I think what happened was the end of a long day playing in brutal conditions. Notice Favre is playing without gloves. I think the ball (must have been hard as a rock) slipped out of his hand. There was plenty of room to the outside for that pass and we all know Brett meant to throw it there. Hell, we've seen him do it time and time again.
He's gotta feel terrible... But ask any Pack fan and they want him in there in that situation every time. I don't care how many times the northern fans wish for harsh cold weather in these games, the fact is if that play occurred under reasonable weather conditions, the pass is either completed or no one catches it...
I think your right on. The conditions were quite harsh and under other circumstances I know Driver would have that ball and he would be running down that field.
First most I'm sure #4 fells bad. But it was 2nd and 8,, 2nd & 8!! second AND EIGHT!! with a wide (WIDE) open grant right in front of the line. It was cold to say the least, and hadn't moved the ball well for some time if at all. (see 2nd & 8 )
The biggest diff in the whole game was they got a td on the refs gift and the pack got 3. And no adjustment to the play calling in the 2nd half let ny stay in the same d mode. The next year thing sucks!! GO PATS
fishrman, just a thought. Watch the first replay where the camera is behind Favre, it looks as if for an instant, Driver's body is blocking the giant, so he appears for that instant to be wide open. Focus on Driver, not Favre.
