Let the fun finally begin. Congrats to Fla. Good Luck in the tourney. As for my Badgers, if they win the conference tourney they will be #1 going into the tournament. That means OSU would have lost and I don't see KU winning the Big 12 tourney. UW could have a grudge match game 3 against Michigan State if the Spartans can handle Northwestern. I will be happy with a 2 seed simply because 1 seeds don't seem to win the tourney.
As for my other home team, the Milwaukee Sucks (I mean Bucks.) Keep on losing. Oden, Durant, or even Law would look good in those ugly #### uniforms. So long Terry Stotts.
Well, Florida played well in that game! But, not enough to get a #1 seed. Can't wait for this sunday! My two favorite teams, Illinois and Notre Dame, should both get in. ND deffiniley, and Illinois should, but it will be close. Good luck to Florida! The conference tourney's will be great, too.
Rev, I'm also looking for great things in the tourney, but I wanted to see a spark before we even headed down that road..I certainly didn't imply that all the Gator's problems are solved, just that we're relieved to see some good ole fashioned play.
As a UK fan, I hate to admit that Florida is a better program than UK right now, and yes Rev, you own us. So does Vandy, and that's pathetic! I'm hoping Uk will "Drain the Tub" soon and find someone to get our program back on track so we can at least be competitive again. 9-7 in the SEC & 0-6 against ranked teams is way below what we should get out of one of the highest paid coaches in the NCAA.
I think Fla snapped out of it's funk right on time and I also think they'll win the championship again this year. UNC & Kansas are their only serious threats in my opinion. Despite the fact he plays at Fla, one of my favorite players to watch is Joakim Noah. He plays with such intensity that he always fires up his teammates and makes them better. Only thing is, I want to see him play in the NBA next year, not at Florida!!

A big ditto to all of what you said! I don't want to see Noah play pro..I don't even know if that's what he wants. He isn't about the money, but the thrill of the game. Hope you're right about Florida going all the way!
funhistory ...........Finally as you've said they've awoken from their sleep. Thankfully what we'll be witnessing during the SEC Tournament will be a revitalized team. I hasten to shudder and think as to what might've happened had they not beaten Kentucky. Because more likely than not the season could've gone up in smoke. I doubt that Donovan would've been able to turn things around in time head they lost. So hopefully now they'll have found their wits about them to make an allout assault for the SEC tournament and then on to the national championship.
Funny, I don't mean winning the tourney. I feel they will end up at 1 going in if they do what I had stated. It will be tough especially if they play MSU again. That is a big rivalry and MSU needs it to have a chance at getting in. Congrats to Tucker for Big Eleven POY.
Rampantfanatic--Yes, I definitely felt this was the last straw. I still think they're going to have to win the SEC tourney to get a first seed, but a two wouldn't be too bad!
It was nice to see that Horford made the All Conference SEC First team ! It was an accolade worthy of him as he's been outstanding for the team all year. Hopefully also he'll be able to keep up the good play throughout the SEC tournament and on into the NCAA'S ! It'll be a wide open tournnament from my point of view as anyone of several teams could be considered a favorite at present. Amongst them naturally are the Gators, UCLA, Ohio St, Kansas, Memphis and Wisconsin. But whatever way you look at it's hard to pick a team that truly stands out amongst those that I've mentioned. As it's hard to say that there's a clear cut favorite overall.
funhistory ...It's not that I don't believe but I might hasten to add that I've seen a lot of these teams just implode when it really matters ! I'm hoping that's just not the case with the Gators ? Billy Donovan has to get them on track and approaching each game with the right attitude. If not they'll fail miserably at the first obstacle they face. I'm glad to see also that some of the little minnows of the world will be making it to the 'big dance' .
Somebody needs to wake up and see that Noah is a soft Center. He is a pretty boy playing type of fella. Someone also needs to tell him that his dancing is lame and nerdy white people dance better than his performance this past weekend.I can't wait to see Oden abuse him in the tournament. That's only if Florida makes it that far.Oden is a manchild and Noah will need an ark after he's done weeping. Florida is soft. They will be exposed early in the tournament.
Yeah, I was watching Noah, Horford and Brewer play and I said, they do look soft. All those blocks and points in the paint. That's the mark of a soft team.
The championship rings, the consecutive conference championships... and oh yeah, that time they held Oden to two points in the second half in a rout of the Buckeyes.
Nice to hear from a Kentucky fan. Congrats on making it to March Madness. Don't agree with any of your comments, but respect your right to have an opinion!
Rampant/Tophatal chimin' in here as I've got a new post up about freshman phenom Kevin Durant of the Texas Longhorns. As the tourney's now started I was wondering what your thoughts are on the young kid. The talk has been about Greg Oden off course but to my mind Durant is by far the more NBA ready player as he possesses an allround game and is mature beyond his years. The post is written under my guise as tophatal and is entitled 'Hype Pure Speculation What Else Can One Really Say ' ? If you're interested give it a read and let me know what your thoughts are on the post in question. I look forward to reading all your comments ! Regards .........
Guys the dark horse in the tournament to me is the Georgetown Hoyas as they've been playing some real hard nose basketball as of late. They'll give a lot of teams a run for their money.
That's cool. You'll have to keep an eye out for Frank. He's eight down on my favorite's list(FrankIzarrysblog). You two are neighbors and have teaching on common so that's cool. It's hell though when two Florida fans get together..ha ha.
1steelerfan1 ........Speaking also as a late Gator fan of late. They'll come to ' Rock Da House'. And if their hearts are really in it then they'll go home with the hardware.
And then all those naysayers will appreciate what not only SEC basketball is about. But also that the Gators can stand up to any of the so called perennial powerhouses in the nation and give 'em a ruin for their money !
funhistory ..........What a pity that the Buckeyes were able to dodge that bullet against Xavier ? The officiating in that particular game left a lot to be desired !
But then what's a game without some sort of controversy ? I was also sorry to se the Longhorns lose but that's what becomes of a team that's too reliant upon one player getting it all done without much assistance from the rest of his teammates.
1steelerfan1 ............Go to my most recent post written under the guise of tophatal. On there you'll find something of a late and belated birthday gift fom me to you. I do hope that you enjoy the content and the spirit with which it was meant. The title of the post is 'SteelerFan1 A Belated B'day Gift From Me To You !' On it you'll find some fine young looking females. Much in line with the post you'd recently completed. In this case you'll find an array of females from which to choose as your favorite. Once again Happy Belated Birthday and I do hope that you enjoyed the festivities accompanying the day !
I'm a die-hard University of Florida GATOR fan, proud supporter of two national championships in 2007 and one in 2006. Yes I do teach History. Some of you are saying B0000RING, but I find it fun and so do my students.
I also support the Oklahoma Sooners especially when they're doing well. . I'm a huge fan of NCAA sports, somehow it loses its flavor when they get paid.
I have no children, except the hundreds I teach. I'm old as the hills, so don't bother to hit on me--as if anyone would!!!.
