Well it looks like the Los Angeles Lakers and the Detroit Red Wings could be celebrating titles and re-establishing their long time dynasties again. The Lakers much to my chagrin as a San Antonio Spurs fan have proven to be the younger and more athletic team and they are gaining experience fast in this series and while it is only the Western Conference Finals they are on the way to dethroning the defebding champion Spurs and should be favored in the East against the PIstons or Celtics although they are good teams as well. They just havent beaten teams like the ones that the Lakers and Spurs face in the Western Conference. Kobe Bryant with help from Pal Gasol, Derek Fisher and Lamar Odom has reestablished this as his team and Phil Jackson is once again the ringleader as coach though he is brilliant as well.
The Detroit Red Wings are on their way to winning a fourth Stanley Cup in the last 11 years. This was supposed to be a dream matchup with Sidney Crosby and the young and upstart Pittsburgh Penguins. In a few years it might be once the Penguins get a little more experience. To this point it is a nice story for them and hockey but the Wings are also too dominant at this point. Of course at the time of this writing it is not over for either the Lakers or Red Wings but I look for both to be having championship parades in June. As always we'll see what happens. As for now it's almost time for a changing of the guard and watching the re-established champions in Detroit and Los Angeles come back to take their throne. Take care and best wishes friends. Have a great and productive day. fenfan
P.S. That being said I also give credit to the refs for the non call on the Brent Barry shot and possible foul at the end of Game 4 against the Lakers. There is always to much speculations with calls by referees in the NBA . Barry got bumped by Derek Fisher and then shot the ball afterward hoping it would go in to win the game or at the very least get the call. To Brent Barry's credit he said while he looked for the call as a player he didn't expect to get it and took it respectfully. I as a Spurs fan don't want to win cheaply and if the Lakers win the series as I said I'll be satisfied with the way the outcome happened and say congratulations.

The inconsistency consistency of the NBA officials never ceases to amaze me. I suppose that's why Oberfeurher Stern believes implicitly in them ?
As to the Red Wings can we just say that although the Penguins have played commendably. They're being outclassed by a far superior opponent. That's something the Penguins' fans seem to be unwilling to admit. They're basing their team's regular season play what they were expected to produce in the postseason. They seem to forget that they've got to move up their play a notch or two at least when it comes to the Stanley Cup Finals.
And that's something that Sid and his boys have been unable to do at this juncture.

On my blog I give respect to the Spur team, organization and fans and for the most part am pleased to see the Spur fans acting like the quality city that San Antonio has established themselves with within the NBA cities.
At the same time there is that handful crying the blues. To that all I can say is Kobe Bryant took the third most free throws throughtout the season and the most in the playoffs and in San Antonio in two games he took a total of 2 free throws and none last night despite shooting 28 times.
When that disparity is faced by the complaining Spur fans then we can play the video of Barry who clearly travels, moving both feet after setting before Fisher ever touches him.

Personally I just wanted to see a competitive series more than anything else. But what I've seen as I believed that everyone has witnessed last season was incompetency and the consistent inconsistencies of the officiating. But then what else is new concerning the playoffs ?
Thanks rampantfanatic and NiqueD for the comments. Well the Penguins won 3-2 in Game 3 so I'll hold off the Red Wings victory parade just yet and also now we hear surprise the NBA is issuing an apology and saying Brent Barry was fouled. Then take away the Lakers Game 4 victory temporariliy and send Brent Barry to the foul line for two shots and then possible overtime to finish that game before Game 5. Only in a Spurs fans dream. Oh well. Anyway thanks again friends. Best wishes. fenfan

I'm longer surprised as to the insipid stupidity of NBA and it's officiating . Why should it be any different from any of the other three major sports ?
I love taking about all sports in general although I tend to follow team sports more because I tend to follow teams more than individuals. That's why I don't have any favorite players listed at this time. Feel free to talk about most anything in sports with me. I don't know everything about sports, but I wish I did because maybe then I'd be in the sports profession. Anyway sports is my passion and I'd love to talk about it with you and become your sports friend so stop by anytime and we'll talk sports!
