It's easy to talk about the NFL's behavior problems. It's much more difficult to quantify them. At Football Outsiders, we like to use statistics to analyze every aspect of football. Unfortunately, there has never been an effective metric to measure arrests, suspensions, barroom brawls, or other acts of naughtiness.
Until now. After 45 minutes of intense boredom, I've developed the latest weapon in Football Outsiders' data arsenal. I call it the Violent, Immature, Criminal, or Knuckleheaded Behavior Statistic, or VICK BS. The VICK BS tells you instantly whether, on any given day, the NFL is a collection of respectable young athletes dedicated to making the world a better place, an ocean-liner-sized hand basket careening straight into hell's deepest septic tank, or something in between.
Like all of our statistics, the VICK BS is easy to compute. You only need two bits of data:
1) The number of stories in the "Headlines" box on the NFL section of FOXSports.com that relate to criminal or antisocial behavior, and
2) The number of days since an NFL player was last arrested. This value can easily be found on ProFootballTalk.com
Each of these values, by itself, is a pretty potent indicator of how prevalent bad behavior is in the NFL on any given day. Put them together, and you have a handy uber-stat. Just square the FOXSports.com headlines, divide by the days since an arrest, and you have VICK BS.
On Sunday, Mat 27th, at 6 p.m. Eastern time, five of the nine football headlines on FOXSports.com dealt with criminal or mischievous incidents. Over at ProFootballTalk.com, the counter stood at six days without an arrest. Five squared is 25, and 25 divided by six is 4.17. I did that without a calculator, folks, because I have a degree in mathematics.
So Sunday's VICK BS was 4.17. What does that mean? In the world of statistics, context is everything. That's why I devised a simple color-coded companion system for VICK BS. If you are too busy or math-phobic to deal with the actual numerical value, you can simply refer to VICK BS by its color code:
VICK BS: Zero to 0.99
CONDITION: Rosy
COMMISSIONER GOODELL'S FACIAL EXPRESSION: A guarded smile.
TYPICAL WATER-COOLER DISCUSSION: "Hey, that new Australian punter sure is giving our veteran punter a run for his money in minicamp. I'll be following that battle right up until the end of August."
VICK BS: 1.00 to 2.99
CONDITION: Orange you glad you weren't partying with the Bengals this weekend?
COMMISSIONER GOODELL'S FACIAL EXPRESSION: An embarrassed grimace.
TYPICAL WATER-COOLER DISCUSSION: "Crushing and snorting Skittles to get high just isn't right. If NFL linebackers think they can get away with it, then junior high kids will be next."
VICK BS: 3.00 to 4.99
CONDITION: Amber, the exotic dancer who works the 3 a.m. shift and tried to make off with 81,000 of your hard-earned dollars. One at a time.
COMMISSIONER GOODELL'S FACIAL EXPRESSION: Roughly the same look your wife gives you when you come home smelling like you were run over by a cement mixer filled with Makers Mark.
TYPICAL WATER-COOLER DISCUSSION: "Did you hear that Terrell Owens faked his own death to avoid paying income taxes? That man has issues."
#### THEM DOGS AND ALL OF YOU ANIMAL LOVERS I AINT COUNTRY BUT PEOPLE SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO WHATEVER THEY WANT WITH THEY DOG. PEOPLE PROMOTE PEOPLE TO FIGHT WHY NOT DOGS. I MIGHT SOUND CRUEL BUT WHO CARES.
AND I UNDERSTAND THAT IT WAS VICK PROPERTY BUT HE WASN'T THERE AT THE TIME IT HAPPEN. VIC GET CAUGHT UP IN ALOT OF #### THAT PROBABLY COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED. BUT I DONT HEAR ANYTHING ABOUT HIM THAT MAKES ME THINK HE IS A BAD PERSON. INFACT HE HAS DONATED TO ALOT OF CHARTIES. HE WAS THE FIRST DONATER FOR THE VIRGINA TECH INCIDENT.
