Right. I have held it in all season and with what he did this past weekend, ABC/ESPN needs to get rid of him.
I am tired of listening to his screechie voice and his biased opinion about college football. I am a Michigan fan and I know the Big Ten stinks. The best conference is the country is the SEC hands down. However, Herbie thinks the BIg 10, especially Ohio State is the best in the world.
If I wasn't a Michigan fan I would still dislike him. He is a ####.
He was a standout table tennis player and started just his senior year in football!!

goblue37 - I totally agree with you! Herbie should take Flutie and the "Pony" (Craig James) with him! Those guys totally suck, though they make Lou Holtz semi-intelligible. There is a defintely a heavy "East Coast" bias amongst the "College Gameday" crew. I't like watching SEC promotional material.
While they're at it, ABC/ESPN should get rid of Reece Davis and Jesse Palmer too. Don't know how Palmer parlayed a mediocre playing career into a talking head. This guy has no credibility.
As for Reece, he tried to pick a fight with Hawai'i coach June Jones during their BCS announcement show and came off looking stupid AND ignorant. Both Herbie and Mark May were inflamed by Jones' comments, though the Pony had sense enough to agree with Corso and Holtz.
These losers have to go! Bring back Rod Gilmore! (lol)

dang...i totally agree with rjm's comments...I have caught Palmer saying dumb things like, "and he ran back the kick return", which is lame in itself grammatically, but it was a punt return as well. He drives me nuts. (but he is HOT...if u guys get Erin, we get Jesse) Herbie also kisses the SEC's butt though, seriously, although no one was worse than Trev Albert.....I actually miss him....at least he was intelligent.
Go OSU! Your just jealous that he says Go OSU instead of Go BLUE. But you are right in a way. Herbie isn't a good analyst. And should be kicked of the Shows.
I suppose they should replace him with Desmond.
Miles stayed at LSU because he wants to win some titles. There aren't too many blue-chippers in the UP.
I am upset that scUM didn't get Miles though. I was all set for LLLLLLoyd Part Deux.
Although I am not a big fan of any of the College Football Gameday cast on ESPN, nor a fan of ESPN at all, I have to disagree with the remarks that Kirk thinks the Big 10 or Ohio State is the greatest or has an obvious slant to them.
Granted, he is an alum and former player for OSU, but he is not as endeared in Buckeye Nation as many would probably think. I think sometimes, in his effort to show his impartiality towards Ohio State, he goes to the other extreme and plays "devil's advocate" against them, which has riled many fans of Ohio State, whether right or wrong.
Otherwise, good blog, and other than Chris Fowler and possibly Lee Corso, I have seen other writers here on the blogs who could fill in just as well, if not better. lol
I am sick of you Michigan people that claim to have rights to the prestige of College Football. Nebraska may have had there time with a Mediocre Coach. I think that Kirk is a GREAT Commentator. I would have to pick Trev as my Defensive Captain but Kirk would be my First Round Draft Quarterback!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim Tressel has taken a rebuilding yr. into a national championship yr. I do not what to here any cry babies say how soft ther schedule was, O.S. was not expected to win more than 7 games. They we'er ranked 3rd in the big ten confence. The played in a conference that had 11 teams and only ONE team had a losing record. This will be our 3rd trip to the national title game in 6 yrs. Any other team out there can claim that. In 6 Bowl games he has taken us to 5 BCS bowl and we have one 4-1 recored.
I think Craig James needs to go along with Lou Holtz. These two guys are very hard to take seriously. Holtz needs to go enjoy his grandkids, he still thinks ND is a good football school. He is embarassing himself. I have grown tired of ESPN thinking they are it. I find myself watching something else until kick-off. Too much gum-flapping by individuals with too much bias.
College Gameday blog #2 of the day. Its entertainment people, let it go. You are showing your bias by accusing any of the College GameDay crew of being biased. They arent always giving their own opinion on the show d-mb -ss! They are suppose to go back and forth at each other and disagree as part of the show. You people kill me. I said it before about beating up on Jessie and Kirk for being female eye candy. Are you people really crying about 2 guys being put on TV for their looks? kirk herbstreit is like a 6 year old. he'll get defensive when ohio state's skills are questioned, and he will be biased against any team that is prominent in the national title picture. he honestly ruined the holiday bowl this year (not the first game). his biased opinions ruins SPORT and attacks any team that is considered good. please stop acting like a 6 year old and ESPN NEEDS TO DO SOMETHING about such immature childish behavior. he's old enough to hear bad stuff about his alma mater without forcing the nation to hear about how great he thinks ohio state is. freaking big 10 blows. get a conference championship game. and play a good team for a change. oh and beat good team on your way to a national title game.

Kirk Herbstreit is the best college football analyst right now. Fowler is a close second. Corso is comic relief, you can't take him seriously. College Gameday is the best college football show. The analysts on CBS stink. The only games they cover are SEC and that's all they know. They aren't educated on what's going on in the rest of the country. Buster Tillman drives me crazy.
FOX is new to college and it shows. Their analysts are horrible, and the guys doing the BCS announcenents every week are the NFL guys. They do not do their homework, nor do they watch the college games.
ESPN/ABC has the corner on the market in college football. Are they perfect? No. But they are WAY better than the alternatives. Don't hate just because you don't like what they say about your team. I love Ohio State, but I can be objective enough to see the difference between an informed opinion against Ohio State and one not informed or full of bias.
