Shaun Marion is reporting he feels his time with the Phoenix Suns is past due. The report comes from the Arizona Republic the states official news paper. Marion has found his name in trade talks recently with the Utah Jazz and the Los Angeles Lakers. Marion told sporting news .com by phone that he would welcome a trade to the Lakers to be able to play with good friend Kobe Bryant. "You have a great organazation, great ownership there with the Lakers. I don't see any problem playing there." It would be a good move for both Marion and the Lakers to get a deal done. The Lakers could use another player that could score in bunches to help Kobe Bryant and Marion would probably go back to playing the position he is built to play. If the Lakers do not pull the trigger on this trade it will (Atleast I would think so) be another situation like the one with Jason Kidd... a very frustrated Kobe wanting out of an organaztion that refuses to get him some serious help. But making a trade for Marion would probably cost the Lakers Lamar Odom and are they willing to part with him is anybody's guess. Marion is the highest paid player on the Suns roster with two years remaining on his contract and rumor is he wants a three year extension worth $ 60 million that he would neither deny nor confirm. "Regardless of the extension talks, I'm tired of hearing my name in trade rumors" said Marion. "It's time for me to move on. I feel like they tried to force my hand to boston with the Garnett stuff." It's the nature of the bussiness. No one ever wants to leave a team they have had so much success playing for. If you Ask me the Lakers would be fools not to do whatever it takes to get Marion in a Laker uniform. As a huge Laker fan, I welcome the trade and Marion to the team. He would be a valuable asset to the Lakers going deeper in the playoffs than the last couple of years. Kobe needs help and although I love Derick Fisher, he is not the answer to L.A.'s playoff woes. We need someone with some serious skills and a aggresive aproach to the game. Marion can bring that to this team. He's a scorer and a great rebounder. Unlike some 7" foot people on this team who are panzies in my opinion. So I am asking other Laker fans on this site what do you think? Should they make the deal provided it doesn't cost to many players. Or should they stick to what they have? Never the less the NBA season hasn't started but it seems like things will be heating up soon. I Love this Game!