This Vick situation is no doubt BS and if he gets suspended, Falcon fans will have a fit and Atlanta's team will fall like a house of cards. Besides, maybe he would not have been so stressed out if Jim Mora would have helped him and HIS DAMN RECEIVERS WOULD HAVE CAUGHT HIS PASSES! Oh well, Bobby Petrino will set him straight. Besides, who donated $10,000 to Virginia Tech!!!???
There is far too much negativity in this world. To wait until someone is actually proven guilty of a crime seems too much to expect nowadays. It's far more convenient to be reckless and assume guilt. It would be nice if you could hold off with the assertions until charges are brought forward, if charges are filed, before assigning a Vickometer. At any rate, it's quite idiotic considering he's yet to be charged and/or convicted of any crime. To this point, according to the DA, there isn't enough evidence to charge Vick. I can only hope that we become more mature as people because making such reckless comments about people is very dangerous for all, not only Vick. This cannot be acceptable to you. If it were you or someone you loved, wouldn't you like the dignity of having your day in court! To this point, we really only know that he owned the house. We can assume much and be wrong. Vick may be guilty. There's a justice system to determine that. I can only say that I wish no harm to any man, woman or child. May God bless us all. Criminal behavior shouldn't be tolerated by society by any means. I will say, however, that we our society is quite hypocritic in that dogfighting is illegal but boxing is not. Yes, dogfighting should be illegal. But there are a number of boxers that have died or suffered lie altering injuries in the ring. If it wasn't sad, it would be funny. What's worse though is that we will jump any bandwagon that suits us. It would be great if it really was about justice and equality for all. In case you didn't get it, it really isn't about Vick. This article is
Maybe we should sit back and watch this "circus" unfold before our very eyes. I say before this dog fighting thing with Mike Vick is over it will be more dramatic than the Sopranos!! My guess is someone who knows too much will come up missing, or shot to death. Another black eye the NFL doesn't need
Boxing would be a valid comparison only when babies or mentally handicapped people are put in the ring, in a fight to the death, for other people's pleasure. Last I checked, boxers were paid for their troubles and as free-will-having adults, they can simply choose not to box.
Dogs have neither of these options.

In honor of all the cro-magnon intelligence like escapades of our so called NFL heroes, I suggest the league be renamed. Perhaps something more appropriate like The Neanderthal Felonious Legion. Or possibly Nothing Fans Like. Whatever happened to the days when the only trouble players caused was getting drunk and chasing women? It was certainly more fun to read about the escapades of men like Namath then it is to read the constant puerile behavior of todays players. The next thing for the NFL to do will be to include a weekly arrest record along with the injury reports so fans can decide whether to watch the game on sunday or if they have to wait till Monday when their favorite players trial is aired on Court TV? Maybe Vegas can also start laying arrest odds on players so bettors can increase thier chances of winning. We are only 3 months from the start of another season and as far as this fan of 40 plus years is concerned, Do we really care anymore?
I love how people want to go after Vick without JD's and want to judge him. He has not been brought up on charges and the likelihood has yet to be soon. I'm wondering what the statute of limitations is on dog fighting in the state of Virginia. For this writer to write such detestable garbage without an indictment against Vick, is heinous. If you want to write stuff like this without the evidence, go ahead, but expect a libel suit. Bring me the facts. If it is found that Vick was involved, then vilify him, but until then, you are still technically innocent until proven guilty. I'm disgusted by this writer and all others who go after Vick. I'm appalled by the amount of racist comments are on these message boards. I normally don't bring up race b/c people use it too much. But, the amount of thug, ####, and other terms thrown out there is a shame. Let's talk football. No charges, then talk football.
By the way, a JD is a Juris Doctorate. It's the degree you get when you graduate from law school.
