I was never sold on the Cowboys being the best team in the NFL it takes more than talent to win games. The Bills a surprise team so far this season hasn't played anyone yet. Arizona who is another surprise team off to a 4-2 start is still, well Arizona. Denver has come back down to earth as of late but one team looks pretty strong and that the Titans.
Jeff Fisher has to be the best coach never to win a Super Bowl in my honest opinion. The defense is playing lights out and the offense is doing enough to win games. I think it's safe to say they'll go into a key game against Indy in two weeks with a 6-0 record after they face the lowly K.C. Chiefs this weekend.
Rookie RB Chris Johnson to me has been something this team lacked on the offensive side of the ball. He doesn't have but 2 TD's (due to LenDale White being the short yardage RB) the thing that stands out though is his 4.5 yds per rush average. He also has yet to turn the ball over in the Titans first 5 games.
Also what is very encouraging is the team hasn't lost a beat even though it's season starting QB Vince Young has had problems and was benched for whatever the reason was. They keep plugging ahead beating everything in it's path.
The D however is the heart of the Titans as they are ranked 5th against the pass and 13th against the run which equates to 4th in total defense. They play tough and keep QB's and O-lines confused and running. Albert Haynesworth is playing like a man possesed!
The teams they are scheduled to play after going to K.C. isn't easy and they still have to play Indy twice, however I just don't see them losing more than 3 games this season. After a week off barring any significant injuries this week against K.C. they should be relatively healthy when Indy visits them for a monday night game.
This team will win the AFC South and are my favorite to be AFC champions also. Right now all the talking heads on every network say the NFC is the stronger conference, I just don't see a team over there that can beat the Titans of the AFC.
Gambittxxx - Good article and good luck. I'm still not sold on the Titans as the Super Bowl represenative in the AFC. They have played a lot of home games, had a fairly easy schedule, and I'm not sure Kerry Collins is a SB QB at this point in his career.
That said I am on their bandwagon to make the playoffs and possibly earn a first round bye. They will be a tough out with that defense and Fisher as the coach, but I'm not sure that any team is complete enough to be a favorite this year.
The perfect breakfast as I see it.
