FAU CANDIDATES; TWO EMERGE AT MARIST
Apr 14, 2008 | 7:15AM | report this

Now that Rex Walters has left Florida Atlantic for San Francisco, there should be no shortage of candidates to replace him in Boca Raton, Fla.

Here are three guys who could be in the mix:

- Former St. John’s coach Mike Jarvis, who lives less than five miles away from the campus.
- Georgia Southern head coach Jeff Price
- FAU assistant coach Mike Balado, who was at Miami Dade and is a South Florida native.

MARIST HAS TWO FRONT-RUNNERS

St. Benedict’s (N.J.) coach Dan Hurley is the latest to withdraw from Marist, following Villanova’s Brett Gunning and Georgetown’s Robert Burke.

That leaves Pittsburgh assistant Tom Herrion and Memphis assistant Chucky Martin as the two front-runners.