People. Please wait for charges to be filed first before going and crucifying MV7. Then IF charges are filed - please feel free to protest in front of his house and have certain well know reverends come and make statements condeming his actions. Yes, wait for charges to be filed then it's okay to crucify him. Forget that little point concerning proof of guilt. Sound familiar y'all?
Alright fine. Everyone stop judging Vick; at least until he goes to jail or gets charged. Then everyone can rightly judge him.
While innocent until proven guilty is one thing, advocating dog fighting or even attempting to rationalize or justify it is disgusting. What's wrong with dog fighting if UFC and Boxing are ok, lumps70? Dogs cannot choose their level of participation. Dogs are living creatures that depend upon their owners to take care of them - not put them in potentially life-threatening situations.
Would anyone on here defending dog fighting think it's acceptable to have death matches among members of a vulnerable human population? Like slaves? Or the poor? Or the homeless? Dogs, like all domesticated animals, are a vulerable population that can easily be abused; acting as though it's perfectly accpetable to fight dogs in private is assinine. You don't sound cruel, bassda1, you sound like an ####.
Michael Vick is the criminal element in the NFL. The #### has no compassion for his own people no less a bunch of dogs. He and the rest of the gold chained, diamond clad, dred lock lookin punks should be ashamed of thier life styles. Try giving back to the communities that disparately need the help, instead of suceeding in being a wanna be rapper/gang####er
Bassda 1, Zork, You sirs are a morons. Dogs have been our companions for 40,000 years and historians say man would have died off during the mammoth age if not for the protection and early warning they provided. Go and beat your Dog, starve him, break his legs. He will come crawling back to you tail wagin. No matter what a #### you are he will still love you when no one else does.
I am no Vick fan, but I don't dislike him. He is innocent until proven guilty. Now the fact that he ran over to Commissioner Goodell during draft day, he sounds like a lil punk. Telling that he'll be good before something negative comes out. That is very much elementary school. He is a grown man, and needs to show by example, and not running too the commissioner after he saw what happened to Pac-man Jones. Someone said Vick is the best QB ever. You're way off with that one. He is the best athlete to play the QB position, but the fact of the matter is, no "run first" QB has ever won a Superbowl and Vick will not change that. His greatest strength is his biggest demon. Falcons should have kept Schaub. Atlanta will never win a superbowl with Vick at QB. They will always be dangerous, but will not win. Mark my words for every season that ends with no Championship in Atlanta. First everyone thought Abraham was the answer, but I knew the deal was bad because he can't stay on the field, and now Vick and his behavior. We all human but hey, in VA its a felony for fighting dogs, so whatever happens, happens. If he really did do it, he should have never took that risk.
I love the rapper/gang####er comment. It has the inadvertent racism that America thrives on. MV is not, nor has he been anything of the such. And those aren't dred locks, those are cornrows. Learn the terminology if you want to be like us.
Dog fighting is horrible, but to rest your evidence on an informant who saw Vick at the fight in 2000, is su####ious to me. Again, what is the statute of limitations on dog fighting? Does anybody in the sheriff's office in VA know that? Bring me the evidence, I will personally convict Vick, but until then, I am skeptical of the evidence.
Of course, if any of us had the money of Vick, we would be acting like some damn fools. Anybody who says that they wouldn't be, is lying. To call Vick a #### is a low blow. Learn to have a spirited debate without having to revert to name calling.
THE NFL HAS TO PUT 6 PLAYER THAT REAL CARE OF THE PROBLEMS OF THE LEAGUE AND THOOSE PLAYERS WILL GOING TO TRY TO SOLVE THIS CRAZY PROBLEM BETWEEN VICK AND THE MAD-DOGS (FOR ME THOOSE PLAYER ARE: RICKY WILLIAMS, RANDY MOSS, TERRELL OWENS, PACMAN JONES, WARREND SAPP AND THE COMPLETE BENGALS TEAM) THOOSE PLAYES I AM SURE WILL SOLVE THIS PROBLEM!!!!
