Kobe Bryant: MVP ?
May 08, 2008 | 12:56PM | report this

Kobe Bryant won his first MVP but did he diserve it?

No. Why?

Because Chris paul took the hornets a team that hasent done anything in how long and made them major contenders and he DID do it singlehandedly.

Dont even get me started on what Lebron james has done for cleveland in just 5 years. In the playoffs four of those five years. won an eastern conference championship last year and made it to the finals in a shorter time than jordan i might add.

lets not forget about Garnett, pierce allen and the celtics.

so concidering all this why Kobe Bryant ?

Well as far as i can tell it is exactly as some people have said a lifetime achivement award.

Lets not forget also thta he is the NBA's biggest cash cow. there were certainly players that had better seasons than he did and because of that the voting should NOT have been so lop sided. but it was. kinda makes you wonder huh ?

The main reason why Bryant got th award and he was deserving of it. It was primarily after all these years the NBA writers felt that they were justified in giving it to him.

However though he's performed statistically better in other years when he'd placed either second or third on the ballot.
To my mind this was done to clear their conscience somewhat.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because of Eagle, Colorado.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he trashed Andrew Bynum and criticized Jerry Buss and Mitch Kupchak.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he is a ball-hog.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he is selfish.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he was "living in Shaq's shadow". R1G

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he was responsible for trading Shaq.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he is not as good as Lebron or CP3.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he demanded to be traded.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he tanked in Game 7 versus the PHX SUNS two years ago.

Kobe Bryant doesn't deserve MVP because he is a global conglomerate all by himself.

But the REALITY IS, KOBE is MVP.

The LAKERS ASSAULT CONTINUES...

Why didnt he deserve it? Your argument is that Paul took the Hornets a team that has not done anything in how long and made them major contenders. Oh and he did it singlehandedly. Although his ppg was 21.1 and David Wests was 20.6. So there goes the singlehanded comment out the door. The Hornets record last year was 39-43. The Lakers were 42-40. Not much of a difference. Kobe MVP!!!

Lebron is the biggest cash cow, or do you not watch the commercials during games? Do you read sports magazines?

Kobe 82 first place votes
Paul 28 first place votes
Garnett 15 first place votes
Lebron 1 first place votes

Kobe is by far the clear-cut winner. It wasn't even close. I guess all those professionals that voted didn't know what they were talking about.

CP3 just got 28 first place vote, barely making the 30% equivalent of the 82 votes garnered by Kobe. Is that what you call deserving MVP?

Awww...you and Howard found love!

That's sweet.

You "diserve" each other.

A couple of strange looking bedfellows,
"kinda makes you wonder huh?"

Lewis & Gilbert....where's Booger?
