Hello friends Well it's July on the calender and a few weeks from training camp in the NFL. So why doesn't it surprise me that there are "rumors" again that Brett Favre is deciding to unretire? Why is he doing this or do he and his people like to keep us talikng?!
I made the suggestion on my blog a few months ago that Brett Favre play out his contract for two more years until he's 40. He's never been seriously hurt or missed any games so why not play it out to the end especially since he's got a championship type team in Green Bay the next few years.
No disrespect to Aaron Rodgers but he hasn't earned our respect yet and Brett Favre is a Hall of Famer to be no matter what happens. So why not play it out to the end and see what happens.
Not everyone goes out a champion like John Elway, Jerome Bettis or Michael Strahan, but wouldn't you like to see Brett Favre put everything he has on the table and go out a champion one more time.
Or do you want to see him go out on an interception like he did last year when you knew he had a good team in Green Bay and could give just a little bit more?
None of us can claim to know what Brett Favre feels or thinks in his NFL career, but we can see he's been a warrior on the field and by retiring a little too early he's not only cheating us but maybe himself and thinking maybe I could have led the Packers back to the Super Bowl and a championship.
If he fails and doesn't get hurt at least he tried. If not we'll all wonder what if? Either way please make your decision Brett and leave your career with honor and dignity. Either way you're a legend and Hall of Famer . Just let us know what your decision is.
All of us as football fans need to go on and so do you. Best wishes and have a great and productive day friends. fenfan

Brett is like the ol' guy in a wheelchair who still believes that he do a 100yd dash get home and make love to his wife.
The only thing is he's forgotten that he's not as sprightly as he use to be or that thoughtful. The game hasn't necessarily passed him by but it's time for him to call it quits once and for all.
Perhaps the only person who really wants to see him back may well be John Madden 'cause of his man crush on Brett.
ANOTHER brain dead blog post, with matchin' comments.
Love the first paragraph, "So why doesn't it surprise me that there are "rumors" again that Brett Favre is deciding to unretire? Why is he doing this or do he and his people like to keep us talikng?!"
Brett didn't say diddly. What makes everyone turn braindead the minute the media "wishes" something at them. FCFS THINK. Get your answers from THE MEDIA. "Sources say this, nfl says that". When are the people gonna hold idjuts like that mortinson accountable.
GO PACKERS!

Thanks for the comments friends even the strong and disagreeing ones like tundratrudger. That's what make the blogs great, different opinions. I like a lot of others just try to make valid or intersting comments based on the sports news we hear and Brett Favre is one of the bigger blog topics in sports the last few years. Keep the great comments coming friends and talk soon. Best wishes. fenfan
One more comment I'd like to make to tundratrudger and that person's "braindead" assesment of my writing. I respect all comments and opinions and feel free to agree or disagree, but please do not disrespect my or anyone else's writing here. It takes time, effort and thought to write these blogs and that should always be appreciated(hardly braindead) friends. Thanks for your time and interest in reading and commenting. Talk soon. fenfan
Yeah, I guess that was a bit over the top. My rant wasn't meant pick on you Fenwayfan, (and my apologies if it was/is offensive to you) but ALL writers that don't get the facts, and persue the rumor hwy to get attention. ESPN's mortinson should be banned from reporting.
Try readin' an article by "Bill Huber " titled "Favre answers the issues"

He's a scout.com writer. Not bad at all. Quite refreshing.
GET THE FACTS, DON'T RUN WITH RUMOR AND TRY TO PASS THAT OF AS FACT!
GO PACKERS!

What with Brent's dilemma as to will he , won't he ? And now with A-Rod's penchant for Madonna allegedly. One would've thought that things in the sport's world in terms of informative news was so miniscule that the press and in particular sports journaliasm has to now resort to the staple of the paprazzi and the tabloid mentality to obtain a story.
My 2-cents ----Brett decided what he wanted to do. I think the Packers have moved on. They can not wait around like we as Packers Fans have waited for Brett to speak in all these past years. The Packers have set the Team up and They should move forward. Waiting for Brett to speak is getting alittle sickning. When he left he didn't have much to do with all the loving fans in the State Of Wisconsin. LET IT BE OVER!!!!
Thanks for all the comments and for your apology tundratugger. I didn't take it personally and I know what you mean about rumors and how they go wild. I respectfully disagree about Chris Mortensen's reporting. Mort is one of the best in the business and one of the go to guys or sources for NFL reporting. Thanks again and best wishes friends. fenfan
I love taking about all sports in general although I tend to follow team sports more because I tend to follow teams more than individuals. That's why I don't have any favorite players listed at this time. Feel free to talk about most anything in sports with me. I don't know everything about sports, but I wish I did because maybe then I'd be in the sports profession. Anyway sports is my passion and I'd love to talk about it with you and become your sports friend so stop by anytime and we'll talk sports!
