When OSU and Wisconsin meet on Sunday, it's obvious that someone's going to lose. Of course, Wisconsin may already be knocked down a peg or two because of their recent loss.
Meanwhile, Gators cinch the SEC and need to win out the rest of the season to satify all of us rabid Gator fans. They seemed energized against University of South Carolina --but then that wasn't much of a contest.
Things are heating up for March Madness, so hold on to your hats!
Hard one to cheer for, but have to go with OSU. Even though they are #1 right now. Just do not want to cheer for Wisconsin. But could however. Wisconsin beats OSU, should be
Florida
Wisconsin
Ohio State
Then conference tourney, Ohio State beats Wisconsin, get the auto spot for Big 10 and knocks Wisconsin a lower seat.
I see a test shaping up come tourney time. I see a lot of people's brackets and it looks like Florida could be playing Texas. While I think Brewer, Horford and Noah could shut down Durant, Texas worries me a little. I would like a nice clean road into the final four.
ed, question, are their conference tournies before the big dance? just trying to remember if there are or not, I know conference winners get auto spot in 65. Just seeing how they get the winners and how they bracket.
If Wisconsin wins, they might deserve a #1 Ranking in the AP Poll, but the Coaches will have them like 10th-ish. Come tourney time, Ohio State will most likely be able to earn a #1 seed.
funhistory .....You needn't worry as of yet as things are moving along nicely. The Gators will do fine as long as the core of the team don't suffer any injuries. That ultimately is what I'm hoping for above all else. As is so often the custom come the big tourney someone tends to go down with a slight innocuous malady.
And then everything starts to unravel ! Hopefully Billy Donovan will be keeping a close eye on things ?
Most conferences have tournaments. Some places are guaranteed to the winners of the tournaments if they have a high enough RPI. Yeah I know I worry too much--you should see me during football season!
all i know is this is the wrong time of the year for a slump by wisconsin. losing 2 in a row would be extremely bad for their NCAA seeding.
however, it's not like MSU and OSU are mid-major bubble teams. i understand OSU is pretty good, and after watching the wisconsin/MSU game tuesday night, i'm not sure i want to play them again next week...or in the big ten or NCAA tourney.
tucker disappointed me the other night, but i finally figured out who he's been trying to immitate lately....tracy mcgrady. he aint no tracy mcgrady. not even close.
I'm proud of both BIG 10 teams being in the top 3. But of course my heart lies with the Buckeyes. It's going to be a great game on Sunday.
-Funhistoryteacher, you told me in another post "You just need to chill out and enjoy--even if you're losing--you can't be on top all of the time." So guess what? RELAX! LOL
fuhistory ..............I'm hoping that the boys will be on topm of their game.
I hear Guden lost the coin toss and will have to pick fourth in the upcoming NFL draft. Let's hope he doesn't screw that up as well ! There's talk down here that he should either go after the wide receiver Calvin Johnson or if he's still available Adrian Peterson of Oklahoma . Gruden's last couple of picks over the years have been less than impressive. Just like his coaching and to my mind he's very much overrated. He's like Norv Turner put them in the right seeting and they'll do well. But leaving them to their own devices and they're absolute #### ! Does Cadillac run and can Michael Clayton actually catch a ball ? Inquiring minds need to know as do many Bucs' fans ?
Thankfully I'm not one of them , I only live in the vicinity of the area.
funhistory ........I see that Donovan and Dickie Vitale have been caught in the eye of a storm concerning comments supposedly made by Donovan concerning Al Horford and Jaokim Noah.
It would appear that Donovan is now denying the alleged statements attributed to him by Vitale where he claimed that Noah was overrated and that Horford would be by far the safer pick in the upcoming draft. All this supposedly after Noah was the player who all but secured the team's win of the NCAA's last season by his stellar play !

funhistory ..... Personally I don't believe that Donovan would've said such a thing knowing that someone like Vitale is such a loudmouth ! It's purely Vitale wanting to get noticed. As an analyst he's very knowledgeable on all things basketball. But beyond that he should keep his damn mouth shut. The now supposed friendship that he and Donovan share has all but now been eroded. He can't be trusted anymore especially if something is now said off the record !
I've got two new posts up written under the guise of tophatal if you're interested one's on sport's franchises the other is on boxing. Sport's franchise is entitled 'The Plan Is To Make Money Isn't It ' ? The boxing subject deals with the upcoming De La Hoya , Mayweather Jr fight on the 5th May (Cinqo De Mayo) in Vegas. That's entitled 'Bigger Than The Rumble In The Jungle Or Bigger Than Thriller In Manila ' ? If you're interested give it a read and let me know what you think as I'll look forward to reading your comments.
History was and is my favorite subject by the way. There's a fox poll going on right now about how far people think florida will go. Interesting stuff.
1steelerfan1 .........The Gators now will only go as far as Donovan can convince them that they'll go. As of this moment in time they seem to have lost that confident swagger they had earlier in the season. The loss against the Vols didn't help any either as they were completely exposed !
As a team that's renowned for their defense, they were hopeless on the night turning over the ball so many times during the game.
Where do you see the likes of Horford and Noah goiin in the upcoming draft when it takes place ? Bearing in mind that the NCAA championships will play a considerable fate in the overall outcome.
Me personally, I'd like to think that they'd both go mid first round if anything !
Rampfanatic -- I 'm with you on two other things too. Vitale vs Donovan on integrity is no match Donovan wins. Plus Donovan and the Gators contain the key to how far they'll go they should interview them to find out
funhistory ....I'm looking forward to the SEC Tournament more than anything else to see if the Gators can redeem themselves before the NCAA's start. Because if the're inable to do so then I can't see them going far in the in the national championship. They need all the momentum they can gain by having a good run in the SEC if not winning it outright !
funhistory .....I don't put much more in anything that Vitale has to say anymore as he's proven himself to be a complete imbecile and buffoon ! As usual he's proven to most thqat his knowledge of the game whilst being informative he can still prove that above all that he wants to have the last say on most things ! Integrity isn't something that I believe he really understands !
Dear Ramp-- I'm looking forward to the SEC tourney too to get the Gators back in the groove, the Kentucky win today helps. Noah seems to have regained his footing. So we'll see how it goes!!
I'm a die-hard University of Florida GATOR fan, proud supporter of two national championships in 2007 and one in 2006. Yes I do teach History. Some of you are saying B0000RING, but I find it fun and so do my students.
I also support the Oklahoma Sooners especially when they're doing well. . I'm a huge fan of NCAA sports, somehow it loses its flavor when they get paid.
I have no children, except the hundreds I teach. I'm old as the hills, so don't bother to hit on me--as if anyone would!!!.