Quoted: "Would anyone on here . . . think it's acceptable to have death matches among members of a vulnerable human population? Like slaves? Or the poor? Or the homeless?"
Heck, I'd pay to see a hobo deathmatch. Probably be a lot cheaper than those dog fights; all the hobos need is a steady supply of T-bird.
Yes, that is in extremely poor taste, and no I wouldn't condone hobo deathmatches. But, I wrote it to illustrate a point; Tanier's piece is definitely more satirical in nature, so lighten up. I'm a Falcon fan, and even I thought it was pretty funny, I mean c'mon the "VICK BS" stat? That's funny.
What's not funny, though, and I'm refreshed to see so many others mention it, is the idea that Vick should be convicted in the court of public opinion, versus a court of law with the same presumption of innocence afforded to EVERY American citizen. Peace.
This article was really stupid. For all you Vick lovers, he will be in jail before long anyways....if not for dog fighting, for something else stupid that he is bound to do. Vick is a STUPID individual.
The problem with America everybody wants to convict a Vick( Marcus and Michael) What about lil Billy Bob who is out there doing the same thing? Oh I guess that Sean Bell was shooting at the police also. You all need to stop with this judging people prematurely... Everyone who knows our court system know your innocent until proven guilty the the court of law... Vick Keep Ya Head Up!!!! Lastly do Ya'll remember O.J. the courts vindicated him (Even though he did it)!!!!
P.S turn about is fair play
dont try to act like you care about animals i see the same #### from people who go out and kill coyotes for trying to eat chickens then they turn around and kill elk and deer for trophies then get on tv and say they love animals just say i love what i like and go hunt the rest for fun kill a panther or hippo is crazy a buffalo the dummest animals on the planet and people go out with these guns oh you have got to see these guns they are almost bazookas so Vick was wrong in the right person eyes dont cry for dogs then praise grandpa for killing a 8 point buck cry for it all it is all senseless
OK, OK. A person is innocent until proven guity, agreed. As stated many times if Vick is charged, and found guilty, regardless of how you feel about dog fighting he deserves what he gets. Those who state that dog fighting has any similarity to UFC or boxing probably does not score among the top 90% in IQ tests. Also to compare dog fighting with hunting I believe your IQ must be in the negative range. I am not a hunter, never have been and never will be but most of those I know who hunt do it for sport and process the meat to consume, can I assume that those who fight dogs do the same. I saw the ESPN special on Vick and watched the videos of these fights and it made me sick to my stomach to hear the sounds of dogs being mauled and knowing there are people standing watching this in today's society is beyond belief. During boxing matches if there is someone who makes the sounds of being hurt like these animals were the fight would be stopped imediately but not the case in dog fighting. Take Vick out of this equation for now (although I still find it hard to believe that a man has 60+ dogs on his property and does not know about it)and know that in the 21st century we humans have still not risen to a level where we respect all life on this planet. As for the media, they do what they are paid to do, take an accusation and proceed with a media trial, judge and convict based soely on their sources. If Vick is not found guilty of anything they will say we never accused him and if he is they will all say we told you, best of both worlds Huh.

I'm with Fedupfan. I am so sick of this thug mentality in the NFL that I could puke! Whatever happened to just playing football? I want to watch the game that I love, not a bunch of low class thugs throwing their money around and getting arrested every other day. Play football and act like a human being and contribute to society or I say throw them out of the NFL. Do we really need this sort of person in the game anyway? No. The game was great when people weren't paid a fortune and they didn't think they were beyond the laws of society just because they played ball. The NFL worked before they were in it and it will survive without them too!
I can't believe some of the people who responded to this article. Some have an IQ below 70 and absolutely no grammar or plain old English skills whatsoever. Those issues aside:
1) Vick is not a good QB. He does one thing well, run. His statistics are way below average for a starting QB in the NFL. No it isn't his receivers, it's him.
