This goes out to the media and all USC Homers who thought they were going to run the table from here on out. Stanford is due credit for playing ball till the final whistle. They didn't come into this game thinking they couldn't win because everyone including the media said they couldn't. This team deserved to win because they played with heart and believed and trusted in a backup QB who ultimatly got the job done. I would be a liar to say that I believed in them but what matters is they believed in themselves in spite of me or the rest of the country's belief. Now all I read everywhere from USC fans is that Booty is garbage. What about him being garbage when things looked so good for the mighty trojans. What a joke some fans can be. Let's face it he's the best QB you have and just didn't get the job done. If Pete Carroll changes QB's and USC goes on to lose two more games those same people who are now saying Booty is no good will be the same ones wondering why he isn't still starting. Talk about some fair weather fans. I have a question now for coach Pete Carroll. Does this make you a normal team now that you lost? Lets face it, you was normal befor the season started and this game just proved it. Saying stupid things like that always come back to bite you in the ####. But do not worry to much Trojans all you have to do is beat Cal. and I'm sure the media will be looking to put you back were you think you belong. Though I doubt very seriously you can beat Cal. or Oregon for that matter. Go ahead and fight on Trojans, from here on out you'll be fighting for your pride. Oh how the mighty have fallen!

USC was annointed "Best Team" status in the pre-season on the basis of returning starters on defense and the fact that they pack their roster with five-star recruits. Obviously packing your roster with talent is the goal of every program, but you have to create balance at the same time. The Trojan nation is so spoiled from the Palmer-Leinert years that Booty looks terrible to them. They are victims of the media hype machine. Losing to Stanford is unacceptable to be sure, and USC is still a great team. However, they are not the team that the media put on a pedestal in the pre-season. Another example of why there shouldn't be any polls relesed until October. USC is still in the top ten. Wisconsin lost to a very good Illinois team and dropped 10 spots. WTF??
It is almost a curse to begin the season as the number one team due to the expectations placed upon the team.
Now I need USC to re-focus and beat Cal, so the Buckeyes can get into the top two. By the end of the season, if OSU and LSU win out, it will be a match-up people will want to see.
Gambit...I didn't like Booty LY, and except for one game in the Rose Bowl, have never thought he played a complete game. I thought he was over rated. I went on Frank Irizarry's show BEFORE college football started and had a conversation with Reverand Rhythym about Booty...he doesn't impress me. He can't throw the long ball.
Yes there have been a lot of fans who have recently disowned Booty...but me? NEVER liked him. I was hoping I was wrong about him, but I wasn't. Damn that hurts! I was laughing when the media was saying Booty was a Heisman candidate preseason. NO way! He's had one good game in a year and a half and that was against Michigan.
Pete nice- thx for dropping in and I agree with you on everything. Maybe LSU VS OSU could be an interesting matchup. Both have good D so it could work. As long as it's not someone like S. Fla. i'm cool with it.

Lisa- Those people I speak of without nameing know who they are. I know you have said all along booty isn't that good. The media did build this kid up. If he would win it (I guess we all know now that isn't happening) it would be because of the players around him and the fact he plays for USC. The media does have a soft spot for USC QB'S. I would love to square off with an SEC opponent in the title game. If the Buckeyes are fortunate enough to make a return trip to the BC, it needs to be versus an SEC opponent. The Big Ten needs to right the ship, and that can only be done by gaining back some much needed respect with a victory against a team that everyone comsiders to be championship material. The Buckeyes would be the decided underdog, which is the role you want in the title game. A lot of people point to last year's title game mis-match and just discount the Buckeyes and/or the Big Ten. Hard to blame them, but the point is that last season is just that...last season. It has nothing to do with this year. Good luck the rest of the way, hope to see you on Bourbon St. in Janaury.

No LSU isn't a dynasty but it's '07 not 20 yrs ago I live today not yesterday and the SEC is on the rise while evrything else is either on a decline (big ten and Big 12) or at a stalemate (pac-10). So you can come here and cry about how I have nothing better to write about than the Sorry #### Trojans all you want because you know what, your right because LSU'S second half performance speaks volumes for it's self. The way this year is going, I'm not sure "kicking" a fan while they are down is a wise move. That old saying.."don't wake a sleeping giant"..comes to mind. Being an ASU faithful, I was shocked and pleased to see USC get beat. Just as I was to see most of the other so called "mighty" teams get beat this year. I'm a 33 yr old guy who has been a big fan of sports most my life. I love sports from in and around my city of New orleans. I am also a huge L.A. Laker fan,been so since i was a kid and saw magic play. Love my LSU fighting tigers and hopeing for another National Championship this year. Geaux tigers!!!
