There is no doubt in anybody's mind (except a select few Spurs fans) that if San Antonio allows the Hornets to walk away with a win tonight then this series is all but over. The Spurs have to do more than just win though, although a win would go a long way to help rebuild their confidence if they allow New Orleans to keep it close it'll not be enough to keep them (Hornets) from coming into game four still confident they can win this series.
Let's face it the Hornets are already confident with a 2-0 lead on the defending champs. Not to mention they have blew the game wide open in the fourth quarter of both games. Add the fact that by winning both games at home it guarantees that this series ends in New Orleans no matter what and you have a real confident team.
Tony Parker is the key, if he keeps allowing Hornets PG CP3 to out play him on both ends of the court then they might as well throw in the towel and use the famouse words of one Roberto Duran when taking a pounding from Sugar Ray Leanord and yell to the refs "no mas" because that's what this has become...a beat down!
It seems the Spurs have no answer for the one -two punch of Chris Paul and David West. In game one David West torched the Spurs. When game two came around the Spurs put the handcuffs sort of speak on West but had no answer for Chris Paul who put up 30 points himself. Throw in the fact that Peja is hitting threes like he did in his days as a Sacramento King it's as if the Spurs have been punched in the mouth with a long stiff jab.
Although they are not K.O.'d yet just a few more blows and the 10 count could be in their forseeable future. Youth VS experience and so far the youth has landed the most punches. It's been a long and thrilling ride for the champs but I can't see them lasting to much longer in this fight to remain the undisputed NBA champions. Change is inevetable and it seems that time has come. It's time for a new team to start it's path to glory. That team just may be the New Orleans Hornets.
gmabitxxx You're going to make my head explode if you keep on pouring it on my Spurs like this. I know that we've looked bad thus far. Rumor has it that we're going to hire a couple of hooker to spend the night with Chris Paul and David West . So we can throw 'em off their game and weaken 'em physically. 'cause we sure as hell haven't been able to achieve that on the court in the series so far.
Good read gambit. Glad to see somebody from the N.O. representing on these blogs. Go Hornets! K.O. them tonite! Let the beating commence & make believers of the haters!
Yes, I would love to see the Hornets and Chris Paul win this series, however, don't write off the Spurs. Everyone is saying that this series is done and Chris Paul is amazing. Yes, he is a great player, but they are playing the DEFENDING WORLD CHAMPIONS. The Spurs are a great team and will not go away easily. They need to find a way to control the tempo of the game and they should be able to do that on thier home court. The Hornets are playing great, but watch out because the Spurs are very capable of coming back.
I have a hard time with this series because the Hornets played in OKC for 2 years so I like them a lot but I feel sorry for the Spurs getting embarassed because they are such proud and well run franchise. I will be happy and sad either way.
It's time for folks to realize the Hornets are for real. Tonight's a big test, and I am interested to see if Byron can stay one step ahead of Pop and the Spurs.
I think the peope who thought D-West wasn't an All-Star are thinking twice, and Kobe was deserving, but Paul should have been MVP.
oakland,
Haven't counted out the Spurs just yet. I think you may have misunderstood me my friend. I was speaking about them (Spurs) losing tonight or one of these games at home and I will then count them out.
Nique,
I am one of the people who just like you am sadened by the lack of effort by the Spurs. I never had the chance to say this but from me to you and everyone in OKC thx for supporting the Hornets and being some great fans. I think you folks deserve a team soon.
Did you just hear the song here or knew of it befor?
Fugee,
Been awhile Homie since I seen you. I been in the hospital for the past month fighten for my life. D-West was a good player even befor Paul. The young man was an all-american at Xavier U. and came into the league on fire till injuries hurt him those first two seasons. Kudos to the Hornets for seeing they had an All-star in the making just waiting to bust out of his shell.
I'll be surprised if the Spurs don't win these two home games. The Hornets played so well in the 1st two games, it would seem unlikely they can keep it at the same level on the road.
Thay being said, the matchups seem very good for the Hornets, and since the media says the Spurs will win that can only help the Hornets.
Good to hear your health is improving, we missed you while you were gone.
nba,
First let me say thank you for the well wishes. I truely appreciate that mon'ami.
Now as for the Hornets and the Spurs I think the Hornets will take one of these next few games thus setting the Spurs up for the K.O. blow back here in the Big Easy. I'm just exstatic about my Fav. team and my home teams success this season. It's been a good year so far with the exception of my condition but hey I'm still breathing and that's all that matters.
I had heard the song a few times but had no idea who did it. I just love it.
I got to see the Hornets play twice while they were here. I really miss them and don't want the Sonics. First off I don't like the color green and they will just lose almost all their games.
We have the Magic and the Rockets coming to our new Arena in Tulsa for a preseason game on Oct 13 and I'm going to see them. Maybe sometime the Hornets will come for a preseason game or someday I have the money to go to New Orleans to see them.
Yes that song is very good. He won a grammy for it and was written for the movie "Into the wild."
Sorry to hear you do not want the Sonics in OKC. A change of venue might change them into a winning franchise. Hopefully the Hornets can make it there for a pre-season game. I know you people showed great support for them and deserve to see them again. You should visit here someday. It's a great city with great food and plenty of party. We party here for any damn reason. We throw parties for Hurricanes that's one reason so many people were still here during Katrina. Retarded I know but that's how we are here in the "Big Easy"
gambitxxx It'd appear that hookers weren't necessary as Parker and Ginobli decided to step up their game. As can be evidenced by the box scores.
Now it's on to game 4 and hopefully we can replicate last night's play with the same sort of outcome.
Stifling defense and some timely play on the offensive side of the ball.
The perfect breakfast as I see it.