2) The Falcon's will never go to the Super Bowl as long as Vick is their QB. You can take that to the bank.
3) How many coaches do you go through before you realize that it isn't the coach that's the problem? The Falcon's management is dangerously close to resembling Matt Millen's style and expertize.
4) Vick is a dressed up version of his little brother. Stupid is as stupid does. Marcus learned it from somewhere, you do the math.
5) Dog fighting aside, he should get a serious beat down for his holier then thou attitude. His #### stinks just like the rest of us. A big thank you to the media for over hyping the guy. Talk about over-rated.
6) Ron Mexico isn't funny, it isn't cool and it sure isn't a responsible way to show those that look up to you how to act.
Finally, this isn't about race so don't go off on me about how I am a hater and all of that because that isn't so. Micheal Vick is the epitome or who not to be. Nice example for the kids to follow. And people wonder why our society is so screwed up when idiots like him are in the news for this ####.
Hey Merlin222, you on point with that one. Check my comment from yesterday.
People on here want to be racist, yet their own people want to dress, talk, and act like us. Lets just talk football. I am not too sure about the statement "if any of us had Vick money we would be actin a damn fool" I mean if I had Vick money, I am not fighting dogs. Plenty of more things to do with all that money. Anyhow, apparently he has been fighting dogs before the NFL. It could be true, it may not. You can make a case for both sides on that. You could say he didn't have the money, but the flip side, is he and other people knew he was going to be big time in the league, and was going to get that paper, so people could have fronted the money for him, and you look out for them when u make it. This is the streets. For him, so many things are happening back to back. Ron Mexico, then the finger to the crowd and now this. He has to understand that he is in the lime light. At the sametime I wish people would understand that athletes are human also, and make mistakes. The course will play itself out, and we'll see what happens with Vick.
"6) Ron Mexico isn't funny, it isn't cool and it sure isn't a responsible way to show those that look up to you how to act."
When I was growing up I had these folks around called parents who taught me how to act. That isn't Vick's job. He plays quarterback. Too many people want to park their kids in front of a TV and not parent while they follow their own pursuits instead of raising their kids and monitoring what they are into and restricing access to materials they, as parents, deem offensive. Michael Vick is young, and rich beyond belief. But if someone saw him at a dog fight in 2000, I believe that was well before he set foot on an NFL field and thus, the NFL is not responsible for discplining him. I like animals, myself, always have, but it's amazing to me that this story is SO big when other NFL stars have done much worse. More of the media deciding what we pay attention to, and don't. He isn't running around with guns or dodging murder charges. Officially, he didn't know about it and wasn't involved and until evidence is gathered and charges are filed, that's it.
And I think Ron Mexico's hilarious. So speak for yourself.
The NFL will take action if he had any involvement during his time in the League. It may not be any better if his activity was only in 2000 because its still a Felony. Plus they say his most recent dogfighting activity was in 2006. Whether he was there or even provided money while he was in the league, he will be suspended. The thing that got me is there is no way in the world, he could have a property bought his family, have 66 dogs there, and not know whats going on. He may have some Haters in his life thats snitchin on him.
You also right Celica, parents need to raise their kids, and not depend on these other people.
Quoted from Merlin222: "1) Vick is not a good QB. He does one thing well, run. His statistics are way below average for a starting QB in the NFL. No it isn't his receivers, it's him."
Really?? What statistics were you looking at Merlin? Was it the fact that he was in the top 10 in the league for TD passes last season with 20, or was it that he threw as many or fewer interceptions than Carson Palmer, Tony Romo and Matt Hasselbeck (13 total); the latter two having played in fewer games? The guy also rushed for over 1,000 yds. How about knowing what the f--k you're talking about before citing "terrible stats"?
Last edited by Nostradamus on May 31st at 8:21 AM.
