...haha. I try to use humor, sometimes it works for me. As for the BCS game, I think it's close one. If LSU puts all that talent together like they did against VA Tech, it will be deja vu for the Buckeyes in the title game.

Yeah, I think my Wolverines are in for a rough time against Florida. Maybe they play their #### off for Lloyd in his last game, but this team has been one disappointment after another this year. I'll keep my expectations low, and hope they prove me wrong.

Nice read, hoit...

All right, you can do without Miles... The logical question is, who would you like to see coach the Wolverines back to glory? Petrinos gone, lol... I'm not up on all the possibilities.

Later!

Hoit, I don't understand what all the hub-bub is about Les Miles anyway. I believe Michigan can do better, but with all the semi-secret phone calls going on how can Michigan save face? I am really dumb. I thought Miles said he was staying at LSU. I thought he just signed a contract extension after the SEC Championship game. I thought Michigan offered to Schiano. I am cornfused. What the hell is going on in Ann Arbor?

oldskewler and hoit, it sounds to me if Bill Martin was calling Miles (of which I do not for a second believe) to ask for assistance on hiring a coach. Then maybe the A.D. has no clue as to what he is doing. Like I said in my blog maybe he should have retired as well.

hoit, butterface is classic, just classic. I don't know of any LSU fans that were frantic or upset with Michigan or anything else. I know of none and most of us were like "if he leaves he leaves." Why? Because many of us felt that if Miles left LSU ws going to be in a position to get a better coach. The domino effect.

I wrote a blog on Schiano and how he blew it by not taking or even talking to Michigan. It is a premiere job in college coaching. If I were Michigan I would ask Mariucci or Jon Gruden. They would be very good college coaches.

Hiya Hoit,

First off why not put da blame for this fiasco where it rightly belongs Lloyd Carr. If he would have resigned last year as so many fans wanted, alot of this would never have happened. Also his timing of annoucing his resignation had alot to do with his dislike of Miles. Lloyd has to be havin the biggest laugh over all this, he gets to screw with Michigan and Les Miles at the same time! Whether Miles stays or goes doesn't really matter!Unlike some , I will still respect him for the good job he has done at LSU. Maybe if he does jump ship, he can wear a sweater hat. But neither Michigan nor LSU deserve to have a coach that doesn't know where he wants to coach.

Hoit, I know Go Buckeyes is hard to say. But Les Miles is not a good fit for Michigan. Michigan is a class school thats wins college football games and still has such a high academic stadard that Les Miles would surely fudge the name and reputation. All other conferences can keep their me only coachs. I'd be happy if we forgot about other conferences if they continue to set the course of lying about qualifications, coach's who've shown only the interest they have is only themselves. Spurrier, Saban, Miles are the main ones.

Her's wishin Michigan the greatest coach, not just sports wise, but education too.

Hey Dwindy. I'd love Brian Kelly to coach at U of M. The guy is a winner and has had great success in the state of Michigan at previous jobs. I'm also intrigued by Rick Nuehisal (sp).

Bill Martin has failed skewer. He has known since September, at least, that Lloyd would be gone. By the way he has gone about this, you would have thought that Lloyd told him out of the blue. Martin is really catching some heat, I can't imagine how he's going to save face here.

Bill Martin is becoming a joke gambitxx. Too bad for Michigan fans, it's not funny.

Mooch would be an awesome pick bayou. Gruden is intriguing also. I just don't know what is taking Bill Martin so long. He said he's in no rush and that the right guy will get the job. Our recruiting is getting hurt worse and worse every day.....I don't get why Martin is getting off easy here.

I don't think Carr would try to hurt U of M cajun. He's going to stay on and still have an office and be around the program for years to come. Lloyd has a ton of input into who his predecessor will be, and you're right, his dislike for Miles is probably why Miles won't get hired at U of M.

Yeah Marty. I know we're Big Ten guys, but I love Tressell, Joe Pa, coaches like that. The guys who stick by their words, stick up for their players. Those SEC coaches seem like they will bark for an extra buck or two.

hoit..good stuff. I just hope you don't look at my avatar (alma mater) and delete my comment..LOL!! I grew up a Tar Heel fan..and still follow them religiously in both basketball and football. We were sort of going thru the same ordeal with Butch this season. There were grumblings going around about him leaving for Arkansas. He addressed the issue..and yet still never said "I'm not leaving UNC". He just said "I love my job here at UNC". In the end, he did sign an extention with UNC..though I'll be surprised if he stays more than two to three seasons. Hiring coaches in basketball and football has gotten to be nothing more than a giant soap opera...and many unethical twists and turns, from both the schools biding to hire them, and the coaches themselves. I see that only getting worse in the coming years, as parity seems to be making its way around college sports.

BTW..AppSt plays Delaware tommorrow night for the National Championship. Have you seen Delaware's unis? You might want to check them out...erie!! I hope you'll be rooting for the Apps..LOL!!!

Knock knock.
Who's there?
Funny.
Funny Who?
Funny Hoit, thats who!

Butterface. Classic dude. Awesome blog from one of the only scUM fans I can stand. Since I started blogging, I have become more and more interested in defending the Big Ten and not just the Buckeyes. Kudos to your attitude regarding the title game. I can guarantee you that I would be rooting for _ichigan if they were playing an SEC team in a national title game. I will be pulling for them FOR SURE this year v. The gators. If there is one team I hate more than the Skunkbears it is the Gators! Actually, I hate Miami more than both of those teams combined. Enough with my issues!

The Miles circus is ridiculous. I have no idea what went wrong or who is responsible, all I can tell you is that it needs to stop. It isn't fair to the players or the other coaches who are trying to prepare for games and proactively recruit top talent. It is plain aweful.

Now part of me wants UM to hire daffy ####ing duck, so OSU can win another 4 in a row, but I want The Game to stay interesting so Treseel needs somebody in Maize & Blue with a headset on that can challenge him. Their next coach has a job @ WVU right now.

Butterface. I have seen one too many. Happy Holidays skunkbear boy.

Hoit...this was hilarious! I hope Michigan gets the coach they want. You all deserve it. The great thing about Carr being involved in the coaching selection is that his class and intellect will make sure that the new HC is a good fit. I don't think Miles would be a good fit. Michigan has always had excellent coaches (except for one) and I think this search will take some time, if they haven't already gone with Les. (which I think they have)

Good luck against the Gators. The Gators' D isnt very good, but man, they have loads of talent and a great coach. Their only weakness is inexperience in the secondary...let's see if Henne can light it up. We know Tebow will! Good luck! :)

I've seen Delaware's uni's fatmaw, they've obviously got outstanding taste! I'll root for you guys tomorrow, 3 in a row would be quite a feat. Good luck.

Pete, my fellow Big Ten brother. First off, what did you do with our boy Rev? Did him and BGL go on a rendezvous (sp?) and not invite me? I'm hurt. Some nice zings could be shot between the Reverend and myself anticiapting the Gators-Wolverines contest January 1.

As far as the next coach for Michigan, Bill Martin better have some great plan here, because the guy is losing credibility faster than Ohio State loses championship games. Am I right or am I right? Happy Holidays buddy.

Ah yes, summerteeth. Another great reference in comparison with butterface, gottago.

LISE! Hello there. I'm thinking it's all over for Les and U of M, but until a new head coach is named, the debate rages on.

Bill Martin better hit a homerun with whomever he hires, because from my point of view he is causing a lot of pain, anger and anguish for Michigan fans with this whole process.
