For fans of OSU who are coming to new orleans...

If you are planning on visiting New Orleans for the NC game on January 7 Here is a list of some of the bars/nightclubs you may want to checkout before the big game.

Pat O'Brians-
718 Saint Peter St. in the French Quarter- This bar is a real nice place. It's also the home of one of the most famous alcoholic drinks in the city, the Hurricane. I suggest you try one but not to many or you'll knocked out drunk somewhere in an alley way and miss the game. That would be just horrible.

Crescent City Brewhouse- 527 Decatur st. in the French Quarter-
The Crescent City Brewhouse is one of New Orleans' premier restaurants and the only French Quarter microbrewery.

The atmosphere at the Crescent City Brewhouse is warm, relaxed
and festive with LIVE JAZZ performed nightly by local musicians ... and monthly exhibits of local art to compliment your total Brewhouse experience! This is for those who may like a more relaxed atmosphere. That is if they'll be such a thing that week.

The Cats Meow- No it's not a strip club though there is plenty of those in the quarters if that's what your into. This is the most famous Karaoke bar in the world. Even if that's not your type of hype trust me you need to visit this place. I promise you will have a good time laughing at the drunk fools looking like they are auditioning to be the next " American Idol"

Razzoo Bar and Patio-511 bourbon st. some consider this one of the best clubs on Bourbon st. Much like Cats Meow it has Karaoke but also it has live bands. It's also a much bigger place with more room to breath. There is a courtyard Bar with a bright fountain you can gaze at while in a drunken stupor.

Club Ampersand-1100 Tulane ave. This Is my personal Fav. If you like dancing then this is the place to be.
Inside the industrial setting of a former Whitney Bank in the Central Business District, Ampersand is a stylish club with an artsy European feel, featuring two levels, large dance floor, VIP Suite, a balcony, courtyard, and several cozy sitting rooms, one of which used to be the bank's vault.

The careful attention to aesthetics, both visual and auditory, offer guests a chance to experience Ampersand's reputation for its seductive and sexy vibe, while listening to the most exclusive global DJ talent rotation New Orleans has to offer. Voted the best dance club in New Orleans. If your a single guy the woman are hot also.

There are many more clubs and bars as that is what the French Quarter is mostly made up of. I'm sure you'll stumble and I do mean stumble into a few places you'll never forget. This is a great city, with a wonderful party atmosphere so enjoy it and please do return someday.

Warning : though this is a party city, please be careful as the Police are not to be fooled with. If you are caught doing things that you should not be like for instance fighting, let's just say you would rather run through hell with gasoline soaked underwear than be thrown in jail here.

As always I wish you a safe trip to the "Big Easy" and enjoy. Good luck to both the Tigers and Buckeyes.

Next- A look at some great Restaurants you may want to visit.

I've got some other advice. make sure to go see the Aquarium, the Zoo, and take a ride on the Natchez. All of it helps with rebuilding New Orleans. I'm not from there, but I love the place. Also, as you walk around the French Quarter, please try not to further displace the street signs which are already oftentimes pointing in the wrong direction (due to rowdy revelers), and also ladies remember that baring your breasts on bourbon street is not mandatory, but it will make you instantly popular. and one other thing. don't be afraid to spend money there. remember your dollars help their economy, and they need it.

Great information about your great city.

Still jealous.

What is the smoking/non-smoking policy ?
Since each state has adopted different rules?

hogger, was going to include those things but decided to wait and post that later as I have time befor the city is invaded by the Buckeye faithful. Thx for dropping in and commenting.

YeeMum, I'm sure one day you'll find the time and money to make it here. As for the smoking policy it's simple. As long as the bar/nightclub main product isn't food, then it's all good to smoke indoors.