Stats or no stats, Falcons aren't going to win a superbowl with Vick as the starting QB. Everyone shares the blame for it from the old coaching staff to the receivers, and to Vick himself. Everyone is excited with Petrino coming in. It'll be interesting to see how it all turns out, that is if Vick doesn't get suspended. Will Petrino have the right offense, or will it just be another result like the Old Steve Spurrier trying to implement f'd up plays in the NFL.
I can tell you that he's not as sweet and innocent as Vick supporters claim he is. People like to hop on the "Vick Bandwagon" because of his athletic abilities and because he makes the highlight reels, but believe me, the Atlanta Falcons, and any other team that show interest in him, will be better off without him.

Hey Nostradumbass........he threw fewer interceptions because he threw fewer passes. Why do you think he was able to rush for over 1,000 yards??? He had the same problem at VA Tech. Maybe YOU should check your references before commenting.
Hahahahahahaha @ souprfishl!!! Uh, genius? The fact that he threw fewer passes overall also means that he threw a higher percentage of TD passes than virtually every other QB in the league. Now correct me if I'm wrong, since I'm so dumb, but aren't TD passes the most important kind of pass in football?? Nice try, though, jacka$$. I guess you and Merlin failed the same Statistics course.
"Those who state that dog fighting has any similarity to UFC or boxing probably does not score among the top 90% in IQ tests."
I couldn't help myself with this one. First, you used the singular form "does" instead of the plural "do" in this sentence while indicating a group of people, which would require a plural verb. It's always amusing when someone tosses an insult about another's level of intelligence and then makes an obvious error during the insult. Second, I see quite a parallel, and my IQ is 138, so I am in your top 10% and an exception to your "probably." Regardless of whether you agree or not on the subject of dog fighting, it's still illegal, and if he is tied to it, I am in support of the law. But once again, pro athletes don't have to be sweet and innocent. Vick's job description is "quarterback, Atlanta Falcons." What he or anyone else does off the field is (or should be) subject to the same laws the rest of us have to follow, or suffer the consequences. Unfortunately, money and fame can get a person out of many situations where you or I would receive a prison term for participating.

Ok Nostradamus, you want to talk Michael Vick statistics? Lets talk statistics. Pulled straight from NFL.com:
Ranked 22 out of 30 in total yards.
Ranked 20 out of 30 with QB rating.
Ranked 18 out of 30 with INTs.
Ranked 60 out of ALL NFL QBs with pass completion.
Ranked 21 out of 30 in pass attempts.
Ranked 6th on most sacked list.
Now, I'm no rocket scientist, but those stats sound like someone who's in the bottom third of NFL quarterbacks. So he ranked 10th in TD passes with 20......11 of those came in 3 games. What about the 6 games where he didn't throw any? Or the 5 games where he only threw 1 (most of which came at the end of the game in which they lost mind you)?

I'm a ####, cursader? Just because you can beat a dog and have it still love you doesn't mean you should. What kind of a defense is that? The "because I can" defense? You COULD go Thailand and rape children too, you sick f@ck, but that doesn't make it right.
The point is this: dog fighting is wrong. Period. Even if the dog in question still likes you afterword, IT IS WRONG. To sit and try to defend people who do it (which may or may not include Vick), is not only disgusting, but indefensible by itself.
I shouldn't be surprised, however, when all of cursader's comments are taken together it is clear that they must be a very small minded indiviual who not only lacks basic moral decency but also half a brain with which to begin to understand the deeply troubling behavior that is dog fighting.
I can't believe that this is even a discussion. What's wrong with people?
Now you're getting it, souprfishl! If you're gonna come at me, come at me with objective arguments and evidence. And, those are compelling numbers, so I say, well done. However, aren't there 32 starting QBs in the league, not 30 as all your stats cite? Yes, it's a nitpicky point, but let's be accurate.
I should also point out that I never claimed Vick is the greatest QB in the league. I was responding to Merlin222's claim -- without a shred of evidence -- that Vick's stats are the worst in the league. Thus, I was merely highlighting that on two of the most important stats, (TD passes and INTs) he was actually pretty decent last year. Peace.
