Honestly, the loss of Ramar Smith and Duke Crews really isn't that big of a deal other than the fact that it limits Tennessee's depth for next year.
Smith was a part of Bruce Pearl's biggest issue last season, anyway. Poor point guard play.
Crews never lived up to the expectations when he was landed as a big-time recruit out of Virginia.
Both were kicked off the team by Pearl yesterday. Sources told FOXSports.com that Smith was booted for failing multiple drug tests - including one during the NCAA tournament - while it was numerous issues that prompted Pearl to boot Crews from the team.
Now the Vols will likely go with either J.P. Prince or freshman Daniel West. I haven't seen West play, but I've heard some good things about the Saginaw (Mich.) native - and personally, I'm not sure the long 6-foot-6 Prince can run the point on a full-time basis for a Top 10 caliber team, anyway.
UT still has Wayne Chism and Brian Williams up front - with Tyler Smith as one forward. Look for Scotty Hopson to step right in and start right away on the wing, Prince at the other wing and potentially West from day one at the point.
