Sick and Tired...........
Feb 07, 2006 | 5:56AM | report this

I just want to make a couple of comments regarding this weekend's Super Bowl.  I've been reading an awful lot of blogs regarding this, and honestly, I am tired of the back and forth between bloggers.  So I'm going to lay it on the table on both sides of the ball.

Seattle, I know you guys feel robbed.  But you need to suck it up and get ready for next year.  Although the players may feel it wasn't a fair game, they haven't publicly come out and said so.  So follow suit, and LET IT GO!!!  We all know (some Steelers fans included) that there were some horrible calls made.  But as a Super Bowl contender, it was your responsibility to overcome all the adversity and take the refs out of the game.  Jeremy Stevens proved Porter right, at least for a day, and you missed SIX POINTS on kicks that your kicker could usually make.  You have a good team, and if Alexander is back, then more then likely you'll be back.  You're in the NFC, so it shouldn't be too hard. Just congratulate the Steelers and MOVE ON!!!!!  Such as life!

Pittsburgh, some of you fans are a trip.  You sit here and call Seattle "whiners" and all of that, but let it had been YOUR team that had all the bads calls and lost the game....It would've been WWIII out there.  All of you know that you would've called a conspiracy, and the country would've had your back.  Another thing, I'm glad the game is over now, so all of you fake bandwagon fans can go back to rooting for your REAL teams.  And for some of you bloggers that have added salt to the Seahawks wounds, how classy of you.  Just classy.  Put yourselves in their shoes, for one minute.  I bet you angry Steelers bloggers are the same ones that went to the refs house and trashed it after the divisional round, even though YOU WON!!!!

So, with that said, we all have opinions about the game.  I'm not a fan of neither team.  But the going back and forth doesn't change the outcome of the game.  Even if the NFL comes out and admits to all of the mistakes it made, they won't replay the game.  #### happens sometimes.  Now, the slate is clean, and all of our teams have to strive for next year.  So good luck to everyone for the 2006 season.

You can't claim to be a fair mediator, laying it out for both sides as you said, and lash out at the Steeler fans while comforting the Hawk fans, it's called being hypocritical. Though I agree that there were some bad calls and everyone needs to just shut up and prepare for next year.

There's nothing hypocritical about my blog. if it doesn't apply to you, if you aren't one of the fans I am talking about, then why make a statement? I said what I had to say about BOTH sides. I didn't comfort one Hawk fan. I specifically said they didn't take the game away from the refs and they should've done better. Not once did I say they were robbed, like everyone else has.

Does using bold letters add to your reasoned opinion? If you can find the HTML code for the color pink, you should use that for the Seattle Seahawks. Suits their fans personalities.

FYI, the article has been slightly altered, since some of you seem to think I am catering to one side, and not the other. I hope it calms your nerves a little, since everyone is so worked up over a game that no one seemed to actually play in.............

Hill: I don't think you're babying us, and you are repeating what I have said since yesterday. It's done, it's over, if the league apologizes and gets to work on the officiating problem, so much the better. If not, oh well. Those of us who are true fans on each side are trying to move on, and those who are pouring salt in the wounds (again on BOTH sides) should just put a cork in it and get on with their real lives (assuming they have one). This is not good for anyone. Thanks for saying what you did.

Thanks for appreciating my comment. Already, I write this and people think I'm picking sides. Just let it go.

Very well said Hill. Too much is being made about a mediocre Super Bowl. Both teams played horribly, and aside from Parker's Super Bowl record setting run, and Randle El's trick play, there was nothing exciting to watch in this game.

The officiating sucked for sure, and helped Pittsburgh more than Seattle, which is what I have said time and time again in my comments on other blogs, but Seattle did enough to beat themselves as well with the dropped passes, missed field goals, and turnover in the redzone.

Thanks Hill, good post that sums it up. I've been reading through some of these blogs too and am sink and tired of Seattle whining and Pittsburgh being hypocrites for calling Seattle whiners.

Well said...I have been so disgusted by all the back and forth on the blog...that I haven't read a single article until today.

It's Wednesday, and still people are airing it out. When will it end?

Proof that people crave controversy more than great sports. Why is nobody talking about the Duke/UNC game last night? Move on everyone.

I've been fairly well, thanks for asking. Beside the fact that my Seahawks took the defeat that is. Anyway, I couldn't agree with you more about taking a break from the blog world. All this nonsense that's been taking place just has me wondering what type of people I'm actaully communicating with on here. It seems that all they want to do is argue.

I'll check in ever now and then and see if the blog world has moved on from the bickering. When the draft comes around we'll have to compare the Ravens to the Seahawks and see who wins out in the draft. You up for it?

hillhubbo...you got your blog. i hate going to other's blogs to tell them to check out my new one...makes me sound desperate. But my blog never shows up on the front page...so no one ever knows I have written one. Don't quite understand that...but I'll just have to keep writing. So check it out.

Yo, hills, Carnac here. I read this post and then the comments and was surprised at the assault from both "sides". Indeed, the refs forgot to show up... just like the teams. This SB reminded me of the Giants/Ravens one a few years back -- uninspiring for the most part.

I just put up something about the game that is not hate-related as far as the officials and the game itself go. I do poke fun at the media circus and over-hyped TWO WEEK gap before the Big Game.

And this is for fatmaw1 -- the trick is to just put ONE category in the "category" field and then submit (i.e. NFL, NBA, MBL, etc.). This should get your post to show up (it HAS to be one of the 6 main categories on FOX's categories page).

After it posts you can then go back and "edit" your posting. Go back to the bottom "categories" field and enter as much else as you like, hit "add", and then "post blog". Then your other categories will show up for those searching for something in particular. Good luck.

You're OK with the Stillers winning it? That's real progress. I was pulling for Balt the year they won it. Heck, I even used to date a Cowboy fan. Never heard from a chick who actually wanted to be a sideline reporter ... but I like watching them.

Not okay with it, but life goes on. We play them hard every season, so I'm proud of my team knowing that they can beat the Champs. Yeah, I'll be the next Suzy Kolber in about 5 years. Look our for me :)

Just read your comment on the other side, thanks. Here in Harrisburg, we have lots of ravens, eagles, redskins, stiller fans. I like your writing style. Can't take too much of this name calling stuff ..