I am totally agreeing with nostradamus!!!! and guess what people, mike vick will be going to the superbowl this year with the falcons so eat that, and omg he is the best quarterback ever! plus hes on the best NFL team.
why is Vick called a thug?he has never been convicted of any violent crimes,no dui's,no drug charges or failed drug tests,no shoot outs or gun charges,no bar room brawls,no domestic violence charges, etc. Is he immuture at times?Yes,but some of you drunk fans I see at the games. The fans are so rowdy in Philly that they have a jail at the stadium! What about Ray Lewis? He was involved of a murder of 2 men in ATL back in 2000,why is considered a hero now?is the murder of 2 black males less than important than dogs?Speaking of young rich spoiled people what about "entertainers" like Paris Hilton,Lindsey Lohan, britany Spears, etc who get involved in dui's,drugs, barroom brawls, anorexia, and #### behavior? And your young daughters look up to them, don't beleive me then go to any high school, college campus, local bar, spring break, mardi gras etc.you will see young girls binge drinking, doing drugs, weighing 97lbs,and being ####!
It's time Vick,Portis and a few other NFLer's leave the #### (in their minds).....lord knows they spend enough time on MTVcribs bragging how they left physically!
This is probably old news now but things have a way of happening over and over until somebody or something gets hurt and THEN SOMEBODY will try to do something about it.
Every single thing in this world is out of control. Hell, we can't even control ourselves.
Do you want to know why people fight dogs? Because they were raised poorly. Maybe they weren't poor but they could not have had proper raising from balanced parents.
People who fight dogs are unbalanced individuals and need therapy. They have no concept of LOVE. They have little or no feelings.
Sometimes I think that dogs are more humane than SOME people. The definition of humane is(# marked or motivated by concern with the alleviation of suffering or showing evidence of moral and intellectual advancement.) They love unconditionally unless trained to hate, fight or kill. It's sickening.
Now as for the kids who are in and out of REHAB especially the so called Movie Stars if that's what you want to call them, they need a bit more attention than they are getting on stage or on screen. T.V. is the number one advertising device for wrong doing and everyone knows that I'm right and you who don't, I feel for you.
Remember Janet Jackson's eposoide at the NFL SuperBowl? Oh well, what should we expect. Of course she meant to do it. She was just competing for attention like all the other stars plus I don't think that she was any more vulgar than the NFL Cheerleaders.
If we people in this world want to see some balance in this world then we need to start with Television. Clean it up. The sports.. let it be just sport
This whole innocent until proven guilty defense is ridiculous. Morality is not regulated by law, only the social contract by which we operate our society. Just because you aren’t convicted of driving drunk doesn’t mean its right. The justice structure is fallible because in all aspects of the system it is subject to the human condition (see Mark Fuhrman, Mike Nifong, etc). But I can (like all of you) level an ethical judgment based on common sense to determine if someone is likely to have committed a morally incomprehensible act such as animal cruelty.
Frankly I’m not surprised by the ignorance of the posters of this page. It’s apparent that some of you haven’t bothered to read any of the investigative journalism done surrounding this issue. There are six separate sources stating they have seen Vick at dog fighting events (and some aren’t even convicted felons!). It is apparent that Surry County prosecutor Gerald Poindexter is incompetent, as he seems to change daily from a position of “This is a sure thing” to a “Not quite there yet” which explains the lack of charges. But the AP has reported that sources close to the prosecuting attorneys office say that there IS a case and that an indictment may be eminent, and Poindexter himself says that they have credible evidence that Vick has attended dog fighting events.
Vick may not be convicted, but that doesn’t mean that he should be exonerated for knowingly passing on an STD to a woman, giving the middle finger to Atlanta fans, having a water bottle with a concealed compartment while trying to pass through airline securit
