DAWKINS CHOICE A TOUGH ONE TO CALL
Apr 26, 2008 | 5:59PM | report this
Back home after a long day (caught some of one New England Playaz AAU game in Providence, then headed to the zoo and then Dave & Buster's arcade).

- Not sure what to make of the Johnny Dawkins hire by Stanford to be honest. He's a Duke guy, so he fits the profile. But Dawkins has basically been invisible on the recruiting trail, so it's almost like hiring an NBA coach - but without the head coaching experience. To me, I'm not sure that a Chris Collins wouldn't have been a better selection for the Cardinal if Bob Bowlsby was going the Duke route.

- Here's a little recap of some of the guys who made decisions today and late yesterday.

- Darren Collison - will return to UCLA and won't even test the NBA waters.

- Davon Jefferson - Will sign with an agent and is gone after one fairly unspectacular season at USC. No surprise there. In fact, I even said it after he told everyone he was coming back to school that it would change.

- Danny Green - Just think about the fact that Tyler Hansbrough isn't testing the NBA waters, but Danny Green is. It's almost comical, isn't it?

- Lee Cummard - I actually really like BYU's long and versatile junior. In fact, I think he'll be a much better NBA player than his teammate, Trent Plaisted.

- Jerel McNeal - He'll get a few quality free meals and then be back at Marquette.
