When the BCS standings came out today, it had the LSU Tigers and Oregon occupying the top two places in those standings. In the pre-season all the hype was on an USC and LSU matchup. There was alot of smack talk all over the internet between both sides homers. Things started looking real real bad when both LSU and USC lost a game. But now LSU has clawed it's way back to #1 and only two very winable games and the SEC championship game left in front of them.
This tiger is truely an animal on the defensive front.
Oregon just like LSU has two tough games, but should win out to help make the SEC vs Pac-10 game everyone who is an SEC homer like me wanted. Yeah I know it may not be the two teams we thought, or should I say hoped it would be. Nonetheless it is two very good teams and I would hope LSU would not take Oregon lightly.
This ones for the Duck fans.
Oregon is a very good team and won some realy tough games to get the respect that they deserve. Let's just pray that both teams win out and win Big. I know alot of other people will say "well what about an undefeated Kansas?" While I feel your pain, I just coudn't see any team playing you and still be able to get any respect for beating a B-ball school. We all know that's what the talk will be at the end if Kansas would play for a NC Title and lose. Everyone will say they didn't belong there or they wasn't ready for the "BIGTIME"! So I would much prefer an LSU and Oregon matchup, a game that would be sure to bring much hype with it.
VS
Hopeing for a "Big Easy" trip for both teams to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
If there is one thing that I learned this year though it's that anything can happen. I never thought I would ever see a season like this one in College Football. This is LSU second chance to prove it wants to earn the right to be called " Champions." Not many teams get that chance so this time around they must take it more seriously. What a wonderful season so far in College Football and it's not over yet. This year will live on with great memories and some not so great ones either for the rest of my life. so in closing I will leave you with some pic's of some LSU hotties.
After another great week of college football and another upset of a high ranked team, we are all awaiting the new BCS rankings. The question is After a stunning ( to Eagles fans mostly) loss by #2 ranked Boston College, who should take their place? Should it be LSU who came into lastnights game against Alabama ranked #3 in the BCS poll? What about Oregon who was ranked #5 and put a convincing beatdown on the #4 and undefeated ASU? Then there is the Kansas Jayhawks. Who is undefeated and headed towards a Big12 showdown with more than likely Oklahoma. Should they move into second in the BCS rankings? All these teams have a legitimate claim to the Spot. But let's look at LSU and my thoughts.
LSU beat a very good Crimson Tide team. Once again though they had to come from behind to win it. Is that what a championship team looks like? A lot of Tiger fans think so. They have a good argument also as to why LSU belongs at #2. No team in CFB this season has played and beat as many top 20 teams as did the Tigers. They loss just one of those games against Kentucky in 3 O.T. to lose the #1 ranking that they held. Some say the SEC is the toughest to play in. Hey I'm an SEC guy and don't buy into that ####. No matter the conference you still have to play and win your games. There are tough teams in every conference. Especialy in this years season, which may go down as one of the wackiest but greatest seasons in history. Then there are the ones who just can't figure out why LSU is even in this horse race. Those people say LSU is overated and that they get lucky. That's a lot of luck for one season if you ask me. I see them as a team that no matter how far down they are, like a true championship team they get the job done in the end.
I do not buy into the overated #### that is usualy slung by fans of teams that just do not know much of anything about football. No team who is in the top 5 at this time is overated. They are there because they belong and have showed that each and every week. If LSU is an overated team then we would have to make that same assumption last year about Florida and that they did not belong in the NC game. They was there and they won convincingly against a good OSU team. Oh wait! was it OSU that may have been overated? Like I said it's #### and people will say that as long as it's not their team there. OSU belonged there and looks poised to be there again this year.
Now like I said I am an SEC guy, and a Tiger fan as I am sure you can see. But I'm no fool and would be just that if I said that Oregon, Kansas, OU or some other team did not belong at #2. I'm neither an expert nor some dumb number crunching computer that I wish would catch a virus that it never is able to recover from. So with all that said this is how I see the polls this week. If I am wrong and my Tigers stay where they are or drop, I'll be man enough to say that the other team belongs. I will not be on others blogs slinging #### in their teams face. So let the chips fall where they may and I will still be yelling "Geaux Tigers" each and every week. They may not look like a champion to you, but to me they are just that.
The perfect breakfast as I see it.
