Many things are stirring up to be big in NASCAR. We have Toyota and their fight to become successful in the sport. We have the top-35 for 2007 that will switch over from last year. We also will have the Car of Tomorrow!! I am really excited for all these events to happen. I can't wait for the first COT race!! I am going to conduct a NASCAR analysis after the Bristol Motor Speedway race, March 25th. The race report will cover:
1. Toyota and NASCAR
How are they doing? Do we see hope for Toyota in the future? Will they mimick how Toyota in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series started and is currently? Where do all the cars place in points?
2. COT (Car of Tomorrow)
How did the COT do on it's first race? Do we see good racing with the COT?
3. NASCAR 2007
How has the year been? Good? Bad? Who is looking good for the year? Which single-car team will do the best this year?
I hope to have this written sometime in the next week after the Bristol Motor Speedway race on March 25th. I hope you all are interested in the report!! I will cover stats, my opinion, and expert opinions as well. Thank you for reading this post and if you have any comments, post below!!
These are my picks for the 2007 UAW Daimler-Chrysler 400:
1. Jimmie Johnson
Jimmie Johnson won the race on the last lap last year. I think he can at least replicate something close to this tomorrow.
2. Mark Martin
Good ole' Mark Martin. He is doing so well this year. He looks like he is having so much fun in the process. He will perform in Las Vegas like he has all year.
3. Matt Kenseth
Kenseth blew the competition at California. Matt lost this race on the last lap last year, but maybe a win this year? We will see.
4. Kasey Kahne
Kasey is just simply fast on these tracks. That is all I have to say!!
What are your picks? Post below and again thanks for reading my post!!
As this is an opinion blog, I should express my opinion. Here is my take on the crash that occurred during the closing laps of the Motorola Telcel 200 in Mexico City, Mexico. My take is that Montoya made a mistake.
Watch the video below after reading this, unless you just want to see the video. If you see the two cars enter turn one, you see that Pruett has the lead, but Montoya catching him going into the corner. The finishing result of this is Montoya hitting the right-side rear panel of Pruett's car, spinning him out. If the #42 car was further up on Pruett, then of course the position should go to Montoya. Montoya hit the corner of that rear panel which shows visually that he forced the issue of trying for another position. This was definitely Montoya's fault. Scott Pruett did nothing wrong. Honestly I believe that Montoya would have won the race. It was only a matter sof time. He should have been more patient however. This is a mistake he just needs to evaluate and learn from. It was not intentional or because of anger. He just made a mistake, hitting his teammate and all!! Congratulations on his first win though. He raced what I call a race!!
NOTE: I thought of this while typing this. I think this community that has been created is really cool and I really appreciate everybody who wants to read my blog. I usually create blogs that fail, that function like this one, partly because no one is interested. I just think that it is cool that people want to read my blog. Thank you!!
After observing the Mexico race this weekend and seeing all these different tracks (Canda), I was wondering.......what races do you guys like to watch most?
I personally love to watch the following races:

Daytona 500/Talladega racing (of course)
I just love Daytona. I love restrictor-plate racing. The racing is so close and the wrecks are awesome!! This year's Daytona 500 was no exception.

2. Racing at Martinsville
Most people would choose Bristol over Martinsville any day, but I absolutely love the racing at Martinsville. You got bumping, aggression, close racing which brings so much fun while watching the race. Don't get me wrong, racing from Bristol is great too, but I think Martinsville is sometimes just as good!!

3. Road Course Racing
Road Course racing with NASCAR is a little different than road racing with other series. It presents different challenges for the teams which is literally fun to watch. I attended the Infineon race, the Dodge/SaveMart 350, which was a blast to watch.
I love to watch all NASCAR racing though. These are just my favorites. Again, what are guy's favorite races to watch?!!
Well, our first test during the 2007 of NASCAR has concluded a day ago. It presented some challenges for the teams, the main one being the splitter and the fact that it hits the ground (at least at Bristol), slowing the car down. The teams who kept the splitter as close to the track without hitting were probably seeing good test results. Denny Hamlin, driver of the #11 FedEx Chevrolet looked very strong during the whole entire testing session, both morning and evening testing. Kasey Kahne also looks pretty strong. Probably the most exciting and suprising test was of the #4 State Water Heaters Chevrolet driven by Ward Burton. He had a very strong night test session. Even Kenny Wallace posted good times during the evening tests.

Now about the COT: I think the car is becoming liked a lot more by the teams and general reaction from the fans seems to be satisfactory. The inspection station that debuted at the test seemed pretty cool to me also!! I think that Bristol is actually a good place to debut the car as well. I think it will just take time, as many things do in NASCAR, to produce the racing that we may see today. What do you think of the COT? Do you think it is a good idea to begin with? Do you see a good future with the COT? If you would like to comment about this article or of the COT, post a comment below. Thank you so much for reading my post!!
With about 8 laps remaining in the Auto Club 500, David Ruetimann recorded one of the hardest wrecks that have ever been recorded in NASCAR. It started when the #16 of Greg Biffle tapped the back of the #00 Domino's Pizza Toyota causing David to hit the wall. David overcorrected a little to much which unfortunately cause him to face the wall head-on. Overall, it was a very hard hit!! During the crash, David was unable to breath for a brief period of time. His left foot is also badly bruised after it got hung up in the pedals of the car. David is doing fine though and plans to run the Busch Series race in Mexico.
I think Jimmie will do well here at California. He is showing well in practice.
2. Kyle Busch
I think Kyle is going to do well also. I think he has matured and can race smartly to a good finish.
3. Matt Kenseth
Matt Kenseth, in fact all Roush-Fenway cars, are good on these tracks. I think that Matt will show that in the race.
4. Greg Biffle
Greg Biffle is my pick to ultimately win the race. I think he is really good here and can really win this race. If nothing goes wrong like an engine or other major problem, he can win this thing.
What are your guy's picks. Comment below and thank you for reading my post!!
